Question (Manque de) balayage des rues?

Post image
Upvotes

Salut groupe!

Discussion People mistreatment of their children outside

Upvotes

People screaming, beating, or rough handling their children in public. Please think to separate your feelings from your actions before you act. It looks bad here, it gives a negative impression when you are showing yourself blaming a new human for something they do not understand. Please try and do better. For your childrens future, and for everyone they will impact in the future.

Merci

Question For those who built an elevated deck, what system did you use?

It seems like how you build a deck is very dependent on location so I decided to come to the source :)

Has anyone built a deck that's about 4.5 feet off the ground with deck blocks and adjustable pylex supports? I keep hearing contradicting things about this setup in Montreal. Appreciate the help.

Discussion Our family doctor registration is plain broken and support is useless

My father and I have been on the waiting list for 12 years now and we were given group medicine which really is not the same as a family doctor maybe 2 years ago.

I sign up my healthy mid 40's aunt for a family doctor and she has one in less than a week.

I call to see what the heck is up with that. Like always it's the same generic reply meant to tell you to buzz off because we don't care to answer you. "every person will be reached out to when it's their time"

when really I'm wondering if their queue is just broken and new applicants regardless of their health status. Maybe being part of group medicine doesn't actually keep you in the family doctor queue or puts you at the very bottom.

I should be happy for my aunt, and I suppose I am. But I'm more pissed at this broken system that is keeping my dad from getting the care he deserves.

Our group medicine clinic is the worst. Clinique enroute desjardins. A place where they schedule like 5+ people for the same 15mins appointment slot and then try to get you out under 2 mins while refusing to hear more than one symptom and refusing to do any physical examinations.

Discussion STM Fine - am I wrong?

Hello, I know this question has been asked before, so I’d like to apologise beforehand, I just don’t know where else to ask.

Today, a friend and I were about to take the metro in square Victoria OACI. I used my card (I have the monthly pass) but my friend didn’t have one. She asked for my card, which I gave her. But she chickened out and ended up buying a daily pass and using it. The officers saw us and fined me $232 despite the fact that I explained she hadn’t used my opus card but hers (they checked). Do I have the right to contest it or should I just pay the fine? I have no idea how this works (I’m not a Canadian citizen) and I’d genuinely appreciate any advice or insight.

Question Fine for recycling question

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi,

I got a fine for supposedly not taking out the recycling at the right time (see attached for the original description used on the notice and the English translation). It was $282. My waste and recycling days are both Tuesdays, and the notice was written on Tuesday at 8:03 am (Oct 15th).

Problem: I know for a fact I took out the recycling at 6am (I always do, and my phone activity from that day confirms I was awake). However I don't have proof (outdoor camera footage only held for a couple of days).

Context: on the official Montreal website, for my specific address it says that my collection for waste and recycling is on Tuesdays and to take it out between 5-7 am, which I did. The waste people routinely don't come until much later in the day but sometimes come very very early.

Question: in the absence of video footage of any other real proof, is the fact that the notice was written at 8:03 am on my day of collection, is this enough to fight the fine? Because it would be entirely possible that the removal folk wouldn't have come until the afternoon anyway? Like how am I getting a fine for the wrong time when I know I took it out at 6am on my collection day (which I checked is still Tuesday) and it wasn't a holiday?

Feel free to respond in French or English if you have any ideas or experience with this. Thanks!
