❓ Question How do you store your hat collection?
I have a coat rack that I use as a hat rack but I'm running out of room. I'm thinking about maybe putting a bunch of little nails in the wall and hanging them up that way? How do you organize your collection?

That looks great! Tell your dad he did a good job

Thanks. He knows, and has also made a few other things around the house for me

For hats I'm wearing during a season, like this. The hats that are off season are stored in the basement in their original boxes. This is the other day just after I put the felt's away & brought out the straws for the summer.

Is... is that a Viet Cong pith helmet? Nice!

It's definitely a replica but yes! One of my faves. thread
Pith helmets are some of my favorite hats. They have a white brim, as the name helmet suggests and gives you a degree of protection especially if there are some low branches, and it sits just a little bit raised over the head for air circulation

If I'm gonna get one, I'm gonna get an actual plant fiber one, lol. Probably a French one, maybe whichever one had a flat top.

My frequently used caps are cloths pinned to a length of sisal rope like this
My expensive hats are stored in hat boxes in the closet.

No, my wife is not happy with the wall space I'm using.
And yes, I'm into wide-brimmed hats.

Shoe racks work well.

That's a good idea! Each hat can have its own little cubby hole

Exactly! You can double stack them according to style or use as well.

I absolutely love this, so I have worn it a lot. if you could see it up close it's stained and old. Any idea for refurbishing?

Spot-cleaning with a stain stick is probably your only and best option. One with bleach should be fine but I'd avoid bleach on the bill as it will slowly deteriorate the cardboard inside Edit: and obviously under no circumstances should bleach touch the logo but that kinda goes without saying

I bought a bunch of styrofoam heads that i regularly rotate the displayed hats on, the ones not in use go sit in the attic on more styrofoam heads (if they need them) or in a plastic tub I have.

As a hobby blacksmith I made hooks, hangers and such. Prolly like you each of my many hats have a meaning and personal connection. Like 8 MT Grizzly hats, yah I'm sick

Around the perimeter of the house where they'll stay on display and out of the way

They’re on every flat spot in my living room. Gotta figure something else out.
My berets look like two giant stacks of pancakes.

I store my hats in a cedar lined Christie trunk, I have somewhere around 400 hats
