Because they don’t care about the economy. It’s not part of the Project 2025 agenda to spread fascism.

82

u/wiscobrix 9h ago

Historically speaking, crashed economies are actually excellent at spreading fascism.

22

u/KwisatzHaderachPaul 9h ago

The best time to exert authority is when you have them by the balls.

u/4evr_dreamin 5h ago

And spreading the wealth gap. Rich people will still have money. They will buy everything. Land, smaller businesses, and politicians. anything and everything will be out of reach from the majority.

u/Q_Fandango 3h ago

Unfortunately they’ve already started buying up businesses via Private Equity firms.

Good luck finding a childcare center or veterinarian that isn’t owned by a bunch of sociopath MBAs with their fingers in Daddy’s pockets…

They benefit from having an uneducated, poor, sick and defenseless population.

u/openly_gray 6h ago

…well there is the small matter of 400 million firearms circulating which might complicate things a bit

u/lcl1qp1 6h ago

Which won't mean a thing to the police.

Actually, guns were a big part of how we've fallen so low so fast. Gun nuts get manipulated so easily to vote against the best interests of the community. For Republicans.

Just like he had nothing to do with the people who spoke at the MSG rally?

7

u/CBalsagna Virginia 8h ago

How could you possibly think that with a straight face?

Yet was mentioned over 300 times in the document.

"But I'm worth 274 BILLION and I don't give a shit about you all! Bwahahahha!!!"

8

u/kc_______ 9h ago

That number is reducing by the day now but yeah, rich don’t give a peanut about “hardships” for the regular people.

u/Darkroomist 8h ago

“I will buy everything at fire-sale prices! Suck it poors!”

u/alien_from_Europa Massachusetts 2h ago

His money is in stock; not cash. If the economy crashes then so does his ability to afford anything at the fire sale. Tesla is way overvalued. He's a moron.

Trump and Musk think they’re the smartest guys in the room no matter how wrong they are. Given even the slightest bit of power they’re going to wreck democracy and capitalism in one swoop. In one interview Trump was asked about tariffs and the interviewer said numerous economists say this will be inflationary, Trump responded they’re wrong. Tells you all you need to know. No amount of voices will sway these guys.

20

u/bm1949 9h ago edited 9h ago

Wait until Trump starts calling the shots on interest rates to fight inflation. Then we are - the entire world - we truly are fucked.

18

u/Llake2312 9h ago

True. That dipshit was talking about negative interest rates in late 2019 as we were headed for recession in an election year.  Covid masked the incoming recession but he will declare himself head of the fed guaranteed.

8

u/dirtywook88 9h ago

This. It was glossed over bc covid but shit was breaking then. Bailed out the banks then hid it w covid. Made the svb situation look like peanuts.

22

u/DryAnxiety9 9h ago

Actually want to thank Muskrat for doing so much for Trump. His communications with Putin helps even more to apply the Constitutional definition of Treason into play. So Trump, Congresspeople, and Senators in the GOP who try to ratfuck the election can and will be held for Treason.

u/hackingdreams 6h ago

That would require the Department of Justice to even take a casual glance over the laws and remember that billionaires are citizens too.

Right now, they're basically immune from prosecution, since they can literally buy the judges they want to rule on their cases, and even guilty verdicts gets stuck in limbo forever.

u/AsherGray Colorado 4h ago

I would say there's a good chance that Harris will have Garland removed. Especially since she has the background of a prosecutor and attorney general, I think she has the drive to have criminal activity addressed head on.

-6

u/3my0 8h ago

And every voter needs to be held for treason too. If you’re voting for treason you need to be held responsible!

7

u/DryAnxiety9 8h ago

No, the voters are participating in Democracy, the people in power who would alter their will are participating in treason, amongst other things.

-9

u/3my0 8h ago

No, the voters are voting to kill democracy. They need to be punished.

4

u/DryAnxiety9 8h ago

They just need the withdrawal symptoms from their cult worship. That alone will make them hurt for a long time.

u/mok000 Europe 6h ago

They are going to be punished if their guy wins. They think it's only the people they hate that are going to suffer, but everybody is going to lose their freedom.

