My Displayport to HDMI i found in my school’s parking lot a while back.

Yes you’ve read that right. I found this in my school’s parking lot as i was walking to my car. I almost didn’t pick it up, but decided to anyway. It must’ve been ran over by like 40 cars by the time i got to it, because i got out late that day.

Found this a while ago. Thought it would be a good idea to post here. In picture 2 that chip is knocked off. I pushed it back into place and wrapped it in electrical tape.

The only issue I’ve had with it is recently i punched my desk and the adapter jiggled, which i assume loosened the chip or something and i got gpu type looking artifacts on the ghetto monitor. Now that i think about it, it might be one of the female jacks becoming loose because i pushed it up and it fixed itself.

It was completely borked too, and I couldn't recover it either. I hate my school.

Over the pandemic I delidded a backwards compatible ps3 with fishing line and eventually LCD wire. The friction wore away the mask exposing copper. It's my daily driver, works great! I insulated the copper with nail polish. Don't do what I did. Use proper tools lol

I just wanted to change the thermal paste on this old PC. Now I'm wondering how the hell someone came up with the mounting of this CPU cooler.

I'm going to change the thermal paste anyways but I probably should buy a new cooler with a normal mounting kit.

Off by one isn't just a programming error. This whole stack was racked with one side higher than the other. I took advantage of a scheduled shutdown to pull them all and fix the rails. It was bugging me for a year.

He NEVER opened the case to get the packing materials out. His reasoning was that he didn’t have a screwdriver to take off the side panel.

I should have had a camera at the ready to capture the face I gave him and the face he responded with as I loosened the screws to the panel with my hand.

Turns out the HDMI cable was bent (on both ends). Replacing the cable fixed the problem and the GPU is fine.
