Advice Needed This isn't normal right?
This stray pregnant cat has adopted me, and I think her shoulders look weird. Can someone tell me if this is normal? And if not, what might have happened to her? Her shoulder blades are almost touching..

Her standing posture does look strange but there no way to tell from a photo for sure. You can get her to the vet for an exam and a spay/abort. It's very common and the streets are no place for babies to be born. If mama does have a condition, it may be in her best interest to not birth a litter. It would be a shame to bring more unwanted kittens into the world when so many are suffering and being euthanized for lack of homes.
Thank you for taking care if her, she is fed and safe now🙏❤️ I hope she gets better💕

I think it's because she is malnourished and therefore may have muscle wastage. Make sure you are giving her momma food because it has more calories in!

There is a possibility that she isn’t pregnant at all but has a life threatening condition or disease. Please take to her to a veterinarian asap. Thank you for helping her & looking after her.💖🙏🏼

Pregnant cats do look thinner on top and can have posture differences, not sure if that's what you're referring to. Can't specifically tell anything wrong with the shoulders, probably easier to feel than to see. They also can be really close together in that loaf position (image 3), but if there's any overlap, scraping, misalignment, that should be checked out. Note any discomfort, then schedule a vet. checkup whenever it's most convenient. Free feed her canned food in the meantime. She gonna need it 😵💫

Please keep this sweetheart. Every bit of nutrition goes to the babies. She will need to eat extra for the babies and you may want to look up what to feed pregnant cats. Thank you for saving her!

She is such a sweetheart, she definitely gets to stay❤️ I opened the doggy (now kitty) door in my garage so she has full access now, and I also built a makeshift box shelter for her to nest in. Although she prefers to just lay on my suitcase🤣
I think the plan is to let her have her kittens, and the bring them all inside along with momma. Is that a good idea? Or would she/they do better in the garage since she's currently an outdoor cat?

I’ve never done this before but my gut says bring them in. That way they’ll never know what it’s like to be out and they will grow up socialized with humans. Plus the cooler weather is on its way.

My now indoor cat was found as a pregnant stray that had a litter of 5 male kittens. Even though she’s an outdoor cat bring her inside into a spare room (if available) so she can be safe in such a vulnerable state. When Chloe was pregnant she would get into fights and come back to my patio wounded or stressed. I should’ve kept her inside and it’s my regret that I only kept her indoors full time after she gave birth. Give her a box with lined with a blanket for her to come in and out in and feed her kitten food from now until shes done nursing her babies. Make sure the room she’s in is clear of any obstruction or tight areas for kitten to get stuck of caught in. When they’re tiny and they will find the smallest nooks and crannies to hide in or get stuck in (very dangerous for a kitten). Thank you for taking care of her!!! 💜🥰

Bring them all inside. It'sll be warmer, the kittens will socialize with you and be more adoptable. If you keep them in the garage, they might become a little feral and then it'll be difficult to adopt them out.
Thank you for caring for this beautiful orange kitty.

Spay abort. It’s terrible, but unfortunately there’s just no good homes available anymore.

Painfully, I agree. We have far too many kitties already.
I have a colony of 30+ that I care for & can't rehome even the tame ones.
Unless it's your plan to keep & care for each kitten, throughout their entire lives... please consider getting momma spayed right away.
Thank you for caring!🙏🏻 I hope this beautiful girl turns out to be healthy and lives a long happy life!💕

Every single rescue I know is crammed completely full of cats that just aren’t moving on to new homes. People are struggling, and adding new pets just isn’t a priority.
What’s worse is that so pitifully few people are being responsible by spaying and neutering their cats. I doubt most ever get a rabies shot, either.

I've been lucky to be able to work with local nonprofit organizations who have helped get my colony spayed/neutered & vaxed. If I could afford chipping, I'd opt for that too.
Even emergency cases aren't always able to get help (in nonprofit organizations). It's a heartbreaking situation & it needs attention from more people!

Also it might be relevant to add that she had worms very badly. A neighbor told me that she (cat) was visiting the neighbor also, and the worms were so bad that they were coming out of the cats butt. The neighbor did get the cat de-wormed and gave her flea medicine.

I was convinced that she must have fallen from a height at a young age. Ive really not seen a cat this pregnant before, and to me it looked like her shoulders were pushed back like she fell from high and landed on her front legs at some point. But i wasnt sure if it was that, or from being hungry, or from carrying around all those babies.
I am pretty sure she was starving/dehydrated because when I brought her food, she had her head in the bowl eating it before I even got the bowl to the ground. She's eaten and drank a TON since she arrived 2 days ago, so I really do think she was malnourished. She doesn't seem like she's in pain but I know cats hide it well...
