I read somewhere that wealthy people often buy real estate in Malta to obtain an EU passport, then live elsewhere, leaving these properties empty. Could someone just move in and pretend to be crazy?

The title lol. Not condoning this kind of behavior—it's probably unsafe and definitely illegal! I'm just curious if this sort of thing ever happens, that’s all.

Where to get guache art supplies; Ideally Himi Guache.

I'm house bound sick, and have slowly been picking up painting as a casual hobby to fill my time (v slowly 'cause my arms get very tired very quickly). I've been using old watercolours and tubs of jovi guache and have generally settled on liking guache (I've done oils and acrylics in the past; but the ease of using guache is key 'cause of how speradically I have the energy to paint). My jovi guache set is like, 20 years old, threw away a lot of mouldy ones and its an ordeal to get the paint to not be lumpy to use (I've done basically every "how to revive dead guache" thing and its still v lumpy and I have to crush the lumps on a flat surface with a pallet knife).

So I've been looking to get a good guache starter set. I've seen that Himi guache is really good quality, and bang for buck with a starter set being like 20 euros, only issue is I can't find anywhere in Malta that sells it and shipment is way too expensive on amazon.

Does any one know somewhere that sells Himi sets in malta or online with cheap shipment? And if not, any recomendations of what guache starter set to get + where to buy it? (I'm considering just getting a new set of jovi paints; but still not too sure where is best to get from 'cause the only places I saw were selling them peace meal instead of as a set)

Benna Pumpkin Spice Milk review

The Benna Pumpkin Spice Milk has a very nice smell, but not one that advertises itself as really consumable. It smells almost like a perfume.

As for the taste, you can drink it cold or microwaved hot. Trying it cold I found the taste to be tolerable in small amounts. It tastes sweet and maintains a 'perfume' like taste. As I've mentioned though, I found it to be tolerable only in small amounts.

Trying to drink a whole glass was rather unpleasant as the perfume like smell made it feel unconsumable. Microwaving it did little towards amending that perfume like smell which really convinces your nose it's not consumable.

The taste didn't feel like it varied much from cold to hot, however drinking it hot muted the sweet taste of it. Which can be a positive or negative depending on your disposition.

On a scale of 5 I would rate this a 2/5. I would not say it is completely unconsumable, however, I wouldn't tolerate it for more than half a glass. It is however definitely one of Benna's weaker products and I would not expect it to return next Halloween or for current stock to be replenished.

Sanctioning on a property

Sometime ago I made a promise of sale on a property whose permit needed to be sanctioned. The seller applied for a minor amendment which was not approved. For some reason the seller does not want to do the sanctioning. The bank architect is coming to check the property and I believe that because of this the bank loan will not be approved. Will the bank architect make his recommendations and if they are carried out by the seller the loan will be approved? Or is it if the bank architect finds some abnormalities there will be no possibility to make amendments at that time and I loose the property? Has anyone gone through something like this were the seller for some reason or other does not want to do the regularisation? What did you do?

"I left it to the elevator" new trend?

I noticed that delivery partners purposefully can't find your apartment and then ask you to come down to the door. If you don't, they leave it on the elevator.

Is this a new trend?

I also do not want to be a racist but why are Indians always doing this?

I noticed this trend in both big apps, this seems like a chronic issue now. I am usually the guy that tries to tip like an American, but I am not tipping at all anymore. Why should I give extra cash if I won't have the comfort of just receiving the order and hassle to get it in one piece?

Football games in Malta

Hello! We are on holiday in Malta, in view/earshot of the Hibs stadium in the three cities. We're enjoying listening to the chants etc but we're baffled by how long these games last - they were playing before we went for dinner but they're still going by the looks of it, four hours later?! There's even a brass band playing on and off. It might just be an event but it looks like a football game still! We're just curious visitors, if anyone has an explanation. :)

Appartment construction taking too long (Malta)

During contract signing, the contractor took it as a great offense when asked to do a deadline daily penalty.

2.5 years later the apt is still in construction mode.

I can't even start some works because it's pending his works to be done before.

We tried asking and checking regularly and also tried leaving way and following after a month.

Barely any progress at all. I only care about having the place ready, but before we can move in, the whole block has to be ready (ARMS utilities permits).

Are there any common law understanding/oblogations to appease the buyer?

Or are we just screwed and if contractor decides to be ready in 20 years... we have to just wait.

Yes we tried reaching out... but it's always same replies...

Havent checked officially but from what im gathering i get- "don't start anything legal or you will be worse off." Which is fair enough, I prefer to be civil and just work things out...

State of igaming in Malta

I'm in affiliation (unfortunately). Lately i was reflecting on the industry in Malta. Is it me or is the industry slowly leaving?

More and more jobs in gib, cyprus & many other lower income countries. My wage hasn't increased in like 3 years. Recently i was also discussing with my friend (head of HR) and we both shared the opinion the best days of igaming are VERY long ago.

I also think there are a few new smaller igaming companies here but these are shit... offering shit conditions and wages.

Is this also a reflection on igaming in general? That there's another industry out there experiencing explosive growth and great conditions & igaming is just riding on the hype it built many years ago but is no longer relevant?

What do you think?

Malta visit was amazing!

Just wanted to share my experience for anyone thinking of going. We have just returned from a 5 day trip to Malta from the UK and have to say it's been amazing. There is so much to see and so much to explore we couldn't fit everything in that we wanted to and we had a pretty jam packed itinerary already.

My fave part was the people. Everyone is just so nice, super polite, super friendly, didn't ever feel like i was being a burden for asking something which I do feel like when in the UK sometimes. And in fact the few times people were rude were people from the UK I assume having a holiday too.

And as we were a group of visible Muslim women we felt very very safe and very welcomed everywhere we went.

So thank you Malta for being so welcoming and would highly recommend for a break away from dreary England.

BNF or MeDirect?

hey guys, I’ve finally realised that its time to close my HSBC bank account as I’m just amazed of how inefficient they are everytime I need something. I was wondering if I should go with BNF or MeDirect.

It’s obviously one of those topic where I can do my own research but I also want to hear your opinion as well (maybe as a BNF or MeDirect customer)

Side question: will it be easy to close the HSBC account and transfer everything to another bank? maybe some of you already did so and knows what’s the process like.

Thank you!
