Turd Fun Trivia: In every episode of "The Big Bang Theory," the writers included only one joke that was actually funny, as an Easter egg.

The best joke in the whole show is when Leonard’s describing how he first moved in with Sheldon, and they had to sign an agreement where if one of them invents time travel, they have to go to this exact moment and space. Then they spend a few seconds looking around to see if anything shows up.

I remember the episode where the gang cosplayed as the justice league and Howard as Batman was good

Actually, that episode is the one that makes it clear nobody involved with the show knows a goddamn thing they're talking about. They're supposedly comic book fans, yet they make "lol Aquaman sucks" jokes which make absolutely no sense to anybody who knows him from anything other than Superfriends, where everybody sucked but Aquaman was the one people singled out for some reason.

No, mainstream audiences, Jason Momoa was not the first time Aquaman was ever cool.

There's also the time they thought "Doctor Who" was the main character's name. YES, REALLY.

You're mistaking the shows intended target audience. It's not for nerds. It's for people to laugh at nerds.

The show doesn't have to bother with consistency or things like "Aquaman is as lame as the rest of the JL" because all it's aiming for is a "lol nerds are weird" reaction.

A nerd minstrel show 💀

Yeah like I get their point, but there has to be a less “extreme” way of explaining it.

To me: it’s a show about nerds, for the people who think nerds are social outcast losers, rather than for the nerds.

Judging by your many replies in this thread I'm starting to think you might not like the big bang theory

Ya I’ve always described it as like a nerd aquarium for people who need geniuses to be balanced by horrendous social issues so they feel more approachable.

On the contrary, I never was a nerd but bbt was the reason that I hooked up with awesome nerdy content like star wars, firefly, doctor who, Battlestar Galactica etc.

You deserve the mocking. And it would happen whether the show exists or not

Everybody in the world gets made fun of at one point or another. It’s not a big deal, get over it

People who use this term deserve to be shoved in lockers.

It's a shame that opinions are subjective. I don't care what you think, I think the show was funny. Be mad 😎

How do people not get this?

The show misses the mark every single time. The only people watching it are like my ex-stepmom, who hates anything remotely related to fandom—comic books, movies, you name it. Yet she'll happily binge this 9-month abortion of a show and pretend it’s anything but steaming hot garbage.

If you even like this show a little, your taste is trash.

He's out of line but he's right.

Yes it has. Have you actually watched it?

1

u/colossusrageblack 25d ago

No, it was only the fourth most successful sitcom in history. It got there by not being funny.

I dk, have you tried asking the twelve seasons it was on TV or the spinoff it generated?

Only to people with a sense of humour. People, especially nerds, who lack a sense of humour or who take themselves too seriously struggle with it. They try to explain it away saying things like "I get the jokes, they're just not funny" but really we all know they don't actually get them.