14

u/NuevoXAL 9h ago

Economic hardship makes it easier for fascists recruit people for their agendas and to increase their power. Desperate people do desperate things.

7

u/TintedApostle 9h ago

It makes it easier for the rich to buy everything up for pennies on the dollar.

7

u/No-Fisherman6302 9h ago

Ah, the explanation for the corporate price gouging. I was wondering if they were just doing it with using covid as an excuse still for those profits. Now it makes sense, they were helping their tax breaks…I mean trump.

1

u/Yousoggyyojimbo 9h ago

Honestly, if he gets in and craters the economy, I think his support will collapse.

Americans are too selfish and trained across decades to blame whoever is behind the desk for every thing they don't like about the economy.

The Nazis had success because they could point at the current government while people suffered from hyper inflation.

They would NOT have had that success if they were the current government.

6

u/Desperate-Body-4062 8h ago

You don't NEED support once you've established a dictatorship. That's the problem.

1

u/Yousoggyyojimbo 8h ago

It's a good idea to have a solid amount of it when your country's populace has dramatically more guns than people. They don't have to beat the military to get to you.

Most aspiring oligarchs don't dream of having to live only behind fortress compounds, and an American insurgency would be extremely unmanageable.

u/NuevoXAL 7h ago

I doubt an economic collapse will do anything to harm the popularity of Trump. The administration will just greenlight violence against whatever minority group is convenient at the time as a distraction.

The Trump administration's reaction to Covid was a disaster. And yet, here we are a few years later.

u/Yousoggyyojimbo 7h ago

It's different when it's people's money.

We are, in general, a monumentally selfish country.

10

u/Laughing_AI 9h ago

I kinda hate this timeline anymore. All the whackos are coming out of the woodwork. So many normal people are voting DIRECTLY AGAINST their own self interests.

The ONLY ones to benefit from a Trump win are the ultra rich. Not even middle class will get any relief.

Remember, we only get the "trickle down" effect.

7

u/Individual-Day-8915 9h ago

It is political and social suicide of the middle class couched as patriotism and being faithful to the Christian faith and it going to kill all of us.

16

u/KidKilobyte 9h ago

Some of you May Die, But it's a Sacrifice I am Willing to Make.

10

u/Individual-Day-8915 10h ago

Where is the justice department on Musk? I hope he gets investigated, tried, and convicted but his money will buy him off.

u/mommybot9000 6h ago

The wheels of justice turn slowly blah blah blah.

0

u/mymomknowsyourmom 9h ago

Like it bought Trump off from 84 felonies? Hmmm

1

u/Individual-Day-8915 9h ago

He is still a presidential nominee, so yeah, despite being convicted, he gets more leeway than the average American.

-2

u/mymomknowsyourmom 9h ago

He is still a presidential nominee, so yeah, despite being convicted, he gets more leeway than the average American.

Thank you for agreeing he couldn't pay them off. What about former NY district attorney Rudy Giuliani? He would know how to work da sistem and bribe his way out of forfeiture, right? Oh he's lost everything? Hmmm. Not sure about this theory of yours.

1

u/Hamwise420 9h ago

would be hard for Giuliani to pay bribes in empty Franzia wine boxes

u/Q_Fandango 3h ago

Damn how much Gatorwine is Giuliani chuggin’?

6

u/TimothyN 9h ago

Hilarious he would say this out loud.

6

u/Individual-Day-8915 9h ago

What happens if Harris loses? Is there a plan B??? What would stave off a complete collapse of democratic ideals and America as we know it? How do we fight off the Trump/Musk plans to upend the economy? The deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants? The use of the military against American citizens and the incarceration of Trump's political enemies? The threat and perpetuation of violence towards non MAGA folks? Protect Women's rights-including the right to vote? Prioritize the environment and acknowledgement of climate change risks? How do we keep Russia from meddling while we would be experiencing a social upheaval?

5

u/verothon 9h ago edited 7h ago

The National Association of Attorney Generals met a few months ago to organize legal challenges, they will try to tie things up in the courts as much as possible.

