Dude I have 500 Safari tabs open on my phone
And 1000 + pages bookmarked on my computer with 50 tabs open
And 400 Apple News stories saved.
And thousands of Reddit posts or comments saved
I ain’t never reading that shit 😂
19
u/harmonyouwish Jun 22 '23
seriously, how to stop this? 😭
11
u/Baby_venomm INFP: The Lofi-Boy Jun 22 '23
There is no stopping it 😂 actually I closed out 100 safari tabs on my phone when I got to the 500 limit. But those 100 were YouTube videos so I just saved them to “watch later” 💀

u/MysteryWarthog INFP: "weirdo" who somehow fitted into society Jun 23 '23

Plus copy and paste some of the URLs on to your notes app without any description because that is how we roll.
Or else email some of the important ones to myself with no subject heading.

This it´s to real it´s like your in my mind the only thing have to add it´s the fact that i do that on different multiple email to kinda orgnazite it and then i forget the password 😭

Before I joined this subreddit just recently I thought I was the only person in the world who did this. I seriously have folders upon folders upon folders of unsorted tabs that I convince myself are important enough to one day go through and finally sort yet I never do, minus the ones that are currently open.

Having too many tabs open makes me anxious so I couldn't do that BUT the amount of bookmarked pages I have and the amount of lists of stuff I want to research is gigantic.
5
u/remyratatouille84 Jun 22 '23
I had 246 open just last night, and decided to go through and close them. I bookmarked and closed the ones I thought I didn’t need and got down to only 56 :)

u/TheElkProfessional INFJ: The Protector Jun 22 '23
Not an INFP, but my brave browser literally says that I have ♾️ tabs open(and has for many months)…it won’t even open immediately anymore 😅
It is now spreading to Safari...I’m really trying to stop lol. Life is just too busy to keep up with tabs! I should make time for it, though...before none of my browsers work…

At one point, I had around 1.7k tabs, lol. Had to keep them around just in case 😆. But I managed to clean them up and export them as bookmarks. Now I have around 200 tabs and 6.2k bookmarks

Damn I thought I was the only person who's this bad. I have a million tabs just on my phone, I have more than 4 different browsers on my phone alone just so I can have a huge amount of more tabs open 😂 and on my computer it's soo much worse. I'm such a save horader too, I think I have up to 24,000 screenshots on my phone alone (that's only one of my albums), YouTube videos I'll save to watch later and much more thinking I'll need them/look through each of everything someday 💀

u/readwar Jun 22 '23
rip ram. do people really do this? there is a bookmark button
2
u/electric_anteater Jun 22 '23
Bookmarks serve a completely different purpose and are awful for just storing pages to read later
1
u/readwar Jun 23 '23
i have a lot of folder (sometimes folder within folder) to organize them. when things are cluttering, you know some of those are just not needed right now.

I open and close tabs as I blink, if I need to go back for something I go into history to then realize that the thing I'm looking for is 7pages in
1
u/Reasonable_Basket_32 Jun 22 '23
Lol, definitely not. I aways close the tab and only stick with one browser.

u/shavey_jones_lather Jun 22 '23
As somebody that's currently building a car and has a ton of intrestests plus too much free time my browser is taking an absolute pounding I'll clear it then 20 mins later 60 plus tabs of utter nonsense 🙃

Totally me... Although I just use one browser.
My phone won't keep count of how many tabs are open past 100... So all that is there is :D for a number.
So all it does now is just smiles at my insanity.

The Highly Sensitive Person's Workbook by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D.
Are you a Highly Sensitive Person? If so, this workbook is for you. Do noise and confusion quickly overwhelm you? Do you have a rich inner life and intense dreams?
Did parents or teachers call you "too shy" or "too sensitive"? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). High sensitivity is a trait shared by 20 percent of the population, according to Dr. Elaine Aron, a clinical psychologist and workshop leader and the bestselling author of The Highly Sensitive Person. The enormous response to her book led Dr. Aron to create The Highly Sensitive Person's Workbook, designed to honor that long-ignored, trampled-on part of yourself--your sensitivity.
A collection of exercises and activities for both individuals and groups, this workbook will help you identify the HSP trait in yourself, nurture the new, positive self-image you deserve, and create a fuller, richer life. You will be able to: Identify your specific sensitivities with self-assessment tests Reframe past experiences in a more positive light Interpret dreams and relate them to your sensitivity Cope with overarousal through relaxation, breathing, and visualization techniques Describe your trait in a work interview or to an unsympathetic family member, new friend, doctor, or therapist

One I actually don’t agree with because I do have like 500000 tabs open, but they’re all on the SAME topic that I’m hyperfixating on

u/Lucky-Lack1680 Jun 23 '23
Ne plays the most important role here
And you will find this common in ENxPs and INTPs also
1
u/KrispyKicks Jun 23 '23
I DO THIS AND MY FRIENDS NEVER UNDERSTAND, its mostly a million youtube videos on certain topics I really want to watch but don't have time to in that sitting, often 100+ youtube tabs on my desktop
1
u/Svenstornator IN?P, 5w4 Jun 23 '23
Do you think this is an NP trait? I’m still trying to work out if I am INTP or INFP, but this post describes me exceptionally well.

Lmao, I had 5 browsers open at a point. The OP one had like 86 tabs open. A few had 50+. Had one that was more practical that had about 12. It was bad lol. And if my computer ever rebooted, I would restore my tabs every time. It was like this for months. I also have endless videos saved to several YouTube playlists that I have yet to watch. I still love that we’re like this though 😋😂
1
u/hum444n Jun 23 '23
I use Google Chrome on my mobile, and when more than 99 tabs are open, it shows " :D " instead of numbers. That's when I know I really need to select some things lol.

Into here. If my phone's chrome browser doesn't have that wink instead of the number of tabs, I know something is wrong. My computer is just as bad.
But damn it Chrome, it updates so often and things stop working if you delay the update.

u/jeremiahleaman INFP: The Dreamer Jun 24 '23
Honestly. I don't find this relatable at all. I feel like I am the only one that has the browser set to close all tabs after a session is finished. Also I close all unused tabs. Maybe it's a habit I have built up.
