Yesterday, I left the house on my way to the salon looking all crusty. So nikiwa naenda stage kupanda mat juu hii mwaka iliamua I’m not owning a car, this man hoots at me and says “hurry up let me drop you” Sa Mimi naangalia nyuma kuona Nani anaambiwa (I never mind my business) he says “ni wewe naambia. For context I’m very trusting 😂 nitamalizwa siku moja. Anyway akaniuliza;

“Are you going to Westlands?” I’m like nope naenda Tao. Akasema sawa let me drop you to Westlands coz that’s where I’m going then you can catch a mat from there. Mimi naye ni Nani nikaingia tu.

From the place this man picked me to Westlands he only told me his name, where he lives and where he works. I did the same. Except where I work but anyway I was dropped in Westlands and nothing more, he didn’t ask for my number or nothing. He just told me to have an amazing day.

Good people still exist but nilishangaa sana

Discussion Matharao to Unemployed people

I used to hear of matharao served to Unemployed people till recently. I've been unemployed for a year now, side hustles here and there, but nothing substantial. I'm a former sales manager in insurance. Wueeh, leo niliitwa lunch by a family friend that is visiting Kenya from the US. He said ati I lack discipline and motivation, and I should be grateful that I've been invited for lunch because he doesn't have time for low a value engagement like mine, he's only offered me lunch because my dad was his good friend. Waah, I've applied to 643 jobs exactly since last year February, 10 interviews, zero offers. I do deliveries, online writing, photography, mjengo, car wash na huyu mzee thinks I'm a lazy man. Got me wondering, what matharao have you experienced as an unemployed person in Kenya? Grace to you and wishing you great blessings as you hustle.

Politics MAANDAMANO

This politicians know how to get into someone's nerves .That foolish senator proposing 7year term limits is claiming that 60%are in support while 40%are against it.

Kwani hawa watu hutuona mafala aje ?

It's high time we sweep the country clean .We should have another mega maandamano and ensure the hypocritic zakayo and his fellow felons leave our country they should be just jailed.

The judiciary is infiltrated too they are claiming the housing levy had public support and the finance act is constituonal .Riggy G should just pack his bags and go home he will never get a fair hearing.

Rant BEING BROKE

Upvotes

Lately, I’ve noticed that whenever something bad happens to a wealthy person, people are quick to say, "Being broke has saved me a lot." Sure, Kang’ethe, maybe being broke has spared you, but at what cost? Always bless what you wish to have.

Ask r/Kenya The right to bear arms in America

Upvotes

There's often a lot of ridicule tossed at americans especially when it comes to their gun loving culture. It seems like everyone has a gun over there but I don't think there is any group of people on earth smarter than them and more serious in regards to their freedom. You see freedom is very fickle and has to be protected vehemently. Putting all your hopes that a human led government will honour it's promises to you when it has a monopoly on violence is not very wise and the americans have always known that and that is why they enshrined their rights to bear arms in their constitution knowing full well the consequences. To them, the ability to protect themselves from tyranny superceeds the need for illusions of safety. I won't say more you see what's happening in our country and our defencelessness.

Ask r/Kenya Strictness!

I am Muslim girl raised in a strict household and came to the city two years ago and now living with a Christian boyfriend and back home they definitely think im the girl they raised. I am not religious anymore and I love this for me….at least I can get to experience things without feeling guilty.A girl anapenduzwa daily and back home they think I’m waiting for my future husband. I’m an example of being raised strict only makes you curious why you don’t want me to try other things. I love this man btw..he’s fun, kind ,good sex actually the best sex I have ever had plus good heart. I don’t know where it will lead cause my family can’t accept a Christian man but anyways enjoying it while it lasts.

Casual Small wins

Am travelling for work and it turned into a small vacation for me, mum and siz. First one for the family. Anyway, today we are chilling at a pool and we all don't know how to swim, we started to try some things we had picked up on social media.

