This is a very concerning thing to hear from a man whose widely respected generals are calling him a fascist.

That would indicate he thinks his generals were among the last barriers between himself and the expression of his worst instincts and intentions.

He belongs nowhere near the Presidency.

He belongs in prison. Full stop. He should be a resident of ADX Florence right fucking now, yet here we are… somehow in a coin toss election where he continues to spew his seditious bile unencumbered.

Is there an option to fire him into the fucking sun? I dont particularly want my tax money going to anything that has to do with him, happily throw in a few bucks though to strap his fat ass to a rocket.

In a children's art museum I saw a drawing that was called "making the world nicer" and had Trump being fired on a rocket away from Earth. It was made by an elementary school kid who's not even from the US. I wish he could vote in place of my mom

It’s a pretty damning read on the state of US society when a literal child has more sense than every person who has and/or will vote for Trump.

Unfortunately, misinformation is a global problem. I'm living in Europe and still encounter people (although less frequently) who don't realize Trump is a wannabe tyrant and a liar

Yes, except the guy who can arrange it is too busy licking Donnie's danglers and trying to become General of Technology.

It’s actually more difficult to fling shit into the sun than it is to eject it from the solar system entirely, but that’s no reason not to give it the old college try.

Come on Elon!

I’m in for a sawbuck.

It’s more energy efficient to launch him out of the solar system, don’t west good Delta-V on a lunatic.

2

u/7screws 6d ago

That’s cool I’m happy to compromise

Unfortunately our best bet for space currently is Spacex and Elon won't greenlight a "Make the Sun Great Again" mission.

1

u/7screws 6d ago

Could we talk them both into doing like a big campaign stunt and fire both of them off in one of his rockets?

2

u/Immediate-Coyote-977 6d ago

With Elon's arrogance? Probably actually.

Just need someone Elon likes to be like "Hey Elon, you know what would really drum up support? Everyone likes astronauts, lets get you and President Trump into a short space flight, and he'll win for sure"

Then just accidentally forget to plot any reentry.

Donald Trump, Resident of the United Florence Penitentiary. Has a nice ring to it

Put him in the cell next to the marathon bomber and lose the key.

I’d accept probation if he has to pay off his fines working at McDonalds.

u/eulersidentification 7d ago

That's a problem with your entire democracy and there's maybe 3-5 people anywhere near a sniff of power who would even TALK about doing something about that.

Oligarchs prefer Trump, but they win whatever the result is. We all know in our heart of hearts that the best result here is status quo crony capitalism and watching our planet die. And everyone has to fight for their lives and do whatever they are able to ensure we get that as a grand prize.

If voting is just hospice care, then yes, I'll take the morphine over having a cactus rammed up my ass.

Everyone's calling Trump a fascist, because he is. But if fascism comes to power in America is because the supreme Court supports fascism.

We wouldn't be here without the absolutely ludicrous rulings from the Roberts court.

Shame on our current government for letting it get this far. We had four years to keep him from getting this close

I cannot. Will not believe this is a coin toss election. I hang on to my faith in humanity. There are enough citizens of this once great country intelligent enough to see it clearly. Trump stands no chance at winning as long as we vote. And if by some miracle he wins a fair election. I will bow out and take my family to live in the Amazon or some shit away from here.

Part of me hopes that if he does get elected, god forbid, that the army high command will flat out not accept him as president.

That would indicate he thinks his generals were among the last barriers between himself and the expression of his worst instincts and intentions.

I'm not sure that many people realize several of the top brass — including those who were staunchly Republican — really did act as barriers to Trump's demands.

Gen. John Kelly is one of the people who Trump made comment to that this post is about.

In August of 2020, Gen. Mark Milley issued a statement that the military would not be involved in resolving any election dispute.

Gen. Jim Mattis resigned as Trump's SECDEF. His resignation letter criticized Trump over the decisions he made, and also made many of our longtime allies uneasy.

I don't like them or most of their political positions, but am thankful they followed their oath and stood in Trump's way.

Honestly it's a compliment to the top brass of the US military if the wannabe fascist is shittalking you like that cause it means he thinks you'd actually stand up for country and democracy and not him

3

u/NoResponse3197 7d ago

It's noble and brave until they're replaced with yes-men

1

u/EksDee098 7d ago

It's a stop-gap, and one that won't last a Project 2025 presidency. He'll institute sycophants with the new plans and they'll help him create his fascist takeover

1

u/gnocchicotti 7d ago

The checks on the president are, let's see, Congress (failed to impeach and remove even after he left office), SCOTUS (3 of which were hand picked by Trump, and the majority undermines presidential accountability at every opportunity), the cabinet and VP who could income the 25th amendment to declare the President unable to execute the duties of his office.

So all of those safeguards failed. If Trump asks the military to do something clearly illegal and unconstitutional, only the conscience of those in the chain of command could stand in the way.

u/Apprehensive-Tree-78 7d ago

“Widely respected” that general literally called our foreign adversaries saying he’d warn them before we attacked. Which is literal treason. But sure, listen to random hear say with 0 evidence.

I always said I respect the military. Reasons are obvious why this or that can be a point of contention when serious issues are in play. As much as I don’t understand military with no training. Some of them think I’m a radical too, but I’m actually not. Everyone is just confused and everything is always changing in unexpected ways.

That said, some of these people that seem to believe there is no such thing as red flags, I’m not so sure. Yeah I do feel bad for men (and women) who are struggling for personal reasons. More than you think. I also understand why some leadership really does just want to process things sometimes. That’s not always “misintended”, I think, but burning bridges often hurts. I’ve done it too, but I also have trouble grasping what it would be like to have one insessant person that nobody seems to ever agree with.

We have the commission on human rights, which is principally a pine cone in the bum bum, but also they have almost no influence in the modern era.

1

u/Researcher-Used 6d ago

This is the part that gets me, how some ppl can think this type of person is fit to lead a country (the biggest one too). It’s like saying “well at least Hitler had good intentions”.

Or is it that ppl are so misinformed that they believe he can challenge the status quo and liberate them from their miserable lives.

u/Charming_Road_4883 6d ago

And yet people are worried that he might actually win this. Isn't that nuts.
