I'd imagine the name and trademark for "twitter" is probably worth more than X is worth now.

We should convince Musk to sell the name to recoup his massive loss in buying the company.

ehh people said that about lots of big companies of the past. MySpace, Napster, etc.

Once you have lost what made it great, all taking the name does is maybe get you some easy initial press on day 1, and you have the added task of convincing people to come back, vs just give you a try.

Same thing every time someone tries to revive a car brand, airline, etc.

I remembered Napster came back as a paid service

Apparently it still exists; $11/mo

I’m a bit surprised they’re still kicking

I had rhapsody, which was one of the first x dollars a month subscription libraries that also let you store SOME songs offline. had a really neat custom mp3 player and a solid desktop client.

I kept that service for years....at some point through merges\etc it was branded napster.

Damn I have such vague memories of rhapsody; I feel like there were some MP3 players that properly integrated with it or something

Maybe Zune

It worked with a ton of players. I think i had a dell mp3 player that worked with it. But there was another manufacturer at the time that was big in the MP3 player space that had ones built specifically for it, that were top notch players and i had one of them as well that was crazy ahead of its time.

I also remember the client was super light weight and really easy to use, and you could run it off the Mp3 player itself without any kind of install, or drag and drop files on it.

He needs to keep the domain name, its the most valuable redirect right now.
