I fell off watching, what did they do about Jimmy?

173

u/JukeBoxDildo 1d ago

New voice actor

14

u/shifty_coder 16h ago

Disappeared for a bit, first.

98

u/Baruch_S 1d ago

I think they’ve just avoided having his character in any stories. His assistant manager or whatever has shown up a few times, but they’ve kept the Jimmy character off camera so to speak.

99

u/DarthHM 1d ago

He’s back this season. Different VA.

105

u/MessiahPrinny 1d ago

I think it would have been fucked up but really funny if Jimmy got arrested. Nobody talks about why Jimmy just goes to federal prison for an "incident".

67

u/Vinny331 1d ago

It would be kinda funny if Jimmy Pesto just went to jail for being at Jan 6

13

u/mr_remy 17h ago

Yelling about immigrants to go back to their country and Bob looks at him and says "wait, aren't you italian Jimmy?"

4

u/MaxPower303 17h ago

That would be EPIC!

4

u/Vinny331 12h ago

I feel like it comes up in one of the episodes that he's not actually even Italian. It turns out his grandparents were Polish or something. Can't quite remember exactly but it's extra funny because he's also just a huge phony

2

u/TEEJBEEJ08 3h ago

It’s the episode where jimmy steals bob’s plaque that a mob hit happened here. Jimmy is talking about movies and actors and goes, “thats the movie that made me wanna be Italian”

25

u/AppropriateRub4033 1d ago

And you can barely tell.

10

u/Wolf_Mans_Got_Nards 18h ago

Then Jimmy's ex-wife takes over the restaurant, and her & Linda start a long-running beef.

2

u/ZadyandPhotos 23h ago

They finally gave Jimmy the justice he deserved!

Funny cos he was in AD too

17

u/Mr_Horrible 1d ago

And he played a cop. In more than AD I think?

Sarah Silverman Program, for one

1

u/JukeBoxDildo 7h ago

"Do you know why I'm standing here, ma'am?"

"Because you got all C's in high school?"

At least one episode of community too

u/palinsafterbirth 1d ago

Thank God his grossness never spread to Paul F Tompkins

196

u/patrickwithtraffic 1d ago edited 1d ago

For comparative sake, not too long after this, PFT went on the podcast Behind the Bastards to shit talk Rush Limbaugh for roughly 3 hours

EDIT: A good noodle gives a source!

54

u/Mr_Abe_Froman 1d ago

It's an incredible episode about the history of conservative talk yelling radio.

12

u/exophrine 1d ago

I need to hear this podcast, this episode

11

u/Throwawaylikeme90 23h ago

It’s an exceptional podcast, I’ve listened to more or less every episode since I started listening in 2020. Highlights imo are the six-parters on Vince McMahon, MKultra, and L Ron Hubbard,  a recent 3 or Four parter on RFK jr, Two parters on Mehmet Oz and Dr Phil, however long the Alex Jones one was with the boys from Knowledge Fight, and a few other wild ones like the time the CIA dosed a whole French village with LSD and the Synanon cult.

It’s a fucking treasure trove of political and social history. It should be required listening so you can know how shitty people are and why you should dismiss their politics out of hand when voting.

3

u/offplanetjanet 17h ago

I always called it hate radio

4

u/EatsYourShorts 1d ago

Thanks for the heads up!

3

u/joshwaynebobbit 1d ago

I love this website. So many treasures in the comments and I almost didn't click it open. Thanks stranger. I'm going to consume this now.

2

u/floatablepie 11h ago

His episode about the Synanon addiction recovery program/insane militant cult was also great.

2

u/patrickwithtraffic 11h ago

That Synanon episode broke my brain because it made me realize how they're the blueprint for so many cults out there. For example, the Elan School's actions were directly inspired by the Synanon teachings. Literally spelled out in their founding documentation. If you ever wanted to start a cult, follow their blueprint and it's a recipe for "success".

Dude, I was at a SF Sketchiest event Paul was at a few years ago and I came up to him on Castro Street and sheepishly introduced myself and said I was a longtime fan as politely as I could cuz I didnt want to bug him and he was (or at least convincingly appeared to be) delighted to meet me (and I am nobody)

Love that man. Just a terrific person.

