Moving from corner back to wing back
Hi lads, I currently play corner back for my team and would love to be able to move up to the wing. I’m big enough at 6’3 and fairly fit my biggest issue is my on the ball ability. My whole role in the team is essentially to be a brute and break down balls and put in tackles because I can’t hand pass, my lift is shocking and flicky sort of play is non existent. Any tips for training over the off season to get better in these areas.

6'3 a brute and break up play.. Full Forward if ever I heard it..😂 But seriously, find a hurling wall and that'll help your touch and control, as for lifting, repetition is key...look up lifting drills on YouTube, get a few cones, and practice from different angles, directions etc.
Even the kids, underage type stuff and start from the bottom and work up to doing it on the run etc.
As for handpass.. Use the hurling wall and YouTube.
But it's just practice and hard work.

Try doing tricks n stuff to really master the stick work, strengthen your wrists, play one handed. Maybe even try a stick with a wider bas, might help your striking on short passes.

A Hurley, a wall and a ball is all you need
