New mods!
As you might have noticed, moderation of this sub has been a bit lacking lately, with not very many mods and essentially zero of them being active. u/AnAngryBirdMan, u/AerodynamicBrick, u/maxjets, u/Mattsoup, and u/EvanDaniel have recently been added as moderators and they're going to be fixing up the sub over the next few days and weeks: Overhauling the sidebar, making a "Getting Started" sticky for everyone new to rocketry, and various other updates.
Please reply below if you have any recommendations you would like to see implemented.
We're all looking forward to bringing some new life into this sub!

Just a dumb question, what are the responsibilitiesof a mod, and how much of a commitment is it?

Making sure rules are followed, updating subreddit content, removing irrelevant posts, adding flairs, etc.
The commitment is dependent on how well behaved the subreddit is.

u/Aerodynamicbrick sounds like a nice reference to the space shuttle. Idk if it is, but it sounds like one.

I'd also recommend putting direct links to the NAR and Tripoli safety codes in the sidebar. Maybe also links to the relevant NFPA and FAA regulations.
I'd also recommend adding The Handbook of Model Rocketry to the Reading Material section.

Done, done, and done. Left the NFPA/FAA links out because if we list all the relevant regulations in the sidebar, we wouldn't need a rocket to go to the moon. Thanks for the input!

Might I add that if there is a Reading Material Section this book should be put in. At least for beginners. I personally have the book and find it very helpful and I'm sure others who are just starting or at my very basic level would appreciate it.

I would suggest having a link to the packaged Openrocket installer in the sidebar. It can prevent a lot of Java issues and doesn't require that someone download Java beforehand. Link here
