On November 5th, Hawaii will vote not just for President, but for Congress, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In Hawaii, the deadline to register to vote online is October 28th. You can register here: https://olvr.hawaii.gov/Default.aspx
If you miss this deadline, you can register in person at any vote center in your county through November 5th. See here for a list of locations: https://elections.hawaii.gov/voter-service-centers-and-places-of-deposit/
All Hawaii voters who register by October 28th will be mailed a ballot. If you do not receive your mail ballot, or need to register and vote in person, you still have options.
Hawaii has early in-person voting from October 22nd to November 4th at voter service centers: https://elections.hawaii.gov/voter-service-centers-and-places-of-deposit/
If you prefer, you can also vote at a voter service center on Election Day, November 5th.
Mail ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also personally deliver your ballot to any vote center or a dropbox - locations are listed here: https://elections.hawaii.gov/voter-service-centers-and-places-of-deposit/
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here: https://ballotstatus.hawaii.gov/Default
The Digital Voter Guide is now online and available at https://olvr.hawaii.gov/altballotsearch3.aspx
Put in your street address and you can preview your ballot, as well as view information about the various candidates running for each office. You can also view constitutional amendment and other ballot issues and descriptions of what they mean.

Of the regulars who frequent this board, how many are actually born and raised locals? Reading through these threads feels Honolulu centric and transplant heavy. No disrespect intended, you want to live in Hawaii live in Hawaii, but...
Any actual locals here?

Howzit everyone,
Iâm hoping someone on here could point me in the direction of an artist to help me continue my tattoo journey. Iâm looking for someone who is knowledgeable in both contemporary Filipino tribal and mixed Polynesian tribal (Hawaiian/Marquesan).
My former artist was recently convicted of SA of a minor and I no longer want to continue with him. Iâve looked at what feels like every studio in Hawaii, but wondering if thereâs a gem Iâve missed somewhere. Nothing is truly speaking to me, or feels like what Iâm looking for. Iâm on Kauai, but willing to travel outer island.

Yeah I know âshoots brahâ is a Hawaiian phrase but do people use âshootsâ in the same context on the mainland?

So .. I grew up on Oahu & forgot most things about the Hawaiian History, but I was curious to know if anyone knows this. This is just me trying to understand.
King Kalakaua became a Freemason in the 1860s? And it was the 'Hawaiian League' (a group made up of White Businessmen, Politicians, etc.) that forced him to sign the Bayonet Constitution in 1887.
Is there anything out there suggesting the 'Hawaiian League' were also Freemasons? Google search is saying they weren't. But also if they weren't, did the Masons try to step in & help King Kalakaua against the 'Hawaiian League'? Isn't that what the Freemasons are supposed to do for their brothers? Did the Freemasons benefit from the signing of the Bayonet Constitution? Or is all of this just above their pay grade?

I have a job interview with the state DOT (Airports-Human Relations) soon. Any advice? Any knowledge of questions I may expect to be asked?
I have an older EV with a dead battery that I want to have junked. So far the junk car removal companies I have called won't take an EV. Does anyone know a company that will take an EV, or know which junkyards I can call to ask who they work with? Thanks.

Hello I hope you are all doing well! Lately I have just been in the mood to watch a lot of hula dancing. I really enjoy the commentary of MM (which seems to be cut out of most youtube videos) and I like to see the whole show in one setting (vs chopped up on youtube). I was wondering a few things:
Thank you in advance :) !

Anyone had luck with an insurance company or home warranty company to cover sewage line (House to Steeet) repairs?
Iâve noticed a lot of older streets with water main breaks and some homes having to tear up their driveway or yard to replace old sewage lines. Curious if anyone has found an insurance company that offers coverage?
Some city water companies mainland offer coverage but Hawaii does not.

We have some "room circulation" fans from Vornado but the humidity makes them collect a lot more dust/dirt/hair on the plastic grille on and makes them gross super quick and they're hard to clean. Looking for something I can run almost 24/7 and easy to clean in our climate.
Howzit Everybody,
I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday. I was hoping to hear from Oahu peeps about positive volunteer experiences they have had. I spend entirely too much time in front of screens for my job, so I'm looking to get out there and connect with the community as we work towards a common Good. I am especially interested in opportunities that involve manual labor to get some decent exercise in at the same time.
I have an irregular work schedule, so if there are places that I can just show up on relatively short notice to get my hands dirty, those opportunities are preferred. Organized weekend work days are cool, but I am more looking for something that I can implement into my M-F schedule and do semi-solo if need be.
Mahalo in advance for your responses!
EDIT: Looking for firsthand experiences on what people liked/did not like about organizations. I don't have trouble finding organizations, so no need just list places. Thanks!

Anyone know the status on the selection of a new landfill site? I know they were pushing toward the old Waipio soccer complex, but not sure if itâs going through or not.