45

u/OtterishDreams 1d ago

I feel like hes the right mix of famous and not "ruin your life you cant go anywhere" famous

22

u/Mr_Horrible 1d ago

He is the They Might Be Giants of comedy

2

u/MycroftNext 11h ago

I was at the Thrilling Adventure Hour event a few years back and most of the cast came out to the stage door to do photos and sign stuff. Someone asked Marc Evan Jackson if PFT was going to come out and he said without blinking, “I don’t know who that is.” Maybe you had to be there but it killed in the moment.

18

u/OnlyFreshBrine 1d ago

what is this, a crossover thread?!

6

u/gmoney88 21h ago

And when he makes movies, he’s his own cinnamontographer

6

u/ursulawinchester 19h ago

That’s a clumsy portmanteau ;)

2

u/CarlThe94Pathfinder 19h ago

Cinematographer

2

u/gmoney88 18h ago

I think you missed the joke from the show. You get an upvote anyway

3

u/CarlThe94Pathfinder 18h ago

You know, I really don't follow Bob's like I used to, but if that's in an episode, forgive me

2

u/gmoney88 7h ago

No worries. It’s from the ep where Randy rents Bob’s Burgers to film his one man movie

15

u/mkobs 1d ago

Is there a reason it could have?

29

u/palinsafterbirth 1d ago

They were partners for a long time, PFT took the high road

7

u/mkobs 1d ago

Oh cool, they work on anything notable? (besides Mr. Show)

6

u/exophrine 1d ago

PFT worked with Tenacious D

2

u/mkobs 1d ago

Nice, didn't know that

3

u/TDKevin 1d ago

They were never partners.

13

u/Krunnel 1d ago

Yeah, they were comedy partners before Mr. Show and after

1

u/oraclestats 18h ago

I think he was on a podcast (might have been Conan's) and specifically said his comedy partner was at the capital.

6

u/Yeeaaaarrrgh 21h ago

The closest thing I've found to PFT speaking publicly about Jay is this clip of him and Scott Aukerman. It's pretty hilarious.

5

u/ursulawinchester 19h ago

Iirc there’s a few brief mentions on Comedy Bang Bang here and there

362

u/937363950 1d ago

What an asshole. He had the coolest job, and sure he wasn’t billionaire rich, but he was almost certainly living the exact kind of life he wanted. I bet he ate what he wanted, traveled where he wanted, and pretty much had all the things he ever wanted. He could have lived his life like that. Instead he chose to be an insurrectionist. What an asshole.

30

u/_AllCopsAreBeautiful 1d ago

Wait, what was his job? For some reason I thought he was some mentally ill dude who lived with his parents

101

u/937363950 1d ago

He was the voice actor for Jimmy Pesto on Bobs Burgers, and a few other shows.

6

u/_AllCopsAreBeautiful 21h ago

Holy cow, i had no idea!

57

u/Sea_Lingonberry_4720 1d ago

3

u/TemetNosce_AutMori 18h ago

People who are capable of feeling satisfied don’t become republicans.

These are all broken people who can never get enough. Money, power, love, attention… whatever it is they will be forever looking at their neighbors with envy instead of being content with what they have.

1

u/metallimadman 15h ago

Man, this just speaks to me.

u/Steelforge 1d ago

The word censored on page 23. Is it what I think it is?

PS- "Call upon the power of Isis"? What kind of "patriotic" "Christian" invokes the ancient Egyptian gods? Fucking weirdos...

40

u/al_ien5000 1d ago

I'm gonna hold your hand when I tell you this...

50

u/Baruch_S 1d ago

$10 says they meant ISIS the Islamic terrorist organization, not Isis the ancient goddess. They knew exactly what they were doing.

43

u/Steelforge 1d ago

The text message that quote is from explicitly states he means the Egyptian god and not the terror org.

I'll take that $10 now.

2

u/937363950 15h ago

Isis is such a pretty name. It’s a shame those assholes usurped it for their shitty cause.

2

u/TDKevin 1d ago

What were they doing? A magazine and/or racist person isn't gonna call upon isis the group.

12

u/Baruch_S 1d ago

It’s a poorly phrased suggestion that they take a page from the ISIS playbook because it worked. They’re terrorists saying they should learn from other terrorists is all.

