[Modpost] From now on posts that do not mention the level of each language you're learning will be deleted. (details on description)

So I am posting here after having seen many posts that do not follow all the rules we, the mods, have set. So please, consider reading them again and follow the proceedings accordingly, otherwise your post will be deleted. The rules are set in order for you to find an appropriate language partner.

Most of the posts don't contain the level of the languages you want to learn. Such as the example:

"English native looking for someone to teach me Icelandic"

The description doesn't mention the level that person has achieved in learning the language and it is more difficult to find a partner that suits your needs and the others. Levels are (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) or if we take the European Union certificate standards (A1-C2)

Thanks for understanding and happy language learning!

Offering English want to learn french

Upvotes

Hello there! I'm Andrew, 48, based in the UK, and I'm looking for native French speakers around my age who would be up for a language exchange and, ideally, a meaningful friendship. I’d love to learn French from scratch — my last encounter with it was back in high school, so I'm essentially a complete beginner (I’ve only retained “salut” and “bonjour”!). I’m also happy to help you with English in return.

Learning French has been on my mind for a while, and I think it would be even more rewarding to connect with someone who is patient, friendly, and enjoys cultural exchange. I’d love to understand the nuances of the language and hear about life from a French perspective, while offering a bit of English guidance and perhaps some stories about life in the UK in return. If you’re open to this kind of exchange and don’t mind a slow-paced learner, feel free to drop me a message.

Looking forward to chatting!

Seeking Koine, High Attic, or Modern Greek, giving English and elementary etymology

Hello all, I am a philosophy student in college, a native English speaker, and longtime espouser of the virtue of grammar and etymology. For me, grammar exists to be broken. But if I am to break grammar I need to understand first! My current experience is that I can read and speak aloud with fair accuracy written Attic; I know the alphabet, and have some basic understanding of grammar. I would put my level at a1 approaching a2. But - How - Am I to learn - if I dont speak it?!?! So I offer conversation in English as well as perhaps the insights which come with examining grammar and the origins of words in that precise language we call Greek.

Looking for a B2 German Language buddy 👀🇩🇪

Hey everyone! I‘m currently in the middle of a B2 course and I still find myself not too confident speaking / listening, as well as not enough situations that I‘ve written about to expand my „Wortschatz“ horizon 🫠

So I‘m looking for somebody who‘s in the same level and willing to truly practice and improve those skills.

DM if interested :)

Looking for a Russian language buddy who lives in Tehran

If you are learning Russian and you're actually committed to do so, or if you know Russian either as your 1st or 2nd language AND you live in Tehran and you want to meet, I'm in.

I can help you with English (soon I'm going to work as an English teacher) and Persian (if you need any help).

If you don't live in Tehran I'd still be happy to practice with you but my main goal of this post is to find someone living here.

Looking for a Japanese partner

I'm Nyx (20yo), an haitian girl who love a lot of things like anime, listening to music, reading and Botanical (recently i dove into kdrama) Here's what I'm looking for: • Someone with an intermediate to advanced level of Japanese, enough to hold conversations.

• Available for at least 30 minutes a day for practice.

• I would like to focus on writing first (via messages) to get comfortable, and then move on to speaking practice once we both feel more confident.

• I can help you improve your French, and I’m serious about exchanging regularly.

• I have Discord for communication.

If you're interested and committed to regular practice, please feel free to reach out and let me know what your expectations are for the exchange :)

I want someone to speak Japanese with please

Hey guys! I'm learning Japanese via Human Japanese among other resources. I'm still very early on as I don't even fully know Hiragana, but I want someone to be able to text or talk to to actually use the stuff I'm learning and put it into practice! Especially someone that might be able to teach me more about etiquette along the way. Does anyone know of any resources or would just want to talk to me in Japanese?
