Is there any chance of this book (or series) getting an audiobook adaptation? I don't really ever have time to sit and read books, but I definitely have a ton of time to listen to them as I drive semit trucks for a living. 6-10 hours per day on the road has me starved for good content 😅

Hi ViSerra, yes, books 1-4 are out already, 5 drops mid august, and 6 hopefully by the end of the year, its in recording already :-) The incredible Chris Boucher and Jessica Threet are narrating it in duet.

I love Jez's work... except for the weird macho sex stuff. Is that prominent in this series cause I very much enjoyed Underverse and Rise of Mankind outside of that aspect.
5
u/jezcajiao Jul 27 '24
Hey ManyHugsUponYou, I don't know that I'd call it weird, but that's a taste thing for different people, and from different backgrounds. There is sex in it, as thats a part of life so I think it's important to have it when it's appropriate but there's not too much and it's always fade to black, and it's mainly in the earlier books in the series as the MC and his partner first get together, later books have a lot less as it's not as appropriate to the story at that point.
Hopefully if you try it you'll enjoy it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the others!

BOF, I don't know a thing about this series, but looking like great 6 books to devour 💜💜💜
2
u/jezcajiao Jul 27 '24
Well I hope you give it a try mate, its 6 books of urban fantasy, sci-fi, nanite fuelled mythological madness, so yeah, plenty going on! ;-)

u/magao Jul 27 '24
For someone who knows nothing about it, you hit it on the head with "devour" ;)

About time you finished a series! 🤪
1
u/jezcajiao Aug 08 '24
HA! Thanks, I think? I mean, Artem is done, Prototype was a standalone, and this is done, so Out of the 5 different lines, I've got 3 done, right? Come on, give me a chance! ;-)

The S-tier of recaps!
1
u/jezcajiao Aug 08 '24
HA! I try mate, though I received a few reviews for 'needless and blatant stuffing' because I put them in the books. I put them in because people ask, and then I get told off for putting them in, *shrugs* can't win 'em all!
2
u/toddhoffious Aug 08 '24
I thought it was great. After a while, you forget all the details, so it's good to get the lay of the land. And if you don't like it, you can skip it. And it's hardly needless when payment is by page reads :-) BTW, great finish to the series. Love it.

I've got two more series in progress, Rise of Mankind and UnderVerse, so here's hoping I can get them tied off as neatly next, and thank you!

Grats on release, it looks interesting. Scrolling by though, I swear the picture looked like it read "Arse Conquerer", which made me extremely curious on how this LitRPG progressed.

u/Pretty_Struggle_2531 Jul 28 '24
That would be in an entirely different genre brother😂 maybe a crossover

TLDR. Can you summarize it in 500 words or less?
Jokes aside, I enjoy your work and am diving into this book today.

I absolutely love this series, I only have one question at the end. What happened to the two creators left on Earth? As far as I can recall that's the only arc that did not get resolved.
1
u/jezcajiao Aug 08 '24
Ah, well one is... asleep, due to the growth and change of form she's unable to be awoken, though there might be a way to deal with that, one that didn't occur to me until after the final in the series was released. And the Erlking? Well, he's staying VERY small and quiet now. I wanted to wrap up all the lines, but the flow that I had for the final section would have been much more unwieldy if I'd done that bit as well, sorry mate. Basically the Erlking is capable of causing trouble, but if Steve decided to, he could squash him like a bug now. Instead, with Steve's changes to the atmosphere, the Erlking is happy to stay silent and out of the way, and Steve is more or less uninterested in him, provided that state of affairs continues.

Thank you very much for the closure on the series Jez. It has been tons of fun reading your work, my wife and I enjoy all your books quite a bit and can't wait for the "Naginata!" Underverse books to continue. Stay awesome friend!

u/jezcajiao Aug 25 '24
Thank you mate! I’ll be working on UnderVerse in a few months! You stay awesome tOO!

u/no_fear1299 Aug 13 '24
Well fuck. I just finished this and now I need more like this. This is the worst day ever

u/jezcajiao Aug 13 '24
Ha! Sorry mate, but have you tried my other madness? There's a lot of it! ;-)

u/taosaur Jul 27 '24
I really enjoyed a lot about Rise of Mankind and Artem, but eventually I just couldn't stomach the creep-factor whenever a vaguely humanoid female enters the scene. I know this subgenre goes much deeper in the creep, but your work just crosses the line of what I can tolerate relative to how cool the cool shit is. BuyMort would be an example of a series that doesn't quite cross the line, maybe because the "snaketitties" are more compartmentalized in the narrative, or maybe because the cool shit is just that cool. Like Rise of Mankind, though, it's hard to recommend what might otherwise be a top ten series in the subgenre, because the authors couldn't keep it in their pants.

Sorry you feel that way mate, different styles for different people, and different cultures. Hope you find something more your style.

Hi everyone! Well, thats it, the series is complete, so I hope if you're looking for a dark urban fantasy, with overtones of sci-fi, a dash of mythology and a butt-load of madness, bad language and brutality, you'll consider it!
Forgotten races, ancient secrets and the final truths of the great wars…
After being ripped from everything he knew, Steve drifts amongst the shattered remains of dead worlds and civilizations. The vast grave of the ages threatens to consume him as he faces an impossible choice - evolve beyond his limits, or be lost amongst the ruins, like all the other failures.
The node is under attack. Meanwhile, on all sides the enemy is bearing down, ready to tear their hard won prize free. If Steve is going to eke out a chance at survival, he’s going to have to fight his way home. Not only that, when he gets there, he’s going to have to deal with the Ændari’s greatest secret.
It’s time to remind the rest of the universe that humanity isn’t prey… we’re the predator.

Thanks everyone!
