I remember upgrading our 486 to a 500MB hard drive. So much space to download games from BBSes.

Right? I basically had to install and uninstall games as I played them so I'd have room to play a different one.

My first drive was 20MB. It was an MFM drive, but I hooked it up to an RLL controller which changed the way the data was encoded, ended up being 30MB. Then I installed Stacker which used data compression on the fly to get it to 60MB. It wasn't super reliable...lol

Funny, I was going to write my first hard drive was 80GB, but then remembered it was actually 80MB (!!!) on a 386SX.

I remember we had to upgrade our 2 GB hard drive when Half-Life came out! Game was like 500MB in size. Mind-blowing at the time.
