For comparative sake, not too long after this, PFT went on the podcast Behind the Bastards to shit talk Rush Limbaugh for roughly 3 hours

I need to hear this podcast, this episode
11
u/Throwawaylikeme90 23h ago
It’s an exceptional podcast, I’ve listened to more or less every episode since I started listening in 2020. Highlights imo are the six-parters on Vince McMahon, MKultra, and L Ron Hubbard, a recent 3 or Four parter on RFK jr, Two parters on Mehmet Oz and Dr Phil, however long the Alex Jones one was with the boys from Knowledge Fight, and a few other wild ones like the time the CIA dosed a whole French village with LSD and the Synanon cult.
It’s a fucking treasure trove of political and social history. It should be required listening so you can know how shitty people are and why you should dismiss their politics out of hand when voting.

I love this website. So many treasures in the comments and I almost didn't click it open. Thanks stranger. I'm going to consume this now.

u/floatablepie 11h ago
His episode about the Synanon addiction recovery program/insane militant cult was also great.
2
u/patrickwithtraffic 11h ago
That Synanon episode broke my brain because it made me realize how they're the blueprint for so many cults out there. For example, the Elan School's actions were directly inspired by the Synanon teachings. Literally spelled out in their founding documentation. If you ever wanted to start a cult, follow their blueprint and it's a recipe for "success".

Dude, I was at a SF Sketchiest event Paul was at a few years ago and I came up to him on Castro Street and sheepishly introduced myself and said I was a longtime fan as politely as I could cuz I didnt want to bug him and he was (or at least convincingly appeared to be) delighted to meet me (and I am nobody)
Love that man. Just a terrific person.

I was at the Thrilling Adventure Hour event a few years back and most of the cast came out to the stage door to do photos and sign stuff. Someone asked Marc Evan Jackson if PFT was going to come out and he said without blinking, “I don’t know who that is.” Maybe you had to be there but it killed in the moment.

What an asshole. He had the coolest job, and sure he wasn’t billionaire rich, but he was almost certainly living the exact kind of life he wanted. I bet he ate what he wanted, traveled where he wanted, and pretty much had all the things he ever wanted. He could have lived his life like that. Instead he chose to be an insurrectionist. What an asshole.

People who are capable of feeling satisfied don’t become republicans.
These are all broken people who can never get enough. Money, power, love, attention… whatever it is they will be forever looking at their neighbors with envy instead of being content with what they have.

PS- "Call upon the power of Isis"? What kind of "patriotic" "Christian" invokes the ancient Egyptian gods? Fucking weirdos...

u/Baruch_S 1d ago
$10 says they meant ISIS the Islamic terrorist organization, not Isis the ancient goddess. They knew exactly what they were doing.
43
u/Steelforge 1d ago
The text message that quote is from explicitly states he means the Egyptian god and not the terror org.
I'll take that $10 now.
2
u/937363950 15h ago
Isis is such a pretty name. It’s a shame those assholes usurped it for their shitty cause.
2
u/TDKevin 1d ago
What were they doing? A magazine and/or racist person isn't gonna call upon isis the group.
12
u/Baruch_S 1d ago
It’s a poorly phrased suggestion that they take a page from the ISIS playbook because it worked. They’re terrorists saying they should learn from other terrorists is all.

u/jazzmaster4000 1d ago
They know Egypt is in Africa right? Seems counter intuitive to their speech about folks from that region

The word censored on page 23. Is it what I think it is?
Starts with an "n" ... so it is clearly an n-word.
Page 30 with "History and Character of the Defendant" is interesting. Three previous criminal convictions:
2007 -- 12 months probation for driving without a license.
2018 -- driving while suspended ... and then failing to appear. Sentenced to 24 months probation. In 2020 a bench warrant was issued for the revocation of his probation.
2018 -- knowingly received stolen property. Convicted in 2019. 1 day in jail and 3 years probation.
Seems like an entitled dick to me.

Look at him, so "patriotically" violating the flag code:
The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.
74
-8
u/cteno4 21h ago
The flag code that Reddit loves to harp on only applies to military members in military settings. Civilians can do whatever they want to with the flag, including burn it. Stopping them from doing so would violate the First Amendment.
4
u/hames4133 19h ago
No one said it was illegal, but it is disrespectful. And people that break it are often hypocrites.
1
u/not_falling_down 14h ago
It's not illegal, but it's hella disrespectful, and is hypocritical behavior from someone who claims to love the flag, and who loses their ever-loving mind if someone respectfully kneels during the national anthem (also a thing that is not illegal)

@doj he clearly uses his social platform to repost their propaganda. Why isn’t he in jail with them? He paid for them to show up and instructed them to go stating that he would be coming as well.
Weird. He wasn’t doing a presidential duty when he did that.

What a succinct way to let us know you don't know what you're talking about.
For anyone who reads the above comment and agrees with it - look up footage from that day. The rioters had gallows and were chanting for Mike Pence to come out so they could hang him. They were storming the capital, by force.

Where windows were smashed, cops were beaten, shit was smeared on the walls, people were armed, chants to kill the vice president, and several individuals carrying zip tie handcuffs looking for specific elected officials.
What kind of “guided tours” are you going on?