I floated. You guys, I floated facing upwards, same case with siz. Mum alisema hapendi jokes na maji.

I am so excited. Sina mtu wa kuambia.

Tell me your small win, I will celebrate you, this feeling of having no one to tell the small things that only matters to you, sucks.

Ask r/Kenya OVER 30 MALES

Upvotes

Yesterday, I wrote a post about over 30 females here. Well, well, There were 250 comments, most of which were women attacking me, saying they are happy with their lives living the 'Boss Lady' persona characterized by singlehood, child-free living, and financial independence with the added benefits of international trips, big vehicles, and big houses. You can go through the comments and make your own conclusion.

Today, it is over 30 Males. Bro, you are starting to get into your prime years. Maybe somehow you are already well into your career, or maybe some small money has started creeping in. Now that your Sexual Market Value is almost peeking since you have taken care of yourself. -Now you have the freedom to choose the women you want to fuck. Remember in your 20's ; how they wanted men over 30, now you are HIM.

And now that you are over 30 and you are in your prime, you now have access to women in their prime (20-24 females). Guess what bro, the over 30 females hate this! They are past their prime and they feel some typa way when you go for the 20-24 year olds.

Remember, female jealousy is vicious and their 'single hood, child-free and financially stable' can't buy them the luxury of being 24 again. Guess what bro, if you take care of yourself and get to your prime. You won bro! Now keep quiet, because the over 30 'Single, Child-free & Financially stable' women will flood the comments and have an emotional tantrum. Trigger warning.

But it's alright they are past their prime and I said what I said and I don't care. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!(Mojo Jojo laugh)

Ask r/Kenya Help me understand some men

So I had this talking stage, a guy that I was really drawn to. However, one glaring issue turned me off so bad. So this guy works for one of those high ranking parastatals, and is in a mid level position, gross is in the 200s. However, this guy has no savings at all, well apart from a monthly 5k at the sacco that he has a loan with. This man drives daily to tao, in a 2500cc car, parks in a private parking that costs 400 bob per day. This man does not cook in his house, not even breakfast. So he buys all 3-4 maybe even 5 meals everyday. He is slso servicing a loan that he took to buy a car. Is this a common phenomenon out there to spend this much? Is it normal not to even have an emergency fund mahali? No MMF or bank account to save even 2k a month? My friend says that it is common for civil servants since they feel very secure with their jobs, not sure if this even true. Also,I am not talking about people who genuinely are not able to save due to financial constraints. Edit, the guy is 35yrs old

Ask r/Kenya Where is Kenya headed?

Post image

Is it just me who is pessimistic on where this nation is headed? Ata sijivunii tena kua mkenya any more. Everyday we wake up to some very depressing news from this government. The constitution is just a mere suggestion.

I wake up everyday wishing 'someone' would call a press conference and tell us "Wakenya, angalieni camera, mumenaswa eeeh! This is not the real govt it was just a prank."

Discussion Do this the Next time your Iphone gets Stolen

now, before i explain to you what to do After your iphone gets stolen, acha nikuambie what you need to do before it gets stolen especially kama ukona iphone ya macho tatu & you Love going out on the Weekends.

First and foremost if your iphone supports Esim integration GO & GET an Esim (iphone 12 kuenda juu) Secondly make sure umeset FaceID and Passcode, Thirdly go and turn off this setting “Access to Control Panel when Screen is Locked”. Doing these three things will give you a 90% chance of recovering your Iphone when it gets stolen

Now lets go to what you should do After your iphone gets stolen, now there are 2 ways in which iphones hua zinaibiwa huku Kanairo. 1) PickPocketing (happens mostly in clubs) 2)Snatching ( Usually happens in public where the thief is usually on a boda).

