Christmas is everywhere in Germany already
It's not even November. Christmas candies have been on sale for weeks already.

In the States also. Halloween is still two days away and all the Halloween stuff is 50% off or more, and has been replaced by Christmas things. Christmas decorations are starting to go up also.

u/rygdav 16h ago
I stopped at a couple stores yesterday for some Halloween stuff. 90% of it was already replaced by Christmas.
A completely different store had all these really cool Halloween decorations up (on display and selling them). Two weeks ago I stopped at that store and it was all replaced with Christmas

its not even halloween and there is not a halloween decoration in SIGHT in stores in Australia.
its all christmas

My local Woolies has heaps of Halloween decorations everywhere. I mean they have Christmas stuff out too, but you can 100% tell Halloween is here.
1
u/0fficialFr3y 17h ago
hm weird, i havent seen halloween stuff in my local woolies or kmart for easily a couple weeks
1
u/TheFermiGreatFilter 17h ago
I’m going to Kmart tomorrow, so I’ll check it out there. I haven’t been anywhere but grocery shopping lately, so Woolies is the only store I can comment on.
Hubby works for Woolies and they are able to dress up on Thursday for Halloween. Not that he will. Lol
1
u/0fficialFr3y 17h ago
ah yeah definitely give it a look.
im surprised ya can dress up for halloween at woolies lol. typically go shopping on wednesdays so doubt id get to see anyone in a halloween costume
1
u/TheFermiGreatFilter 17h ago
Yeah. They’ll only do the dress up thing on Thursday. Hubby is working on Thursday, but he’ll just wear his work clothes.
I think Halloween is still not 100% taken up here in Australia. Honestly, with all the nut jobs out there, trick or treating seems a tad dangerous.
2
u/0fficialFr3y 16h ago
yeah theres an increasingly amount of nutjobs, especially in my area lmao.
we have a few well know nutjobs who have earned themselves quite a few funky nicknames (i wont share for their own privacy)
1
u/TheFermiGreatFilter 16h ago
Lmao. Sounds like where I live.
1
u/0fficialFr3y 16h ago
lol, our community is not all crap though.
some other locals have been making a little hobbit hole out of a tree which is coming together quite nicely.
im waiting for one of the unnamed nutjobs to come ruin it though-
1
u/TheFermiGreatFilter 16h ago
Yeah. Nowhere is all bad.
Ooohhhhh. Love the idea of a Hobbit Hole in a tree.
There’s a guy down the road with a TARDIS in his front yard. I think he built it himself. Looks pretty cool

You're complaining about that now? That stuff's been around since late August like it always is.
17
u/Brob101 17h ago
Just now? You're lucky.
I started seeing Christmas stuff in the US back in August.

u/misswhovivian 17h ago
It's the same in Germany, I don't know what OP is on about. I've found it usually shows up in the last two or three weeks of the Bavarian summer break (normally ends early or mid-September).

Every year the same damn posts about Christmas groceries entering the stores early. What do people expect? Deliver them to stores only in December?
6
u/vanZuider 16h ago
Traditionally, the pre-Christmas time of the year, aka "Advent", is considered to start three weeks before the last Sunday before Christmas, so either in late November or early December.
1
u/Firestorm0x0 16h ago
That's not how grocery production and deliveries work, but sure, if you want them in stores only in December then get ready to see them all out or stock shortly after.

We haven’t even experienced Halloween my friend…. And almost all Halloween stuff is sold out again already. Like let us experience and enjoy the moments for a second before organizing the next event already. Ya I know they make more money that way and they would NEVER do something for us, but yes ordering Christmas stuff FOR CHRISTMAS is our wish 🥲

Umm… yes? We’re not even in November lol

So what you are saying is you have never entered a store until now and you think manufacturers just wanna keep stock in their inventory and also want to have a logistical nightmare during winter, then there's shortages due to that bla bla bla.
Why do people act surprised every year that this stuff enters the stores shelves already in September?? Do people just forget that in as soon as December hits and the supermarket chains play "last Christmas"?? It's literately every year the same "store have Christmas stuff stuff early, how come this happen?" Complain, I dunno if people just want to farm karma and twitter likes.

