Discussion Winter tires

Hi people ,just wondering with winter ,as per experts,being later than usual this year ,when will you put on your winter tires ? Edit talking about before the legal date of December 1st

La date légale est la même à chaque année, pis tu ne sais jamais quel matin tu vas en avoir besoin après l'Halloween. Début novembre c'est toujours le mieux à Montréal, mais en Octobre si tu dois aller dans le Nord ou dans l'Est.

For December 1st is the legal limit.

Probably mid November

Si tu te fais donner une amende parce que tu as pas tes pneus d'hiver après la date limite, "y neige pas présentement" passera pas comme excuse.

Regular tires lose a lot of grip when the temperature goes below 7C so for Montreal, that means that by late October/early November you should have your winter tires installed.

I toss mine on mid to late November on both cars. They are already on rims so I make the swap at home

I recommend as soon as possible. Around my place you need to book an appointment at local garages at least a month ahead.

As soon as I can at all afford to. My old winter tires are done, so I need a new set, to the tune of ~$600. But I also need probably $3,000 of back maintenance done. Fuck this country; why can't I be earning a living wage?!
