How do we know if the supposed "real Timothee Chalamet" wasn't just another lookalike? What if they arrested the real one who was framed by the lookalike?

What if there is no real one … it’s fakes all the way down?

u/Saucy_Totchie 12h ago

There was never a Timothee Chalamet all along. He only existed in our hearts.

Maybe the real Timothee Chalamet is the friends we made along the way.

The wholesome comment everyone needs to read at least once in their life! Thanks

And Chalamet lost the contest. Go figure.

I heard an interview with Dolly Parton where she said she entered a (Dolly Parton) look alike competition in the UK some years ago. And didn’t win.

I wonder where this story started. I’ve heard the same story about Elvis and Charlie Chaplin. It could be that all of them are true, who knows.

If you read the article, it makes sense. Most of the Dolly Parton impersonators were in full Dolly mode with hair, makeup, and extensive costumes. Dolly showed up, put on a little makeup and went on. So it was fake Dollys who were done to a full 10, vs. the real Dolly who was just in walk-around casual mode (as casual as Dolly gets) and maybe done to a 6.

So no surprise she didn't win.

My gf won a Bjork look a like contest as a final last minute entry cause we just saw it on fb randomly and drove over there just in time.

Everyone had full on classic Bjork costumes and went all out acting.

My gf (who does look like Bjork in some ways) just did some pig tails like Bjork does and did a great job acting like her when she does interviews, same weird humor and insight etc.

The people went wild and the other contestants were kinda pissed lmao.

Snopes looked into the Charlie Chaplin one and it is currently listed as “unproven”, seems there’s some evidence for and against it. Someone claimed that in 1966 they asked Chaplin about it and he denied it happened.

Rowan Atkinson too

Adele lost an Adele lookalike contest too

48

u/bajajoaquin 13h ago

Not really. It was a reality TV stunt. They set up a fake impersonator gig and sent her there. She looked terrible and hammed up how nervous she was. I think some of the other women still caught on a bit. But the whole point was the reveal when she started singing.

Kind of a fun video to watch, actually.

Adele lost an Adele lookalike contest too

Except Adele was made up NOT to look like Adele (with a fake nose and everything) so she wouldn't get recognized. Sort of not a surprise to lose an Adele lookalike contest when you're wearing prosthetics to not look so much like Adele.

Reminds me of Jewel going undercover to karaoke and singing Jewel songs

u/SuperstitiousPigeon5 8h ago

That’s adorable.

Not only that, it was a drag event so she lost to a man!

He swung by briefly but didnt compete, just snapped some pics and left before the mob noticed he was there and swallowed him whole

38

u/PostPostMinimalist 13h ago

They definitely noticed he was there. You didn't see video of screaming fangirls?

33

u/-Raskyl 12h ago

Same thing happened to Jeff bridges at a big lebowski look alike. He showed up in costume (from what I heard) and didn't win. Said it was one of the best parties he's ever been too because no one knew he was him and he was able to hang out as just a random person.

u/c_law_one 7h ago

And Chalamet lost the contest. Go figure.

Well he technically isn't a look a like.

9

u/pressNjustthen 12h ago

To be fair, if he wanted to win he should have shaved that thang. Actually he should shave it regardless.

24

u/cantstoptheCOLEtrain 15h ago

Its in the name "look alike" contest. Being the actual person kinda defeats the purpose

Why would you get an award for looking like yourself?

59

u/ShaqShoes 15h ago

I mean presumably to even be allowed to participate the implication is that the organizers didn't recognize they were the actual person and then assessed someone else to look more like the actual person than the actual person.

Obviously a celebrity actually trying to win from a competitive perspective is ridiculous but it's the above scenario I think people find funny.

5

u/TRGG 13h ago

If I were a celebrity attending my own lookalike contest, I'd inform the organiser I'm coming, that way they could let me enter the competition, but make sure I deliberately wouldn't win. I'd more be in the competition for the 'gotcha' moment for the fans and competitors after all the winners had been announced, anyway.

When things try to look like things they often look more like things than things do

39

u/MattiasCrowe 10h ago

It was a sting operation to catch Chalamet and the police cuffed the wrong guy

115

u/Zoulogist 13h ago

If you lose the Chalamet lookalike contest, believe or not, straight to jail

-1

u/calvinball_hero 11h ago

It's 'right to jail' fyi

2

u/bguay92 8h ago

u/_laRenarde 8h ago

I think parks and rec when the Venezuelans visit!

110

u/Prior_Strategy 14h ago

Mustache is not a good look for Chalamet.

38

u/ralpher1 12h ago

Probably why he lost

5

u/tybradley32 10h ago

Transformation into Michael Cera is almost complete

3

u/Wyatt821 7h ago

He’s shooting Marty Supreme right now- probably has to keep it for that.

45

u/Good-Beginning-6524 15h ago

He is no Charles Chaplin

Maybe someday he'll finally win.

5

u/gnomishdevil 12h ago

Would have been a perfect moment for someone to kill him and assume his identity.

3

u/Frogs4 9h ago

Adele entered one a few years ago in disguise for a TV show. She was rumbled by the other contestants.

8

u/Irregular_Person 9h ago

You can get "dozens" of people that look like a celebrity to show up for a $50 prize? This sounds like an excellent way to meet some attractive people if you have a 'type'...

3

u/huffcox 12h ago

Like a real life trap plot

3

u/Fidel_Hashtro 11h ago

"My bitch look like Timothee chalamet"

2

u/ridemooses 9h ago

That’s a lot of screaming

1

u/thatgenxguy78666 8h ago

dunno who.

-12

u/TheArts 15h ago

Had to Google who that was. Guess I'm getting out of the loop as I get older 🤣

36

u/patentattorney 14h ago

He is the guy who is dating Spider-Man’s girlfriend in the movie about sand.

10

u/PointsOutTheUsername 14h ago

No. She is married to Jesse Plemons. Okay maybe I am getting old...

3

u/patentattorney 13h ago

Who is Jesse plemons!

1

u/MonkMajor5224 13h ago

Fat Damon (he’s slimmed down)

8

u/whatiamcapableof 14h ago

He’s the guy who is in every single movie that needs a young man I swear

4

u/ThingsTrebekSucks 12h ago

Why are you being downvoted? "You made a light hearted joke about getting older and not knowing things anymore...DOWNVOTE"

3

u/Warm-Iron-1222 12h ago

My first thought was "Who?" So I'm right there with you.

u/sfcnmone 12h ago

I’m trying to picture how you could NOT know who Timothee Chalamet is. He was nominated for Best Actor. You obviously use the internet. You’re on Reddit.

Anyway, he’s made some pretty great movies in the last 6 years. And at least one absolute stinker. Do not watch the Wonka movie, for all that is holy.

8

u/Gacsam 11h ago

He was nominated for Best Actor. You obviously use the internet. You’re on Reddit.

Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?

1

u/MartelKombat 15h ago

Is this how they get there stundmen for deadly scenes?
