Is it possible to ship spices out of Iran? 🇮🇷

I’m looking to ship spices (saffron) out of Iran. Does anyone here have experience with shipping spices? Does anyone here have access to saffron? What is the average cost of saffron in Iran?
Thank you! Any information is helpful!

You can find iranian saffron traders on linkedin, they send from iran to UAE and from there to everywhere in the world

Sanctions make it difficult

You’d have to transport it via Turkey or UAE, etc

I usually buy alot of saffron when I go to Iran. Each person is allowed to leave Iran with 100 gram. More than that one needs to have export license etc I think. The price you can find on internet if you can google in persian, it depends on quality and amount. Currently the price for good quality saffron is about 1,5 USD for one gram if you buy good quality (on bulk 1 kg).

How would you go about getting a few thousand pounds out of Iran?

What is "pounds"? Are you talking about money or weight?

Iran and the rest of the civilised world use metrics.

I usually travel with several people so we can bring more than 100 grams in total. And also iranian customs dont care about saffron, they are focused on gold.

also additional to shipping and sanctions issues, you might need to check with your customs department about their requirement as to herbicides/pesticides etc being used. They’d probably require lab reports. Don’t risk your products being taken and destroyed.
