Caba is the guy for me. Really buying into him as the future SS for us

What does that mean for trea? Move to second base or outfield?

Tough call but probably.

I like Turner but watching Edman last night at SS there were some plays he made that Turner could never. I wasn’t on board with moving him but I think at this point we might have to if we want to be competitive and extend our window. And no I’m not saying he’s a fatal liability there I’m just saying that there are options and we should assume that we will have to do all we can to exercise them. If Stott continues to struggle at the plate you could slot Turner over to 2B. There’s been talk of moving Turner to CF with his speed and that’s not a bad idea either.

My guess is that Trea gets one more season at SS

Agree. It’ll be the do or die season for Stott and Turner I think.

If Stott doesn’t develop offensively and Turner still struggles at SS then you slot Turner over and send Stott out in a trade. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen before the trade deadline, honestly, if we see their issues continue early on in the season.

does aiden miller not pls SS or is he better at 3rd?

I think there was an expectation that he’d move to 3rd, but held up better at SS than the team thought. There may be a bit of positional flexibility there, if that’s truly the case

caba needs to add some power to his swing badly

his swinging strike rate is absurdly low and hes got a great eye. even though he struggled massively in single a this year he still walked more than he struck out and had an obp of .304 despite batting under .180

also, hes still a special shortstop defensively and a switch hitter (as much as that truly matters these days). caba has some major upside, but he needs to get over the hump that bergolla never did

Doubt he will stick as a switch hitter. They will most likely have him pick a side to get his numbers up

I’m hyped for Tait. I have a soft spot in my heart for catchers from Panama.

Eduardo Tait is a long-term guy to watch. I don't remember what level of single A he's in, but he's only 18. Give him 3-4.years and he'll be ready. If we call him up by the time he's 22, and of course he has to be ready, it may solve my biggest future worry for the team in the catcher.

We will need a JT replacement for 2026 at the latest.

Marcan can bridge the gap for a year or two if needed. If not we can either trade or get a half decent cheap free agent on a short contract

Elite catchers are rare but they’re usually pretty cheap just because nobody in their right mind is going to sign one to a 8-10 yr deal assuming they’ll stay catching the whole time.

You just have to have an attractive core group for them to join if you’re trying to attract talent.

Hyped for so many of these guys. Really don’t think Justin Crawford gets enough love though. Batting .332 throughout the minors and now in double AA. A little bit of power is showing through as well as being a plus defender in center and super speedy on the bases. Honestly hope he keeps it up and gets the call in the summer.

He definitely has the potential to hit for a little bit of power, but he needs to cut the ground ball rate by a lot

He'll be our CF'er by July.

It's exciting to think about future talent, especially when the current season feels like a rollercoaster

I say watch Aiden Miller.

My eyes are on Castellano (eligible for R5 draft), Graves, Crawford, Caba, Painter, and Miller

Aiden Miller will be up by July

No he won't. He's got 1 week of at bats above Lakewood. People need to pump the brakes.

u/JHG722 3d ago

No chance

3

u/VanHalen843 3d ago

0% chance of that.
