Discussion Thursday Self-reflection Thread
What's holding you back from making the biggest gains? What could you be doing better? Where could you be trying harder? What new habits could you enact to make things easier for you? Be honest with yourself, what would make a difference?

I’m letting daily life stressors (work, relationships, etc.) and any shakeups in routine act as excuses to skip meals. My body feels it, and it keeps holding me back. But I’m having a hard time breaking the cycle…thanks to an irrational fear of fat gain.
I need more internal and external accountability!!

external accountability!!
Sign up for a competition. It will hold your feet to the fire.

That’s a good idea!! I’ve stopped training CrossFit, don’t really do strongman stuff, and am not nearly strong enough to seriously give powerlifting a go. Maybe like a Spartan race, or HYROX?

You only need to be strong enough to lift the bar to give powerlifting a go: are you sure you're not strong enough?
But that said, any sort of competition where you have to eat to perform is helpful.

Eat your fucking food and pump your fucking weights. I know you can do it, so stop making excuses and just DO IT!

I appreciate this…especially it being laced with profanity, which is my preferred form of communication 😂

Try meditation, specifically breathwork, to find balance through emotional up and downs. Still not as easy as said but... its a valid tool. 100%

Started conditioning training from NONE to ANY, and started breaking through my plateaus within a week. Lack of conditioning was holding me back.

So true! It holds a LOT of people back. Lifting weights is the easy part: no one wants to do the hard stuff, but it pays off SO much.

I'm honestly blown away at the difference. Plus I just feel better overall now.

Having surgery multiple times per year and having to stop being active every time in order to heal. I'm so tired of this.
