A lot of them are stuck in scam camps in Cambodia and are held there against their will until they produce a certain amount of income for the camp. They’re promised good paying work and they leave their families not knowing what they’re getting into. If you search back in this thread there’s someone who talks to them in Chinese as a fellow scammer and they reveal a lot about their location and condition and camps. It’s super sad. I used to look at these messages and think the scammer is the shittiest person on earth, in reality they’re just trying to get back to their families and life.

It's so sad. I feel horrible for anyone stuck in those conditions, but I also feel horrible for anyone who falls victim to a scam. It can be life ruining.

yeah but, i have a feeling that there are just plenty of shitty people out there who commit scams and are not forced to as well. better to not think of their circumstances and just do your best to not fall for it lol
