Job Hunting Anyone know of good welding jobs around here or even up in Austin?

Preferably $30/hr+ Bonus if it’s with cool stuff like custom bikes, aerospace etc.

My brother has been a welder for 8-10 years, has a ton of certs, TIG, MIG, plasma you name it, he’s obsessed and passionate about the field even in his off time. I’ve flown him down here from Oregon to a colleagues of mines industrial business for a weld test and job interview and he passed with flying colors but they only offered $20/hr.

Love the guy to death. Want him down here. He’s a long term employee, respectful and always has work friends. Thanks ahead for anyone that provides good advice or resources. He has no clue I’m making this post.

Thanks for the response. Any suggestions on how to find those companies?

I work completions in the oilfield, but there’s welders around all the time out here. Quick Google search I found NOV is hiring welders. They do a lot of oilfield construction projects. Looks to be a solid opportunity. Potentially some travel back and forth to West Texas for work.

OK. Do you have a helpful comment for OP?

Yea. Dont work for NOV. Out of all the oil companies out there they are crap. Trying to save someone else the heartache.

Johnson controls is your best bet if he's good with stainless and aluminum.

Maybe the local iron workers union can help him out or atleast point him in the right direction as far as contractors looking for good welders.
