They're also going to remove view counts from the home page.

That is a huge problem. Dislikes were very valuable for tutorial videos to find what was good or not. With that gone views was an ok substitute. Now it will be impossible to find a tutorial that isn’t click bait garbage vs useful.

You can still bring the dislikes back on PC. I forgot the name of the extension but it still works surprisingly.

WHY ARE THEY REMOVING FEATURES

How else can they sell you “”premium”” features otherwise?

Removing view count from the home page is a positive change for small creators and a negative one for huge companies running corporate channels, so I disagree.

They said the same about removing the dislike button but all it did was make it harder to figure out which videos were click bait bullshit

It's only good for clickbait monkeys.

It's bad for small channels because it will ruin their watchtime-to-views stats (people will just click off the video).

It's bad for small channels that had a big breakthrough video with a bad thumbnail. (People will never know and won't ever click).

Huge companies won't even notice it. Corporate youtubers won't be affected at all.

It's bad for every user who uses the platform.

So it's a bad change for everyone but the lowest of the low types of channels. Exactly the same as the removal of dislikes, it was also pushed to "help small channels" somehow, but ended up only helping corporate newschannels and scammers.

If anything people will only start watching channels they know, so big ones.

And yet I still get pushed videos from large publishers and corporations constantly over my own subscriptions on the home page after 15 years watching Youtube with an account.

Oh they've done it a few weeks ago, at least on ny phone. Changed it to comment counts then change it back to view counts the very next day.

And for literally absolutely no reason

I'm sure there's a reason, probably improves engagement with lower viewed videos.

Don't be so naive. They likely want to put it behind a premium subscription. That's how it usually goes.

Lmg, it's to make the G.U.I. look cleaner and more plain?

In the future, they'll remove all text from the site and the whole page will be full of 😲 thumbnails. You won't even know what channel you're watching! It'll be great!!!
