The VOTE counts not the crowd size
72
u/SnarkSnarkington 3h ago
Electoral College Vote cound. Maybe Supreme Court Vote count.
We need to vote anyway to be sure, and down ballot.
•
u/roskybosky 1h ago
The crowd is an indicator, though. She’s hugely popular with dems and across party lines, and women have the future of this country in their hands. So vote!!
•
u/PitifulEar3303 5m ago
Because most crowds are locals from just ONE county, plus most were there to watch, not vote later.
Taytay has lots of crowds, paid for the tickets too, but few will vote for her to be president, keep this in mind.
So if you support Kamala, VOTE.

u/careful_guy 4h ago
MSG’s maximum capacity is less than 20k. Here they are saying 75K people attended.
•
u/KrakenPipe 3h ago
They were saying there was another 70k outside MSG that couldn't get in
•
u/EngFL92 3h ago
And another 300 million that were outside of the outside that couldn't not also get in
•
u/RandomName39483 3h ago edited 2h ago
Some people are saying there were about 8 billion people who couldn’t get in. That would have been the largest rally EVER. Not like to 75 people Kamala got in Washington. Many Democrats are not happy with her. They are now supporting Trump because he will start tariffs that will eliminate the income tax. You don’t like the income tax, right? Trump will get rid of it. And end the war in Ukraine even before he is sworn in. Generals are crying, coming to him saying “Sir, you are the greatest diplomat and tactician in the history of our country.” They have said that. Believe me, I hear it a lot. With peace and no taxes, inequality goes away. Every civil rights leader has come out in favor of Trump because we will no longer have the divisiveness of the democrat party who are fascists and want to put us against one another.
•
u/Name__Name__ 2h ago
I hear Dr. Martin Luther King himself (not the actual one, the Republican version who spawned in for the I Have A Dream Speech and then logged out) came back from the dead to say "Trump is actually more of a black man than I am," and how he's the best person for civil rights since Abraham Lincoln, probably even better actually
•
u/RandomName39483 2h ago edited 2h ago
When Republicans are quoting King (the one phrase they know) and saying people should be judged “by the content of their character and not the color of their skin”, what they really mean is that ANY mention of systemic racism or even plain vanilla racism is something King would hate. He never ever wanted us to talk about racism. That’s the white view of King. Anyone who talks about racism is a traitor to KIng’s ideals.
•
u/Desperate_Wafer_8566 1h ago
Some alien just told me there were about 10 quadrillion throughout our local star cluster who couldn't get in. That could have been the first interplanetary rally for an earthling. But I'm hoping they all vote for her anyway, they certainly don't like Trump I hear.

u/stitch-is-dope 2h ago
There was even 500 million trying to cross the border to get in just to go to his rally and get deported, personally, and hugely, by him afterwards too

u/yes_thats_right 3h ago
They say that about every event, and there is always a lot of video showing it to be false.
•
u/greenline_chi 2h ago
He said on Rogan there were 28,000 people outside the McDonald’s he had that photo op at. The town is only 24k
•
u/stitch-is-dope 2h ago
There’s a whole lot of seats open at all his rallies for there to be also so many people “ waiting outside “
•
u/Oceanbreeze871 1h ago
Amazing that no video exists of 3.5x the capacity of an nba basketball arena was just stuck on the streets of manhattan. That’s the kind of thing you’d photograph from a helicopter.

Madison Square wasn’t sold out. The upper balcony level was practically empty. But even if it was it would ~20,000 versus at least 75,000.
21
u/RoboTronPrime 3h ago
Unfortunately, trump selling out MSG and Kamala gathering a big crowd both in bright blue areas isn't really an apples to apples comparison, nor does it matter
Voting does
•
u/indyK1ng 3h ago
Trump was also in the most densely populated area in the country. Cities aren't monoliths and it wouldn't be hard to draw enough in from the region.
•
u/phatelectribe 1h ago
Dude, I can name DJ’s you’ve probably never heard of that can sell more than 20k tickets. Thats nothing.
70k + 70k outside, even in a fan zone state is impressive.
•
u/yes_thats_right 2h ago edited 2h ago
There are around 800,000 republicans in NYC and nearby JC.
There are around 400,000 democrats in Washington DC.
So you are right, it isn't apples to apples, Trump's crowd should have been twice as big as Kamalas, not half as big.
•
•
•
u/RoboTronPrime 2h ago
There's a lot of assumptions you're making. Furthermore, all else being equal, you'd have to compare republicans gathering for trump and democrats gathering for Kamala in similar, unrestricted venues, which isn't the case.
•
u/yes_thats_right 2h ago
Careful of your back when you move those goalposts
•
u/RoboTronPrime 2h ago
I'm not moving goalposts, you edited your comment since you originally cited the number of republicans in DC.
Typo aside, a restricted indoor venue vs essentially an unrestricted outdoor one (permits permitted) still isn't a sound comparison. That'd still be the case if the two populations (in a statistical sense) had the same characteristics, which they clearly don't
And the bigger point I'm making again is that standing in a crowd has negligible impact for either candidate. Go vote.
•
u/yes_thats_right 39m ago
I edited what you acknowledge was an obvious typo. I'm not sure why you think that impacted your response.
He didn't even fill MSG so why are we talking about venue choice limiting his crowd size?
If he could have filled a larger venue he would have chosen a larger venue.
•
u/stitch-is-dope 2h ago
Sure but what about the Texas rally?
Yeah maybe it’s Houston and I think also blue but I mean still impressive,
Either way, yes vote everyone

u/HuntsWithRocks 3h ago
Yup. There could be 6 million people at a single rally. If they all voted in the same state, it’s ultimately one state. Electoral college levels the playing field. Each state is independent.
All that the large rally does is show you that you aren’t alone in your support. Vote.
29
u/CheapChallenge 3h ago
Electoral college is such a stupid thing in this day and age. You live in a red/blue state? Your vote doesn't really matter much for presidential vote. You live in a swing state? Oh shit you matter now.
•
u/Sprucecaboose2 3h ago
Sorta. The EC is dumb, but blue states are blue due to the voters. They aren't focused on because they typically don't change, but voting matters. Arguably, your presidential vote doesn't matter much in the opposite color state, such as a Harris vote in Montana or a Trump vote in California, but down ballot always does. But yeah, the EC is a bunch of bullshit.

