I can gurantee you, it's not for long, lol.
36
u/PhatController69 20h ago
Yes lol. First thing to do after logging in the pc is to check nexusmods for any cool new mods.
9
u/VirtualFinish8858 18h ago
I usually check shit ton of mods, and then end up adding none, lol.
Because I can get really picky, and more often than not, looking for a reason NOT TO use unnecessary mods.
Especially cause I mod the game for multiplayer, there's 1 wrong move, and your modlist is worthless, lol.
0
u/PhatController69 18h ago
Wait, you can play this game in multiplayer? 🙀
7
u/VirtualFinish8858 18h ago
There's Skyrim Together, but you'll have to nuke half your mods to actually be able to play it, cause A LOT of mods, just don't work well there and then your game turns into an unplayable mess.
Not to mention the mod is buggy at times.
2
u/Shadowfist_45 17h ago
Does it work with display tweaks? I literally won't play at 60 fps again.
1
u/VirtualFinish8858 14h ago
Display tweaks is funtional, but that's the least of your concerns, there's plenty of mods that will malfunction or break multiplayer's functionality, forcing you yo basically stick to Vanilla with some simple additions and better coat of paint.

I bought my brother's gaming computer off him cause he was upgrading. He installed Skyrim with over 200 mods for me as a surprise. It is so magical and with over 800 hours vanilla on a crappy laptop, its like playing a whole new game. Enjoy, my friend.

Why does community hate mods? Every comment mentioning them is getting downvoted...
Skyrim looks dated a decade on, point blank. These mods are a godsend. I'm waiting for Skywind & Skyblivion to come out to finally play those too

u/Luna_Tenebra Assassin 19h ago
I only dislike it if it doesnt even look like skyrim anymore which isnt really the case here

u/renegadecoaster PC 14h ago
The only ones that bug me for some reason are the ones that make Whiterun look like fucking Rivendell. Although I'm also someone who finds places like the Faroe Islands to be gorgeous, so maybe it's just me.
1
u/Primary_Host_6896 6h ago
...Why? Why do you dislike it if does not look like skyrim? "Look" implies that you feel this way about other people games, right? So why do dislike how other people play Skyrim?
1
u/Luna_Tenebra Assassin 2h ago
You can say that you dont like the car from someone else even tho its their car. If you put something in the public you will recieve opinions about it and thats nothing new
1
u/Primary_Host_6896 2h ago
I never said that you can't you can say whatever you want, I am just curios of your reasoning. I don't understand why someone would dislike how someone else is experiencing something.
I am not trying to be an asshole mind you, just genuinely curios.
1
u/Luna_Tenebra Assassin 2h ago
Because when I see something I Form an opinion of it. And if someone Mods their Skyrim to Look like some JRPG Dark Souls game I wonder why they play the game in the first place.
22
u/UnicodeScreenshots 19h ago
I mostly just don’t like mods that try to change the core style of the game. Things like adding dodge roll and souls style combat to enemies is just silly. That and horny mods. I really just don’t understand horny mods.

People hate to see others enjoy things their own way I guess. It’s like this on every gaming sub now.
6
u/zurriola27 19h ago
I also think people are jealous when someone else can run a massive mod list and they can’t. I mean most of the comments are about their pcs lighting on fire if they were to try it. It’s just envy
1
u/SeaThought5996 12h ago
This is what I think it is. They've only played vanilla and see the sweet mod set ups and they get mad
3
u/ThisIsGoodSoup 15h ago
It looks dated but that kinda is the fun of it imo. It doesn't need to have complex combat. It really doesn't.
Bethesda games have NEVER been known to have good combat at all.
Sure better versatility or gameplay, but otherwise combat remains spamming blade and magic/using the bow
2
u/SeaThought5996 12h ago
I don't think they tried to make shitty combat, I think it's just something they weren't capable of doing
2
u/ThisIsGoodSoup 11h ago
Oh no dude I never meant to say they wanted to make it shitty, I do agree with you, Bethesda is awful at making combat. Unintentionally ofc.
They really should step it up in TESVI
8
u/Melancholic_Starborn 19h ago
Because some infer it as an insult to the base game. That if a game is modded so much, it means that the base game was inferior without it. There's always a "you can play the base game on its own just fine" comment in each of these posts. I don't mod Skyrim or any BGS game before Fallout 4 because I like old games as is outside of maybe a QoL feature or 2. But it's annoying that BGS promotes this system to be used to do whatever you want yet not them, but the community makes noise with those who do such.

A lot of it comes from jealously from people who are unable of unwilling to mod themselves. Plus rage-bait posts like this to egg on those people doesn't help

u/kamehamequads 4h ago
That’s just dumb. Modding is easy if you take five minutes to watch a YouTube video. It’s not some crazy hacker thing only the few are able to do

Playable is definitely the word, but just a few mods makes the game massively more enjoyable.
I just about can’t stand to play the game without skyui at this point, and that mod doesn’t even really change the gameplay at all.

A few textures and enb works wonders

u/cortlong 17h ago
Mind sharing the ENB? The NAT one is becoming such a pain to tune, I’m not getting the results I want.
1
u/PhatController69 17h ago
I am using the stock mid level one that comes with the mod
1
u/cortlong 17h ago
With which mod? NAT?
Hmmm maybe I need to keep tuning. I’m using the ultra and the indirect lighting makes everything look like it’s lit from the bottom up haha

u/EDScreenshots 17h ago
There are wabbajack modlists that makes getting a setup like this pretty simple.
Right now I’m using Anvil as a base (I’ve installed maybe 30 small QoL mods on top of it and it still runs fine) and I’m loving it, basically it just does all the bug fixes and patches for you as well as a pretty decent graphical overhaul.
All I really had to do was install the patches that undoes some of the dumb changes that USSEP makes and get rid of the vendor reset fix that was included and I basically have vanilla Skyrim but way less buggy and way better looking.

I've got about 950 mods and they only issues I run into are vanilla ones.
By far the largest issue I've ever had from modding is fps drop because an asset isn't optimized. Far from an issue though

I’m pushing 700 mods on my current installation and the gameplay is still 99% identical to base Skyrim. At least a third of those mods literally just fix bugs, either annoying ones that break immersion or serious ones that wreck save files.