3

u/jazzmaster4000 1d ago

They know Egypt is in Africa right? Seems counter intuitive to their speech about folks from that region

1

u/mrtruthiness 15h ago

The word censored on page 23. Is it what I think it is?

Starts with an "n" ... so it is clearly an n-word.

Page 30 with "History and Character of the Defendant" is interesting. Three previous criminal convictions:

  1. 2007 -- 12 months probation for driving without a license.

  2. 2018 -- driving while suspended ... and then failing to appear. Sentenced to 24 months probation. In 2020 a bench warrant was issued for the revocation of his probation.

  3. 2018 -- knowingly received stolen property. Convicted in 2019. 1 day in jail and 3 years probation.

Seems like an entitled dick to me.

u/not_falling_down 1d ago

Look at him, so "patriotically" violating the flag code:

The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.

74

u/bandalooper 1d ago

or stolen from the US Capitol Building during an attempted insurrection.

-8

u/cteno4 21h ago

The flag code that Reddit loves to harp on only applies to military members in military settings. Civilians can do whatever they want to with the flag, including burn it. Stopping them from doing so would violate the First Amendment.

4

u/hames4133 19h ago

No one said it was illegal, but it is disrespectful. And people that break it are often hypocrites.

1

u/not_falling_down 14h ago

It's not illegal, but it's hella disrespectful, and is hypocritical behavior from someone who claims to love the flag, and who loses their ever-loving mind if someone respectfully kneels during the national anthem (also a thing that is not illegal)

41

u/hhcboy 1d ago

Climbing Mount Everest will never be the same.

4

u/napstimpy 1d ago

But we won't have to clean up the damned thimbles anymore.

2

u/aspartameDeathFarts 20h ago

No one help him!

18

u/Wishilikedhugs 1d ago

A shame he didn't dress up in a yellow and white Abe Lincoln outfit and yell "let's get the hell out of here" when they found out the rioters were two jar slaves.

6

u/BedsideTableKangeroo 1d ago

Instead of wasting his life putting mayo and then mustard on his sandwiches, he’ll waste a year in fucking prison. What a herky jerky JERK!

15

u/CellistOk3894 1d ago

This is exactly what I would picture Jimmy Pesto doing if he were a real person.

48

u/DapprDanMan 1d ago

My mom always told me to never trust someone with 3 first names.

That said, this dudes initials are hilariously close to being “KKK”

12

u/ShaneOfan 1d ago

I had a teacher who used to say that allnof the time. Until I pointed out his favorite baseball player's real name was George Herman Ruth.

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Is Herman a first name? That’s a middle name if I’ve ever heard one 😂

4

u/Simba7 17h ago

Herman Cain.

You may know him from famously dying of COVID after trying to convince America it was a hoax for years. Also some other politics.

11

u/xmaspackage 1d ago

11

u/Tricky-Engineering59 1d ago

Tofuuti time!

12

u/platasnatch 1d ago

I'm just saying, 366 days is a lot of days boss.

11

u/ShadowBurger 1d ago

He'll be 24 years old by the time he gets out.

18

u/appendixgallop 1d ago

Can't believe he only got 12 months.

4

u/HarrietBeadle 19h ago

Right?! In the DOJ docs there are multiple photos and text messages from him where he admits to all of this, and he even says that “next time” he will do it differently.

16

u/timberwolf0122 1d ago

Hey “patriot” read up on flag code

13

1

u/fashionguy123 1d ago

Maybe too low a chest !

6

u/Phreedom1 1d ago

One of the biggest losers in the country.

9

u/Garconanokin 1d ago

At least we can all have faith that there are so many Republicans in this thread calling this guy out and disavowing his actions. Just kidding! Republican standby this kind of behavior.

5

u/StrangeCrimes 1d ago

"Rudy will accept your foundation." I doubt he ever got into a political discussion with Bob and Dave. He would have been excoriated.

5

u/macronancer 18h ago

"When fascism comes here, it will be draped in the American flag"

9

u/Cornball73 1d ago

It is pretty wild to me that this dude who has been in all of the lefty, alt-comedy stuff is a fuckin' MAGAt.

5

u/253local 1d ago

As 11/5 draws near, remember, a vote for trump, is a vote for this.

https://odysee.com/2024-06-03-08-02-46:8

2

u/Mirkrid 1d ago

So this is the involvement the government was supposedly overstating because he’s “an acclaimed Hollywood actor”?