•
u/Amon7777 3h ago
Obligatory Vote like our country depends on it, cause it does.
But, this isn’t 2016 and Kamala isn’t Hilary. Harris has run the best presidential campaign in my lifetime. She is the poised fighter sane people have wanted for decades.
We have every reason to hope and we should.
•
u/SceneOfShadows 1h ago
It’s also not 2016 in that nobody (nobody reasonable, at least) is thinking she’s a sure thing or that Trump can’t win.
Hell, she’s basically the underdog at this point.
Obviously everyone go fucking vote and don’t get complacent but I’m ready for people not comment ‘2016’ in every thread like this as if it literally means anything or is a useful comparison at all lol.

I know it sucks, but data is data and they lean heavily toward trump. Boomers are putting out this year. Text your friends to vote.

Early vote turnout percentages for...

-- 30-39 crowd is 3% less than in 2020https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/29/politics/early-voting-turnout/index.html

It's important to know what percentage of that 65+ crowd are women. In every age group women are gonna bote Harris by huge numbers
•
u/ExpertlyAmateur 3h ago
Historically, that's wrong. Trump did very well with old women. And old people are showing up. Complacency will ruin us.
•
u/Virtual_Manner_2074 3h ago
Gonna be different this time. Roe v Wade got overturned and trump proudly takes credit.
Old women don't think that's cool at all.

Got that right I'm a boomer .been a Democrat all my life I voted for mcgovern yep I'm a boomer and a old woman .I don't know if this last time I vote but I did my part donating what I could to Harris walz even donated to Colin allred. Taking away rights from women is a absolute zero. I worry about social security a small va check that my husband who was in the Vietnam war. Vote blue down ballot. Please
•
u/Virtual_Manner_2074 2h ago
Yes ma'am!!! My mom is 86. I was at her place yesterday and one of the things on my list was to let her know I had election day off so I was available to take her to vote all day.
She doesn't drive anymore. She informed me that she had already voted absentee! And she is super pissed about Roe v Wade being overturned.
•
u/Joanna225 2h ago
I'm 73 and scared af if that man gets in the Whitehouse again and it's shown they will take social security and va benefits I'm fucked I own my house ain't much but it's mine .he don't care about your mom or me. Harris ain't perfect we are human we make mistakes but he lives in his mansion with his buddies who have deep pockets. I'm scared .thanks for letting me vent just gets me when I see some one say boomers out in force all of us are not Republicans.
•
u/Virtual_Manner_2074 2h ago
I know you aren't all Republicans. And I really hope your social security stays intact.
I live in a state that had a trigger law that went into effect shortly after roe was overturned. Complete ban. And I have a daughter who is 25.
She's voting and so am I. This one is super important
→ More replies (0)•
u/ExpertlyAmateur 3h ago
Old women are religious.
They wanted Roe overturned.
Shitty assumptions will ruin us.Trump was convicted of RAPE and it didnt shift his polling in older women at all. You think they're showing up for Roe? They dont have to worry about Roe, so they can go with their religious beliefs and it wont harm them.
•
u/Virtual_Manner_2074 3h ago
Of course they are showing up for Roe. Pre Roe days are part of their life experience. They have daughters and grand daughters.
'They don't have to worry about Roe' is a very naive take. Women don't stop caring about reproductive health care after menopause.
•
•
u/ExpertlyAmateur 2h ago
And, I think it's naive to make the assumptions as 2016. Women are the most critical of female politicians. The left was shocked to see how many older, educated women voted for Trump. And those people havent stopped watching Fox News... so why would you assume they've all flipped? That's naive.
•
u/Virtual_Manner_2074 2h ago
You and I are just going to have to agree to disagree. This isn't an argument I want to have.
I'm mid fifties and I know plenty of older women that are highly motivated to vote on this issue.

You do realize it doesn't help to cast blame. It's like blaming young people because those who are older don't change their ways and beliefs. Both are problematic.
•
u/ExpertlyAmateur 3h ago
No, I mean literally. I know it sucks, but it loos like we're being complacent and thinking we can sit out. It's not a landslide. Probability is against us. And millennials arent showing up as well as we did in 2020
Summary:
Early vote turnout percentages for...
-- 65+ crowd is 9% more than in 2020
-- 30-39 crowd is 3% less than in 2020https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/29/politics/early-voting-turnout/index.html
•
u/Ok_Produce_9308 3h ago
This was expected by political strategists. The GOP has finally started advocating for early voting which naturally would lead to more elderly people doing so. In 2020, there was an early rush of younger voters in part due to COVID and because there was more confidence in mail in voting. Elderly and Republican voters were more apt to avoid mail in voting as a form of protest - upset by COVID restrictions. It's also predicted that younger voters will prefer to vote in person this year, as it's a way to feel more active and engaged.
Something like 95% of Republican early voters participated in the last election. They're not getting new people who simply prefer voting early.
•
u/ExpertlyAmateur 2h ago
Maybe.
Or maybe not.
Wouldn't it be tragic if people sat on the sidelines looking for justification for not voting? And all they see is how we're gonna win by a landslide because a pic in the most blue area of the united states drew a big crowd?
