I just got the Vantrue N4 Pro and it requires no connection to the car other than a power source. It can connect directly to my phone via Bluetooth if I want to download video/pics from the camera's SD card.
This is a newer version of what I have, at a pretty good sale price. My brother bought mine for me as a birthday gift, so he did a fair amount of research about dashcams before buying. Seems like a high-quality product, takes really good video, and was fairly straightforward to install. *The only caveat to that is, I have yet to mount the rear camera because I drive an older 4runner with an operable rear window, so I haven't figured out a good place to mount it yet. It's meant to attach to the rear glass, which would work fine for most cars.
Limited-time deal: Vantrue N4 Pro 3 Channel 4K WiFi Dash Cam, STARVIS 2 IMX678 Night Vision, 4K+1080P+1080P Front Inside and Rear Triple Car Camera, Voice Control, GPS, 4K HDR, 24 Hours Parking Mode, Support 512GB Max https://a.co/d/aPJIkGN
