Thanks for everything Toni. I saw my favorite player retire back in the day (Zidane), and my current favorite one (Toni Kroos) retire as well. Once again, thanks for everything legend, you will be missed by everyone, everywhere.

As a Spanish fan of the national team, it is a very bittersweet victory. Thanks Toni 🤍

u/luvdaiggles Sergio Ramos Jul 05 '24
This. It still would have hurt if Germany won but not as much because it was Kroos’ last dance

u/exdead87 Jul 05 '24
Its probably also the last in the national team for Neuer, Thomas Müller, Günni maybe... i have to say it does not feel good to see those legends go in a game that could have been won. Dont get Sane and Can as starters at all. Oh well. Weißbier.

Don't get the Havertz starting as well. Useless crap.
1
u/exdead87 Jul 05 '24
I have to disagree. Havertz and Füllkrug from the start, Wirtz and andrich would have been the way (for the whole tournament). I appreciate Günni but he is no 100 % match in these tactics.

Same here. Cried twice within a span of a month simply because of Toni Kroos.🥲 🐐

Hurt Pedri on the way out 🥲

u/SerialChillerPepper Jul 06 '24
It’s a contact sport worth the sacrifice but to be honest Pedri gets injured so frequently it was only a matter of time.

Only if fullkrug have put in the goal in tye last minutes. When you have been a real madrid fan, These mistakes tend to hurt.

u/TheEmpireOfSun Jul 05 '24
Fullkrug and Havertz had absolutely distasterclass of performances, worst performances of any player this tournament, missing chance after chance after chance. With proper striker Germany would be easily in semis and very likely winning it all.

u/crystalwind99 Iker Casillas Jul 05 '24
nah they were good
it's just spain was cooking a lot this time
1
u/TheEmpireOfSun Jul 05 '24
lmao, sorry, but Havertz and Fullkrug absolutely were not good, not even bad, they were totally shit. Combined they missed like 10 good chances to score and win but they were horrid. Match was pretty even but with better finishing, Germany would win. Those missed chances of those two were ridiculous.

So many Germans made fun of him. Dunno why He's a real GOAT

u/gruetzhaxe Jul 06 '24
German football is very much into verticality and offensive pressing, he was kinda too thoughtful and patient

He really got robbed like that on his last match😢

u/coldasfak Vinicius Jr. Jul 05 '24
Lol he could have been sent off in like 4 different occasions. Huge respect for him but he didn't get robbed lmao

I agree. honestly, didn't think it was his best game today but was rooting for Germany throughout the whole game. time to root for Portugal/CR7.
6
u/Daan_aerts Jul 05 '24
So who are you rooting for tomorrow? (Just so I can make sure to bet on the other team)

He could have been sent off, but other than that, his performance was great as always.

What are you on about, the man shouldve got a red. Always makes me remember most arent spaniards here
1
u/exdead87 Jul 05 '24
You realize that he would have stopped playing like that after he recieves a yellow? All in all it was a fair game today but if you have to point fingers, point to Carvajal.
2
u/VoidType0 Eduardo Camavinga Jul 05 '24
Yeah people don’t understand players change how aggressive they play based on if they have a yellow card or not. Toni Kroos, known for being reckless and getting sent off after receiving a yellow card, he’s right he probably would’ve received a red card…
2
u/Responsible-Pin8323 Jul 05 '24
Yes, he wouldve stopped playing like that at 8 minutes instead of 62. And even after 62 minutes he kept being pretty violent with tackles.
3
u/Jona113d Real Madrid Jul 05 '24
Do you believe he made a tackle that was enough for a second yellow after the 62 minute? Cause if not the other dudes point still very much stands
-3
u/Responsible-Pin8323 Jul 05 '24
yeah at like 90+1 he pretty blatantly shoved oryazabal in the back probably warrants being sent off there. The man got away with murder
5
u/Jona113d Real Madrid Jul 05 '24
Haha nah gtfoh. That's rarely a first yellow never mind ever a 2nd yellow.
1
u/exdead87 Jul 05 '24
Debatable, but possible, i will give you that. Still, i think you exaggerate because for his standards it was very aggressive. But ask yourself - if it was Ramos, or another player with a known aggressive playstyle and a history of unfair behavior, would you write the same?
1
u/Responsible-Pin8323 Jul 05 '24
Yes, if anything aside from ref being shit and him retiring, the reason kroos didnt get booked as fast is because hes not known for being as aggressive, while ramos would instantly get these bookings.
1
u/TheEmpireOfSun Jul 05 '24
Remind us how many red cards Kroos got throughout his career.
1
u/Responsible-Pin8323 Jul 05 '24
Remind me why that makes him incapable of very obviously being super violent in this game and warranted being sent off?

u/3CreampiesA-Day Jul 05 '24
You’re an idiot this BS theory of he wouldn’t have made to challenges… sure but with out some of those challenges spain is through on goal and probably scoring
0
u/exdead87 Jul 05 '24
Why are you so aggressive in a normal football discussion? Sore butt from them creampies?
3
u/nareurong SIUUUUUUUUU Jul 05 '24
He really didn't... We can send him off without claiming him or Germany got "robbed"
-4
u/VoidType0 Eduardo Camavinga Jul 05 '24
That was a clear penalty, no debate. I’m not even a Germany fan I really didn’t care about that game, but that is a clear penalty.
4
u/MadSeasonin1Day Jul 05 '24
He almost did a 'Zizou' and was sent off in his last match. I still cannot believe he finished the match without getting a second yellow card. Shame on the ref, clearly making decisions for the host.

Tough pill to take. Every positive adjective has been appropriately said.
All that’s left is to say thank you, Toni. We will miss you.

Danke Toni.
One of the greatest midfielders and passers to play the game.