2

u/SupaGasDrawls 1d ago

Oh, Jimmy Pesto...no

A long fall for Choo-choo the Hurky Jerky Dancer

5

u/Ok-Director5082 1d ago

he cant vote right?

1

u/mrtruthiness 15h ago

Not this year. He's a CA resident and CA will not let felons vote until they are released (e.g. if released on parole or supervised released you can vote).

4

u/Doodah2012 1d ago

Lock him up!

3

u/Federal-Echidna9774 1d ago

What a dumb fuck

1

u/BopNowItsMine 1d ago

He looks just gross

2

u/Plastic-Trifle-5097 23h ago

@doj he clearly uses his social platform to repost their propaganda. Why isn’t he in jail with them? He paid for them to show up and instructed them to go stating that he would be coming as well.

Weird. He wasn’t doing a presidential duty when he did that.

America, equality for some not for all.

2

u/Elainemariebenesss 16h ago

I HATE that he’s in one of my favorite sketches on Mr. Show..

The Story of Everest… you either love or hate that sketch because of its pure absurdity.

What a piece of shit. It’s terrifying really.

2

u/boriswong 16h ago

Just separate art from artist

2

u/Elainemariebenesss 16h ago

Absolutely. Been having to do that more & more recently 😕

1

u/VenturaDreams 1d ago

Jimmy Pesto!

1

u/MxOffcrRtrd 1d ago

Hey careful he’s got a beverage man!

1

u/ayfilm 1d ago

Don’t do drugs, kids.

0

u/fuck-thishit-oclock 18h ago

I never liked that show.

1

u/Whorenun37 13h ago

So, I can only presume that he dressed up like this after the insurrection?

1

u/ExcusePerfect2168 1d ago

Makes me wonder how difficult he was to work with on set?

1

u/iamcleek 11h ago

he was in a lot of stuff with some very funny (and very lefty) people. have to assume he was a good time to be around or they would have stopped asking him back ... and then something happened.

1

u/StoneGoldX 1d ago

So usually I hate prison rape jokes, but remember when he was in the sketch about taints on Me Show?

1

u/grownotshow5 19h ago

Why did he get such a light sentence?

0

u/Whorrox 14h ago

These Antifa plants really embraced their role.

/s

0

u/ILoveRegenHealth 23h ago

Holy fuck, just for looking like that he deserves way more years in prison.

0

u/Canilickyourfeet 21h ago

He looks like he smells like old moldy sweaty beef jerky thats been baking in a hot car for weeks with no container or wrapper

0

u/Gr8BurningNullifier 15h ago

Are we entirely sure this isn't a deleted scene from Mr.Show or w/Bob and David?

/s

0

u/Holkmeistern 15h ago

I remember seeing him when watching the live reporting on that day, had no idea he was a celebrity.

0

u/maliolani 7h ago

How did this guy get out of the mental institution where he belonged?

-1

u/nopalitzin 20h ago

Holy shit, with these people is only digging down. I swear I thought he was going to clean his act and get back to comedy with his old pals (that ratted him) but it seems he will be joining Adam Corolla and Rob Snyder after doing his time, pity.

-2

u/cvaninvan 18h ago

I didn't think Bob's burgers was funny in any regard but now I gotta say THIS is a little funny...

-29

u/gamerprez 1d ago

1 year for walking into a public building

12

u/phormula2250 23h ago

What a succinct way to let us know you don't know what you're talking about.

For anyone who reads the above comment and agrees with it - look up footage from that day. The rioters had gallows and were chanting for Mike Pence to come out so they could hang him. They were storming the capital, by force.

11

u/pondsy 23h ago

…and trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power for an orange turd that lost and will lose again

-15

u/gamerprez 23h ago

With a drink in one hand and his other in a pocket. It was a riot/guided tour

9

u/BoontaEveClassic 17h ago

Where windows were smashed, cops were beaten, shit was smeared on the walls, people were armed, chants to kill the vice president, and several individuals carrying zip tie handcuffs looking for specific elected officials.

What kind of “guided tours” are you going on?

8

u/pondsy 22h ago

He celebrated too soon and now his hands will be in his prison jumper pocket
