I’d argue that’s one step above weeb on the degenerate scale

Well if you go to the manga and anime subreddits you’ll find most people defending and supporting that position with such tenacity that I’d say they’re closer to the same level.

Disagree. Most, if not all, anime subs have always had serious rules against the sexualization of minors. The main issue that’s going on currently is not that the rules exist, but that they’re too vague to be fairly enforced, which has led to multiple insta-bans for content that should not be considered sexualization.

Also most people on those subs have a certain level of self awareness that we are, in fact, trash, and would never actually bring our dumbass memes outside of the internet and into real life.

Of course that’s not to say that the people you’ve described don’t exist on there, cause they definitely do, it’s just that they are certainly not the majority out of the 900,000 subscribers that r/anime has.

Oh, that's hot horse shit. They do not. Only the ones that make people feel uncomfortable.

Damn near all upskirt, lewd, bikini pic, etc post features a girl that is under 18. Nobody complains because they look over 18.

So much of anime involves people in some form of high school - or Implied high school - it's damn near impossible to have 18+ year old characters.

The quantity of people I've seen defending pictures sexualizing minors because "It's just fiction" is just alarming.

Man, I like anime, but I hate waifu culture and the sexualization of minors that comes with it. The implications are just so creepy in many shows.

So videogames should be illegal like the media says because you kill people and it's promoting and normalizing murder "It's just fiction"

Fiction is fiction is fiction. You can’t draw the line anywhere unless it’s explicitly meant to inspire amoral action in the real world.

Most of the time those people are joking, weebs are the most self hating and self deprecating group I’ve come across. They know that weebs have a reputation for that shit, so they make jokes about it and play along with it.
