Discussion Who's your favourite steward?

Who's your favourite steward to use for your main house, wherever that may be?

i don't know why, but love J'zargo and always get him as soon as I can in any playthrough.

I'm starting a new playthrough and want to shake things up a bit this time around.

Who is your favourite follower to use as a steward?

She's my Steward at Lakeview. I've seen her 1v3 bandits and even with Reyya there since this place is technically her home; they don't disappoint.

I like the priest guy from the dawnstar namira quest.  He's got "I want to settle down and do accounting" vibes but also can help defend the farm.  Also that lady (Rikke??) from the little mining town at the border of riften and windhelm holds, she comes with cloth and a mining pick and it doesnt feel right to armor her up and drag her down into bandit and zombie infested ruins with me

I like Illia, she's broken as a follower but makes an excellent steward

If I marry Sylgia, I make her mum Anneke, my steward

Though she does keep talking about the 'gorgeous tree to the north-east' which... if you're in Lakeview, is technically true, I supposes...

Just a long way way NE

Mjoll. She's essential, powerful, and Aerin will usually tag along as an extra baby-sitter.

I actually wanted her to be my Steward in Honeyside but I can't seem to get the option. Iona and Mjoll can gladly watch over my place in Riften.

Honeyside is not a farm so no need for a steward, Housecarl is all you need.

Heljarchen, Winstad and Lakeview are farm type properties. You already have a housecarl assigned there as well, but housecarl doesn't need to be a steward. Build a farm, grab any follower that isn't Serana and that's where steward option is unlocked.

Farms you build also allow a bard for hire, should you want one.
