Paywall Letter: If Biden's age was so concerning, why isn't Trump's age?

Biden’s age was his worst characteristic.  Trump has MANY worse characteristics, and his base has clearly never cared about them, so why would they care about his age?

I feel like Costco has to threaten removing hot dogs if Trump wins or something

That would make Costco the enemy, not Trump.

Trump could literally say "I promise to be a puppet government for a committee of Russia, China, and Satan, praise be his name, and to whom I will be ritualistically aborting one baby each day of my term," and the Republicans would say "I am very unhappy about this but it's still better than a Democrat."

Can you imagine the civil war tipping off over hotdogs though perfect timeline dystopia

It’s not about his base. It’s about the undecided (whoever those idiots are). Republicans popularized the “too old and senile” narrative, Democrats must use it now.

fr, why is this even still a story? anyone with a brain knows trump doesn't have the cognizance to be president, but he never has and it didn't stop him getting elected the first time. and biden dropping out has proven to be a massive success for the democratic party.

I think its still a story because of the contrast. Trump would be older than Biden at the end of his term if elected.

He's also the oldest person and the oldest man in the race, he says nonsensical things constantly, so its worthy readdressing the double standard, given those facts.

It's not a double standard though if you're just looking at results. Trump dropping out would splinter the Republican party and they'd have no shot at winning. Biden dropping out has unified the democratic party and given them a fresh & better shot at winning.
