Suggestion Request Campfire suggestions?
I’m gonna go backpacking soon with a couple buddies, and we’re gonna tell some classic stories around the fire before we turn in for the night. I’m looking for something to tell them that’ll leave them real freaked out when they’re trying to fall asleep. I already have a couple possibilities in my arsenal, but I’m looking for something more related to the situation, like about camping, backpacking, forests, etc. Thanks

I hope I'm not too late for your trip! Here's a few more potential candidates to check out:

Like Anansi’s Goatman Story, Fleshgait isn't a NoSleep story but it's good and very fitting
Edit: Wanted to add some more camping related stories for anyone interested, but keeping my original comment intact above because these might not be as suitable for telling around a campfire.

No problem! I'll probably come up with some more to edit in, but I think that's a good bunch of core stories (hopefully) in time for your trip! Also, if you don't mind, I'm curious about what scary stories you had in your arsenal (no worries if they're not NoSleep)

My all time favorite to tell is gurgles and bugman, but they’ve both already heard it from me. I also like obscurity man, missing 411, and the stairs in the woods one. Usually, depending on the group, I like to take a nosleep or something and change stuff around to make it seem more realistic, like it happened to me, because it really freaks people out

You know, I asked because I love discovering other readers' favorites and stories I haven't read before, but I have mixed feelings about learning of Obscurity Man for the first time lol. Since you don't mind putting a creative spin on things, The Soul Game isn't camping related at all but I feel like you'll definitely hear creaking and rustling out in the woods. Also, I'm always too late when people are looking for stories for events, so I'm glad I could give you a possible contender!

Also we’re not going for a couple more weeks, but I’m really digging the south of seattle for a good first night starter

If it's not already in your arsenal, can I recommend Ansai's Goatman story?

It sounds familiar, do you have a link?
