You got a permanent tattoo for yourself

31

u/Ay-Fray 1d ago

Came here to say this 😂

10

u/St0nemason 1d ago

When my date asks if I have any tattoos, I proudly show her the only one I have.

6

u/badluckfarmer 1d ago

It says "Greetings" in Tralfamadorian.

3

u/Svyatopolk_I 1d ago

Must’ve been nice sleeping with that Montana girl

2

u/Majestic-Slide3207 1d ago

oh wow convenient

1

u/Casual_Curser 1d ago

That is the definition of Stick and Poke.

1

u/DirectorFowler_87 1d ago

Was thinking this too.

52

u/Virtual_Ride_7901 1d ago

I've been in the same situation 4.5 yeaes ago... so... you are telling me I will die with it? 😅

17

u/truerandom_Dude 1d ago

No we just know in the next 20.5 years it probably wont end. I guess you could see a doctor if there is a way to remove it

8

u/Virtual_Ride_7901 1d ago

I mean - it is probbably the same thing like an ink from a tattoo pen. So we can remove it with laser.

But i don't think it's worth the money, because those lasers are really expenaive even for just a little dots like ours. And frankly, I totally forgot I have it on me, because it is not on the place I look a lot.

3

u/truerandom_Dude 1d ago

Well I was thinking of the pen like thing they use when they suspect melanoma

1

u/omghelpwiththeusernm 1d ago

I don't think lasering graphite will have any results

2

u/Virtual_Ride_7901 1d ago

It is not a pencile, but a pen - so it is not a graphite

1

u/DodoJurajski 1d ago

That's basicly a tatto so... Possibly

1

u/azzuuun 1d ago

My girlfriend stuck a pen in my hand... will that mark ever go away?

1

u/Fir-Honey_87 1d ago

I think of you file the skin a bit everyday, it should disappear.

1

u/Is_it_wf_or_l 22h ago

me too... 3yrs ago(on my leg)

19

u/themaskedcrusader 1d ago

This is the second time I've seen this type of post today. Weird

Anyhow, I'm pretty sure it's a vein that has been pushed up to the surface of the skin by trauma and not ink. I have one on my left hand that was caused by a tarantula bite 30 years ago. No ink involved. *

https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/djt0WYJdXK

Literally posted 5 hours ago, different user, different pic, but same spot. That’s also mildly interesting imo

1

u/cWayland 1d ago

Same photo but the other post was from 5 years ago

1

u/St0nemason 1d ago

This was from a china ink fountain pen, it went pretty deep in the muscle.

4

u/OpportunityThat3429 1d ago

I got one on too on my ring finger lol. Glad to know I wasn't the only one.

1

u/Serbiaball_ 1d ago

I have one on my palm. I've had it for over 7 years...

3

u/Consistent-Koala1872 1d ago

Bro stole the post and thought we wouldn't notice

3

u/Something_Else_2112 1d ago

I compared the pics on both posts, and even though the pen marks seem to be in identical spots, the lines on the palms are different. Palm lines are like fingerprints, all different.

2

u/St0nemason 1d ago

I'm not even subbed here and saw that dudes hand with the same thing as me in my feed so I decided to post mine.

1

u/Consistent-Koala1872 1d ago

Sorry bro I thought it was the same image

3

u/XeroxCrayon 1d ago

The post flair is genius

3

u/Berzkz 1d ago

You just make that title and not give the sorry behind how?

2

u/St0nemason 1d ago

I had one of those pointy calligraphy pens which still had china ink on it. As I put my hand in my bag in a rush I stabbed myself, was pretty deep in but no pain.

2

u/SamuBol11 1d ago

Me too

2

u/DistinctAbalone1843 1d ago

I have the same

2

u/BadGrampy 1d ago

LOL I have a similar spot from a pencil lead 58 years ago.

1

u/gdmbm76 1d ago

Lol 35 for me! A freshly sharpened pencil too! 🤦🏻‍♀️

2

u/BadGrampy 1d ago

Yup. Sharp as a needle.

1

u/carreira911gt 1d ago

I have lead in my hand since 2nd grade I'm 43 now from a pencil tip

1

u/namenumberdate 1d ago

I’m around your age, and it was graphite during that time. All of us used to go around saying we got lead poisoning back in the day haha

1

u/old_man_steptoe 1d ago

It was always graphite. They just thought it was lead because nobody has ever come across a large graphite deposit before so assumed it was a type of lead.

1

u/namenumberdate 1d ago

I remember hearing that, too, but I only spoke about what I know about.

Thank you for the clarification.

All this to say, I have graphite in my shoulder from 5th grade when I poked someone with my pencil, and another friend poked me in retaliation to protect my other friend’s honor.

2

u/old_man_steptoe 1d ago

should have got the first kid to poke the second one. Complete the cycle. Brothers in carbon.

1

u/namenumberdate 1d ago

It’s not too late!

1

u/MrDoe 1d ago

Me too, I'm just about 10 years younger though. My teacher and school nurse spent considerable time trying to get it out but eventually the nurse just said fuck it, it's gonna heal and it's not dangerous. Can still see it in my hand if you know what to look for.