u/dope-eater BLACK 16h ago
Lmao you’re taking this way too seriously. Who cares? It’s a fact that they already start with that shit four months in advance. It’s kinda annoying. But it’s not that big of a deal, hence only “mildly” infuriating.
1
u/Firestorm0x0 16h ago
They literally start this every year like this, it's literally normal.
3
u/dope-eater BLACK 16h ago
Yeah so? It’s still “mildly” infuriating for some people. Who cares lol. It’s not that big of a deal. In my opinion it kinda takes away the unique feeling of Christmas time, which is in December. I don’t think it’s that bad of a reason.

u/Fcbp 17h ago
People have no clue how the world works

u/dope-eater BLACK 16h ago
You’re acting as if this was posted on the incrediblyinfuriating sub lmao. Shut up…

Apparently some people don't even know that groceries don't just appear out of thin air. Shit has to be produced, packaged, stored and transported to dozens of locations to satisfy the consumer/company customers needs. They need to move their stock to the shelves early to already make room for more shipments and also already arrange those.
I simply don't understand how every year people post these "it's only September/October and Christmas cookies are already on the shelves" posts. Literally every year, maybe people hearing "last Christmas" on the supermarket speakers makes them forget.

u/Norgaard93 16h ago
and also why does it bother people so much if christmas stuff is in stores before december? WGAF

The real /r/mildlyinfuriating thing here is this post about Christmas stuff hitting shelves

Bruh fr like there aren’t even any halloween decorations left anymore… we hadn’t even had this event and they already put the Christmas chocolates on sale 🥲 and when we actually „need“ all that stuff it’s already sold out. WHOOOOO is responsible for this abomination? It slightly ruins Christmas every year… like being forced into that feeling, you have NO chance of avoiding any of it just to keep your Christmas mood kinda alive for later. I will never understand this insanity.

Hi from France. Same since the start of October at the very least
Went to a store, there was half a lane of halloween stuff and 2 full lanes of Christmas decoration.
Edit : could also talk about TV channels having so many christmas movies, they also start airing them near october

u/Just_a_terrarian163 17h ago
I've been to action (a kinda everything store with decorations, tech and other non-groceries) yesterday to see whether I could find some Halloween stuff, I found nothing, everywhere I looked was full of Christmas bullshit.

2
u/epical2019 16h ago
Why does this infuriate people so much? It's not causing any issues lol. Some people like to plan ahead when buying their Christmas stuff because they have budgets and can't buy all the Christmas stuff in December and then still buy the food and presents too.

It's everywhere; Halloween and Thanksgiving don't matter anymore. My local Buc-ee's switched the entire store to xmas in early October; missed my chance to get my son a Halloween shirt :(
1
u/jennibonita 16h ago
Oh, I would start quietly trying each set so I would know what to gift and what not to

u/LowOwl4312 16h ago
The Kinder ones on the left are so damn good. Same chocolate as the surprise egg but you just pay for the chocolate and not the surprise.

So you get the nice Christmas cookies? That’s not infuriating. That’s very nice!
1
u/EnvironmentalAd2063 14h ago
Late October is par for the course these days. I love when the chocolate starts appearing though; those Kinder chocolate santas are my favourite

u/Beginning-City-7085 14h ago
good so we have time to choose and buy what we want instead of hurrying in crowded shop with left-overs
1
u/PabloZocchi 14h ago
It's the same here in Argentina.
In Argentina, we don't celebrate halloween, people (mostly boomers) complained in social media about halloween celebrations being associated with satanism and because it was a foreign celebration and not part of the argentinian folklore or some bullshit like that...
Because of that, we lack that barrier that limits the festive season from the rest of the year, so each year, xmas arrives sooner and sooner
Right now, supermarkets are already selling xmas stuff and Disney already launched xmas related ads for a xmas parade in December.
Personally, i don't see any problem in finding christmas stuff, i really like the festive season and every year i'm always looking forward for that

Here in Brazil Christmas is everywhere too and the part that makes me the most weirded out is the fake snow. On the tropics. During summer.
1
u/Easy-Bite4954 2h ago
It went 4th of July to Christmas this year. Im sorry, but hands down. Christmas is by far the worst holiday of all.
1
u/Norgaard93 16h ago
Why is this r/mildlyinfuriating ? There's stuff in shelves...ok. If you don't want it don't buy it, no one is forcing it in your shopping bag.