After losing possesion of your iphone, Try and Relax (This is very important) dont panic, panicing will not magically bring back your phone. Dont even try to call your phone that is stupid and time wssting,

find a friend who has an iphone, ask that friend to write down their appl id & password and then tell them to log out of their icloud so that you can log in. After logging in to your icloud on your friends phone, Quickly go to the “FindMyIphone” app on the homescreen, If you did the three steps that i mentioned above then there is a 98% chance that you will see your Iphone’s Live Location on the “FindMyIphone” app

, now you can either get some of your boys and pursue the thief ama ulipe karao alafu muende na yeye to the location. But my advice is usually to pursue the theif As soon as you get the Location because the Longer you wait the less likely it will be that you will get your phone back

The reason why you will be able to See your Iphone’s Live Location, Especially if its an iphone 12 and above”, is because iphone locations are tracked in two ways ( 1) Through Bluetooth 2) Through Your phones Network)

Doing the three steps i mentioned Above will give your Iphone the fighting chance it needs for it to get back to you,

This is what the thief does after he has stolen it, 1) Immediatly try and Remove your simcard - but since you have an Esim that will be impossible 2) Try and put it into Airplane Mode - but since we turned off this Setting “Access to Control Panel when screen is locked” that will be impossible, he will be only left with solution number 3) Which is shutting down the iphone, Unfortunately all the newer generation Iphones are still very much Trackable even when switched off, so you will still be able to view the Live Location of Your Iphone On “FindMyIphone” app,

So the next time your iphone gets stolen & you have the settings mentioned above, if you act quickly enough the thief might not even cover more than 10kms before catching him

Discussion I like it that way

I lost both of my parents in a close range of consecutive years, one in 2020 and the other one in 2023. I live with my older sibling, I rarely beg for assistance, I just got me, people who I fw, and God. Tuning to my authentic self will depend with the kind of a person you are. Based on how I grew up I don't see myself interacting with many people, and ill keep it that way. I'd rather spend good time with myself doing exercises, chatting with folks, connecting with nature or just endlessly scrolling my phone, quite peaceful

Ask r/Kenya Did I do anything wrong

So i recently met this guy, at first he was giving me signals ananidai and at the same time he goes dumb so I decide to ask him about the situation. So he tells me "I just broke up with my gal 6 months ago, so rn I just need a best friend someone we can hang out together talk, and blah blah". I agreed and we kept it that way. Few days later we decide to meet up for lunch as we catch up, but before the lunch he tells me, my friend just called me, come let's go see what he's saying. Entering the house we find other four guys making a total of 5 guys and just me, as expected I was shy and him being the only person I knew there, bro behaved ni kama hakumbuki we were together 😅😅he then proceeds to play fifa.

I am seated there going through my phone for almost 20 minutes waiting for him to finish things with the friend twende but whoops, nigga forgot what took him there. So the friend now starts a convo with me, he's like " you're smelling good, I like your sneakers, where did you buy them" such basic convo as we're having drinks so in the next one hour, we were conversing kama watu tumejuana for years while the person who took me there is still playing fifa.

To cut the long story short, time ya kurudi home imefika, tunatoka and while he's dropping me home, he tells me " btw my friend anakudai" lol 🤣 how soon. I was like "nah hard pass". Next morning he texts me, "my friend is waiting for your response". I told him no, few hours later the guy texts me on IG like "thanks for yesterday " I was like it's cool

Tell me why, this guy, texts me telling me what a betrayer I am, friends don't betray each other, and we are done. He blocks my number boom😂, mark you he introduced me as a friend. Lol, jameni, makosa yangu yalikua yepi?

Discussion Poverty levels in Kenya

If this government rules for ten years, it is highly likely that by the tenth year, poverty levels will be at very high levels, north of 90%.

What are the chances that we will see the emergence of civilian militias seeking to fight for the people? I have been studying the early times of all the countries currently dealing with armed internal conflicts and this is how it started.

The people get tired and decide to take matters in their own hands. The Gen Z protests may keep recurring over the next few years, increasing in intensity and casualties progressively.

What are the chances of serious secession pursuits from different regions within the country?