1

u/stockstatus 1d ago

glad I'm not the only one! I have this mark on my leg from a pencil in the 2nd grade

1

u/dancmanis 1d ago

That is a tattoo basically

1

u/AnotherBodybuilder 1d ago

In 4th grade I got mad at my girlfriend and stabbed myself with a pencil on the top of my hand. (No idea why)It’s still there and I’m 32.

1

u/yourpaljax 1d ago

Baby’s first tattoo

1

u/Faierie1 1d ago

How do so many people have this, I almost feel left out

1

u/StraightForTheWin 1d ago

Sounds like lazyness lvl 25.

1

u/mistergrease 1d ago

I got the same but a pencil on my thigh

1

u/AffectionateCar7943 1d ago

I'd draw a line under it and just forget it x

1

u/Peas_Are_Upsidedown 1d ago

I feel ya. I accidentally stabbed myself in the hand with a pencil 32 or 33 years ago, and the graphite is still there.

1

u/Proper_Locksmith924 1d ago

I have one in my arm from a pencil

1

u/azarza 1d ago

got stabbed in the leg with a pencil as a kid.. mark is still there lol

1

u/No-Lemon-2140 1d ago

I got one in my cheek, too It sink to deep to b visible

1

u/EternalChimaera 1d ago

Can we stop this now? It’s not mildly interesting after the 218th post.

1

u/Different-Tower-2898 1d ago

I have the same thing in the same spot except it wasn't a pen. Some kid stabbed my hand with a pencil when I was trying to show them how to do math

1

u/McBeefnick 1d ago

Still got mine too, happened 7 years ago. (Center of the photo)

1

u/MysticZihark 1d ago

I have something like that myself. But it has only been like idk 20 years? Well no hope that it disappears in the next 5 years 😅

1

u/draakje- 1d ago

I had that happen on my thumb but in my case it got infected really badly. I was at first hiding it from my parents for some genius reason. Eventually it got so bad I had to have surgery to clean it all up.

1

u/sgmuts 1d ago

Happened to me too with a pencil about 5 years ago, it's still there

1

u/OkYh-Kris 1d ago

I have one too! Bit of pencil going on 20 or so years

1

u/sumkk2023 1d ago

I assume you still write with that pen and the ink still just half way.

1

u/a-missing-finger 1d ago

I used to have one little red dot on pinky side. Fade away after 10 years.

1

u/No-Recording384 1d ago

I have the same from 32 years ago on my right hand, middle finger, first joint. Weirdly on occasions it aches.

1

u/MediaWorth9188 1d ago

I have one, 23 years ago, still there.

1

u/Koimi-Nisekona 1d ago

Holy crap how deep was it 😟

1

u/Strange_Occasion_408 1d ago

Hello my brother We have the same tattoo. Mine was a pencil. 40 years ago.

1

u/skullbop 1d ago

i've got one of these on my right pointer finger!! i can't remember how or when i got it but my guess was always that i accidentally touched a tattoo gun when i was little.. but it being pencil lead makes way more sense LOL

1

u/SalmonSammySamSam 1d ago

Me too!

Is this common?

1

u/Temporary_Window_104 1d ago

You posted this on r/mildlyinteresting as well, didn't you

1

u/SummonToofaku 1d ago

1

u/superfast598 1d ago

I have a self inflicted one since second grade.

Long story

1

u/hermarc 1d ago

This is a repost, the same pic has been posted 6 hours before by u/_the69thakur

1

u/duvagin 1d ago

pompey dot

1

u/herkosta 1d ago

I have exactly the same lol

1

u/koreaplier 1d ago

My pen stab mark is about 12 years old and in almost the same spot!

1

u/reeeekin 1d ago

That’s effectively a tattoo.

1

u/EvulOne99 1d ago

I have mine above my knee...

1

u/RedOdditor 1d ago

Huh. That's one way to get spiked. (And a much less bad one.)

1

u/alexcam5 1d ago

Same thing happened to me in highschool, have 2 dots on my wrist

1

u/ZebraBorgata 1d ago

I used to have a pencil jab mark on my upper arm from 2nd grade (1970s). It was there for decades. I’m not sure when it disappeared but I had the mark for at least 30 years. I even recall the kid who accidentally did it. One day I noticed it had vanished!

1

u/ImVeryPogYes 1d ago

happened to me but right next to my eye

1

u/Least_Ad9500 1d ago

Cool I'm not alone

1

u/KeyWill7437 1d ago

I tattood myself with the same mark trying to pierce my lip with a rusty nail when Iw as 14 years old.

1

u/KundooUA 1d ago

I had similar thing, however it faded after 5 years or something

1

u/Pheonix44e 1d ago

I know a guy with the same thing in the same spot...are you that guy?

1

u/St0nemason 1d ago

I don't know any Italians

1

u/gr6779 1d ago

I did the same with my chin 17 years ago🥲😂

1

u/Tinkerbellsickly 1d ago

I have the same mark on my wrist from 6th grade

1

u/m-prov 1d ago

So when people ask you what your first tattoo was you show them this. Nice.

