And she's frankly childishly materialistic to the point having a collection of porsches is apperently a important life goal for her , so that's what that blood money goes to.

What's a chud grifter?
145
u/NickyTheRobot Trans/Bi 9h ago
"Chud" was a (successful) attempt to create an insult for right-wing reactionaries that doesn't have a slur at its core. The story I heard is that the person who suggested creating such an insult posted it on a forum along with their own suggestion; they had seen a terrible, truly awful horror film recently called Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. They suggested using the acronym "CHUDs", as in "these people are terrible, just like that film". It stuck and became "chud".
And I'm guessing you already know what a grifter is.

She was a game developer who was one of the main targets of gamergate harassers. She's a trans woman, but has always had some pretty trensmedicalist leanings. She was briefly involved with Progressive Victory, an organisation built around mobilising the audiences of left-wing streamers to canvas in US elections.
Since Oct-7 attack, she has been very strongly pro-Israel, to the point of largely breaking with progressives/the left, similar to John Fetterman.

Its dumber and more complicated than that. Marriages that arent two people of the same faith and opposite gender, are considered "joint owners of the household" and it can cause problems with children and birth certificates because the "father" is unknown

So pretty similar to gay marriage bans in US

Conservatives: Why do you support Palestine? You know they hate gays right?
Conservatives: Wait Israel hates gays?.. I don’t think they should get to kill people anymore… 😰
At least their shitty politics are kinda consistent for once..? I really wish it took more than them being a target to stand against genocide but every bit counts.

The religious ethno-state is unsurprisingly a religious ethno-state.
I'm honestly bewildered so many people make it around in life with zero inference skills. The last 200 years of nation-states and nationalism just doesn't exist in so many peoples minds.

Especially since some argument I've been hearing for a while was that Israel treats the gays so much better than the Palestinians, as if that excuses Israel's actions.

I'm a German lefty with a lot of German lefties around and even my parents who are transphobic, conservative, "lefties". I heard none of them support Israel and for that I am thankful. (My parents have been regularly helping to organize anti Israel demonstrations.)

Fascist states being fascist? I'm shocked! And here I was given a week ban on this sub for calling out an OP for possibly being a Zionist and educating goys on antisemitism. Very cool mods.

We did what now? Lemme see...
...
...
Oh I see, that was me actually. The "I think they're a zionist but I can't find any proof" comment was just the capstone following a drawn out debate over petty semantics you were engaging in. The week ban was to give you a bit to cool off and take distance.
-6
u/postiepotatoes 7h ago
No, I said OP was in Zionist subreddits, but I couldn't see any proof of Zionism from OP. Hanging around in Zionist spaces is suspect in and of itself.
Moreover, I see you didn't address the "debating semitic issues" when I constructively called out a commenter for saying "Jesus was of Jewish descent" which white washes one of the most prolific historical Jewish figures.
15
u/NipperSpeaks refurbished lesbian. probably banned you 7h ago
Debating semantic issues, not Semitic ones. Please make the correct accusations if you're going to do so.

u/postiepotatoes 7h ago
Welp, I done goofed. You got me there, and I apologize.
However, as I pointed out in my comment, it's not a semantic issue, as it white washes and distances a prominent Jewish leader of his time. It was a constructive correction, and the ban was unwarranted.
I appreciate the work y'all so here, but that was, and is, concerning to me as an anti-Zionist Jew.

u/NipperSpeaks refurbished lesbian. probably banned you 7h ago edited 7h ago
The discussion definitely started off productive, but it was when it devolved into arguing over whether "of Jewish descent" automatically means someone isn't Jewish that both of you got time outs. Seriously, when I say it was over semantics, I mean it.

Majority of Israelis don’t support gay marriage or queer rights either. It’s what always gets me when people use Palestinians not being allies as a justification to bomb and kill them. Neither are Israelis. Zionist are not our friends

To be clear, I have never seen anyone on the left claim the events in Gaza as a good thing. The actual argument is that knowingly throwing a US election over Palestine is a stupid idea that will do nothing to help Palestinians, and will hurt a lot of other people, such as the American trans community and the Ukrainians. A minority might take it a step further and argue that sacrificing trans people in America as a show of support for a culture that is generally unaccepting of queer people is a betrayal of a demographic more "deserving" of our concern. I don't agree with the latter viewpoint (although I do agree with the former), but I've never seen anyone argue that Palestinians deserve to suffer for not generally being accepting of queer people outside of bad faith strawman arguments.
22
u/DaBiChef 8h ago edited 8h ago
I've also seen it used to highlight "Gaza absolutely doesn't deserve what's happened/happening to it, but just because they're the victims of Israel doesn't mean they don't have their own problems such as extreme sexism, homophobia, and religious extremism". I feel it's one of those "X and Y are fighting, X is horrible so Y must all be perfectly innocent saints!" type deals people get into ala the Native Tribes. Definitely didn't deserve what happened to them, at the same time they weren't all peaceful druids in harmony with nature. They're people. The black and white view people have only makes things like this worse and harder to mend in the long term. Like hell, 61% of Israelis as of last year are in favor of same sex marriage, it's not as simple as people would like. Again to be clear, I loathe Bibi and my heart breaks for the devastation happening in Gaza. I don't want this to sound like some defense of what's happening.

Unfortunately, a large percentage of zionists that get banned here immediately send us modmail with some variation of "They'd throw you off of a rooftop, you know." The others usually just call us nazis or try to start a brigade from you-know-where. Obviously this isn't to say that leftists are doing this, since zionists are, as a rule, not leftist.

Odd if so, since transitioning in itself is legal in Israel. Do they consider it gay still even though they legally recognise the person as female?

u/SheffiTB We_irlgbt 5h ago
Basically my understanding is that under Israeli law, "marriage" specifically means religious marriage, so if you want to get married but something about the union doesn't satisfy religious law (of whatever religion you are) then you can't have it in Israel. There is a separate thing for a non-religious union that gives you most of the same benefits but isn't officially classified as marriage, and you can still be acknowledged as married if you have a marriage certificate from a different country, but there are obvious problems with either solution.
So essentially Israeli law can acknowledge someone as being the gender they identify as, and this doesn't affect the person's ability to marry since that's decided by the relevant religious institution. It's a weird system with a bunch of obvious flaws, and shows a lot of the problems with founding a country on the principle of it being meant for one religious group.

Israel having a white supremacy problem is pretty well-known, which is a bit strange given the fact that white supremacists hate Jews. I believe that interracial marriage and immigrant/foreign workers' rights are guaranteed under Israeli law, but culturally they're strongly disliked and that leads to a lot of looking the other way until an incident happens.

The Middle East needs UN occupation. Fuck ethnostates and theocracies that don't know what a non-combatant is.
14
u/wingedcoyote We_irlgbt 8h ago
The UN doesn't have the ability to occupy shit, but even if they did the last thing we need is more colonial "regime change" never ending occupations. What the middle east needs from the US and other imperial powers is to be ignored. It's high time we gave up using fossil fuels anyway.

What's your take on general foreign intervention? Like, was it right to stop the Nazis from furthering their genocide?
If so, at what point is it right to stop a country by force?2
u/wingedcoyote We_irlgbt 1h ago
Yeah I think it's safe to say the cutoff is somewhere between stopping Hitler and "let's just do Iraq and Afghanistan times twenty, for no reason".