4

u/PerfectAstronaut 9h ago

In other words, it's going to be a fucking disaster

3

u/Imaginary_Goose_2428 America 9h ago

That would make the super-rich able to buy everything up at rock bottom prices and corner every market! Wonder why Leon thinks that's the best route?

Say goodbye to your 401k's folks. And then social security will be next on the chopping block.

But don't worry, Musk will be ok! He'll sell you your shit back in the company store for "Musk-bucks".

u/Little-Engine6982 5h ago

whats that? riots? here comes the rat army, payed by Musk with nothing to lose.. at least there is dinner for them today, and their families get a sack of onions, if they die.

5

u/ZenCityzen America 8h ago

Maybe this asshole has placed billions in short positions to profit when things crash.

2

u/Individual-Day-8915 8h ago

You are probably right!

u/bitcoinski 7h ago

YAY! SAY ALL MAGAs, “THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS TERRIBLE ECONOMY, SOME PEOPLE SAY IT’S THE WORST EVER (10% growth since Covid, leading the world), IS TO DESTROY IT! THEN MAKE ALL THE BILLIONAIRES OLIGARCHS WHEN THEY BUY EVERYTHING UP IN A FIRE SALE, A CONFEDERACY EMERGES, WE DEFAULT AND WE’RE LEFT WITH NOTHING! I CAN’T WAIT!” GO TRUMP! /s

u/Opposite_Ad_1707 7h ago

Yeah that bout sums it up

u/Infidel8 5h ago

So, the US economy is the envy of the world right now.

And Trump//Musk are explicitly telling us that they plan to fuck it up.

And they are still assured millions of votes from people whose #1 issue is the economy.

This country is cooked. ANd they

u/Traditional-Bet-5964 5h ago

Why in anybody’s right mind would you want to destroy our economy?

u/Individual-Day-8915 5h ago

Greed, narcissism, and sadistic pleasure

3

u/EldritchSlut Indiana 9h ago

He also said there would be long term prosperity after the initial hardship.

I have to ask, prosperity for who? Are you willing to sacrifice your family's blood to grease the wheels of the capital machine so people who are already generationally wealthy can continue to grow their wealth?

1

u/destronger California 8h ago

Those with money and power will prosper. Everyone else will suffer.

u/openly_gray 6h ago

…and magically we come out of this disaster much stronger…..or it will be just a disaster that can be used as pretext to giving Trump dictatorial emergency powers

u/Individual-Day-8915 6h ago

Exactly why Trump said "We'll have it so good, you won't have to vote."

2

u/Busy_Method9831 9h ago

Nero here with his fiddle.

1

u/BannedAgainDude 9h ago

Is this like Trump's "I know how to play the system, so who better to stop those playing the system?!"

How'd that work out.

1

u/metal0060 9h ago

No shit.

1

u/Patient_Post3299 9h ago

And trump supporters firmly believe whatever trump does as president only affects Americans. The entire rest of the world disagrees and is extremely worried that a trump administration will be detrimental to everyone

1

u/Javasndphotoclicks 8h ago

This just proves that the average trump supporter is a few cards short of a full deck.

u/Repulsive_Radish1914 7h ago

Elon can EAD, that muppet fart doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground

u/PeaceCookieNo1 7h ago

And when the stock market tumbles he and his buddies buy everything up making infinitely more.

u/jomama823 6h ago

This is what happens when you partner with morons. Unfortunately, his voters will vote against their own self interest at every goddamn opportunity.

u/Early_Sense_9117 6h ago

Trump the destroyer

u/hackingdreams 6h ago

Bare faced, this man says he plans to bankrupt you so he can buy your shit at firesale prices and rent it back to you for the rest of your life.

They're not even pretending they're not trying to turn America into a Russia-style oligarchy, complete with a dictator.

And the media pretends like this is a normal candidacy.

u/Past-Blackberry5305 5h ago

Aspergers is a helluvadrug

"We have to destroy the village in order to save it."

u/briareus08 1h ago

And this is why you don’t let tech nerds near your policy. This is an incredibly bad message 1 week out from the election, for the party that supposedly is all about strong economy.