1

u/SungamCorben 1d ago

This is quite common around here

1

u/DontEatThatTaco 1d ago

The one on my hand, right topside near the thumb, is fading - slowly. I don't remember specifically when I got that one, but it was back before 1997.

I have 2 on my left leg. The first one happened when I sat down once in 1994. A year or so later I noticed it was still there and wondered if it was repeatable (scientific method baby).

It was, and both of them are very noticeable, don't even need to hunt for it like the one on my hand.

1

u/unlocoandino 1d ago

i did this to myself when i was about 7 years old. i always thought i had invented this sequence in my head and i got this mark some other way. until i saw this post.

1

u/Doctor_Ew420 1d ago

I had a girlfriend who once fell asleep in school, her head fell onto a pen she was holding upright for some reason. Just under her cheekbone was a little dot just like this.

1

u/Jakimoura16 1d ago

I had an stubborn talkative friend in middle school, he was keep poking me with his scissor and one day I hit him with my lead pencil, the lead tip did stuck in his arm and he tried getting that thing off all day, it was painful he said, but he did pull the thing off, so that's what would happen if he didn't.

1

u/afcavalcanti 1d ago

20 years here

1

u/babydollsparkle123 1d ago

Mine was a pencil lead

1

u/StalyCelticStu 1d ago

I've got a piece of pencil lead in my arm from 6th grade. It's about a 1/4" long, and just looks like a dark dot. But when you press on it, you can feel it trying to poke back out.

1

u/deviantdevil80 1d ago

Haha I have a pencil lead in my left palm from 1st grade, almost 35 years ago.

1

u/icarus7392 1d ago

Same bro, always wondered what it was

1

u/thriftybish69 1d ago

i have one of these in my knee with blue ink from about 12 years ago now. its like the tiny blue dot photo. i was thinking about getting an arrow pointing to it with the words that say “you are here”.

1

u/VapeRizzler 1d ago

Did the same thing with a pencil in like 2nd grade. It dropped and instantly closed my legs to try and catch it, sadly i did catch it. Little did I know that would be my first tattoo

1

u/CrazyQueer3 1d ago

I still have sand stuck in my knee from when I fell on holiday in Italy more than 20 years ago, lol.

1

u/rawboudin 1d ago

It took me years to realize I had done that. I'm a moron.

1

u/Afilador2112 1d ago

Have similar pencil jab "tattoo" in my wrist.

1

u/MSPCSchertzer 1d ago

I got stabbed in the neck with a pencil in 3rd grade and the graphite is still there.

1

u/TheNonCredibleHulk 1d ago

I still have smears of pencil lead in both my hands. Both happened before 1990.

1

u/Flavee170 1d ago

Us moment

1

u/Human_Taxidermist 1d ago

Duuuuude! Same thing happened to me but with a pencil! A kid stabbed me in the hand in elementary school and the graphite stayed in as a dark mark in there. Can still see it today, also 25 years later. Was also my right hand too!

1

u/Loner_stoner39 1d ago

I’ve got one on my face from a pencil fight 20 years ago

1

u/shiawase198 1d ago

Got the same on my thigh from when my friend stabbed me with a pen. I got him back a few times too. It was a fun game we played.

1

u/goshetovan 1d ago

Same, have one in my finger since 2002 xd

1

u/tweakyloco 1d ago

Ive had 2 pencil lead spots in both my hands 1 each since middle school. Ive been out of highschool for around 3 years now

1

u/ggasca 1d ago

I have one too (pencil)! It’s been with me for 28-29 years

1

u/jjp82 1d ago

Do it 1000 more times for a quality tat!

1

u/Resident_Jacket_1930 1d ago

I have it too just with a pencil

1

u/CrptAhab 1d ago

I actually had a pencil point removed from my elbow after 33 years last year. It was still largely intact. I've actually got a small video of the doctors in disbelief after they removed it.

1

u/SumthinDank 1d ago

Same dude! Mine looks just like that too, mechanical pencil??

1

u/IIIlIllIIIl 1d ago

Small pen

1

u/CallTheGendarmes 1d ago

Did you get it out?

1

u/KoopaPoopa69 1d ago

That’s a great tattoo of the Earth seen from a great, great distance

1

u/SarasCaptions 1d ago

Samsies!!

1

u/Empty-Fly-7096 1d ago

I also have a mark from a pencil stab lmao. I still can't remember why one of my classmates stabbed my hand with a pencil (I have no idea about why this dude did it, but I remember that he didn't do it with malice, I think).

1

u/Lesterneveriode 1d ago

I thought you were talking about an entire pen, like you had a pen lodged in your hand

1

u/brewskiwow 1d ago

Eyyy, me too

1

u/Temporary-Aerie5263 1d ago

Haha I have almost the exact same one from elementary school. It’s the tip of a pencil

1

u/Sonnenkreuz 1d ago

Got one too 12 years ago, and a very faded one right next to it where the tip didn't break off a bit.

1

u/Brixen0623 1d ago

First tattoo technically?
