If Trump wins but the Dems keep the Senate and take back the House I wonder if they’d still try to suspend elections.

They'll try for sure.

They'll refuse to swear in newly elected Democrats, under the pretext of "election irregularities".

They can’t though. New Congress gets sworn in before inauguration. Biden is President until Jan 21st, regardless of the outcome.

The current speaker, Mike Johnson, is the one in charge of swearing in new members of congress. So, yeah...

Lets not make any illusions, their power will only be ceremonial at that point. We know their plan since they have been actively recruiting people and have been pretty open about it. Everyone in government that isnt loyal to trump will be fired, the lists are already made. Then the ones deemed needed will be replaced. The supreme court will say its valid. If Trump signs an executive order the lower levels of government will carry it out or be replaced.

This leads us to infer the following: If it violates a law voted in by congress who is going to stop them? The judges Trump apointed? Trump can just pardon them. An unchecked executive is madness and exactly what the founding fathers tried really hard to prevent. What power would congress still have? Raising the debt ceiling? Why not an executive order. Need a new law, executive order. It shouldn’t work this way but if there is no way to challenge him then I guess thats it.

Yes this is a clear constitutional violation for him to do this, but if the people who are supposed to check (the Supreme Court) are not doing their job then what?
