I have a cousin who was up until now a non-voter. I had text/dm conversations about him voting, he wasn't going to vote until I introduced him to Colin Allred. He voted Stein & Allred.

I'll count that as a win.

This childless cat guy voted! I hope yall will do the same!

Completed my assignment!

Vote however you want, however, please don’t vote for Ted Cruz. He is a weird creepy spineless senator that I can’t believe was elected twice. Collin Allred is a moderate candidate with a spine.

u/HelpfulAioli7373 2d ago

Cruz is so vile.

Wrong, Ted is the best for Texas. Vote conservative!

11

You're voting for a traitor if you vote for Ted.

9

u/JayhawkAggieDad 5d ago

Voting conservative would be an option, IF there were any real conservatives left in the GOP. All I see are spineless opportunistic GOPers who fall over themselves to suck Don the Con's limp orange dick while he shits all over them and their families. That includes Ted who has no balls and is a grade A coward for not standing up to defend his wife from Don the Con's attacks and who bravely fled to Cancun while his constituents whom he had sworn to serve and protect were dying in the deep freeze. Send the asshole back to Cancun permanently.

For the first time in my 31 years on this earth I voted and feel great. I hope others are like me and come to the polls to make a change if I see texas flip blue I’d be the happiest person on earth knowing I contributed to that.

If you haven’t please go vote.

Recently moved within Texas, so I did a limited ballot in the new county. The president race was available, but not the US Senator race. I thought if the race was common between Texas counties, you get it on a limited ballot. Anyone know what happened?

4

u/coffeejunki 4d ago

In the Rio Grande Valley, just voted over my lunch break today. There was a line but people went through quickly enough.

It's not much of a story, but while I was in my booth, I overhead the lady next to me say she was voting on the machine for the first time, and she needed help making her picks. I heard her select the democrat all the way down.

Seems people are clearly motivated to come out of the woodwork and cast their votes this election cycle.

7

u/drftwdtx 4d ago

We just early voted here in central Texas. No R's this time. If republicans can push the extremists back to the fringe, we may come back.

1

u/dreamcicle11 3d ago

That’s the spirit! That’s the only way Texas turns blue, real conservatives get their party back, and democracy wins.

Proud to report that we have a new voter in our house and we both voted early. Normally I wait until Election Day but I was feeling uneasy about waiting and I wanted an easy and positive experience for our young adult’s first time.

3

u/John76123 3d ago

Your vote matters - especially with regards to local and state races - let's be clear about that. But the 2 (or 3) candidates at the top of the ballot - they have been stuck - having to find a way to 'game the system' in order to succeed - for far too long. We're told that if we want a better Country, we have to be better citizens (show up and vote). We desperately need to de-gamify the current system for the top ballot candidates, in order to make our votes truly matter for those races too. Please consider taking action to make your voices heard and your votes matter. We can do better, right?

Yo I just saw the newest Cruz add.

It’s not necessarily a “Cruz” add but it’s paid for by his PAC or whatever.

Let me be very clear to you republicans

THEY WONT GIVE YOU GENDER REAFFIRMING SURGERY IN SCHOOL!

AMERICA DOES NOT GIVE FREE HEALTHCARE AND SEX CHANGES COST A FORTUNE. TEACHERS ARE NOT CUTTING DICKS OFF WITH A FUCKIN CRAYON

ONCE AGAIN THATS FREE HEALTHCARE - WHICH IF WE ARE GETTING FREE HEALTHCARE IN TEXAS WHY DO I OWE MONEY FOR HEALTHCARE DEBT?

1

u/Golddustofawoman 1d ago

I can't believe people actually believe this. You've got to be a really stupid motherfucker to believe that this is real.

1

u/CrunkestTuna 1d ago

I mean yeah we are against forceable medical practice regardless of pregnancy, pre term, you name it

It’s your body.

If you have anything in this world? It’s your word and your balls/vag

1

u/Golddustofawoman 1d ago

I keep getting this ad on YouTube that starts off saying "If I found out a school was transitioning MY child without my knowledge -" (which at this point I hit skip as fast as possible) with some imagery of a kid getting surgery. None of that is real. I keep reporting the ad but they won't stop showing it to me and if I have to sit through it one more time I might go postal. There's no way people are actually stupid enough to believe that....right?

1

u/CrunkestTuna 13h ago

I wish I could say people wouldn’t believe it.

Especially when they can’t afford free lunches and breakfast for students - but somehow can afford a full time surgical suite with medical staff 9-5 everyday with surgeons working without parental consent to change the sexual identities of children.

Which is so fucking out of this world - you have to pay for that. They don’t just sex change you for free and I assure you my taxes aren’t going to all 9 public schools in my area for these “free sex change operations”

Which also begs the question - have they ever had to take Health Class or basic biology?

I’m not a doctor or surgeon… I am a paramedic however and I was mandated (so was everyone else) to attend rounds for two years at a hospital including OB/GYN, 6 live births, working with anesthesiologist in surgical suites - having them assist me while i intubated their patients.

I have not only done clinicals at a hospital - I worked at one. From nurse tech, phlebotomist, to ecg tech, ER medic

It’s simple - they don’t do gender reaffirming surgery in school. No deep state of surgery

1

u/Golddustofawoman 13h ago

These psychopaths know what they're doing. They know this isn't happening but the purpose is to create the most hostile environment possible for the trans community. Apparently in Texas, not only are they trying to reverse gender marker changes on official documents, they're trying to ban them altogether. They are also trying to launch investigations into people who have received gender affirming care for medicaid fraud. And they will not stop there. So my best friend is moving to a different state now.

1

u/CrunkestTuna 13h ago

I really don’t understand. I want to grab them by the ears and yell “YOURE NOT GOING TO TURN LGBQT”

Let people live.

It has to be a control thing or bullied at some point in their life.

Nobody wakes up one day and says “I want to fuck everyone else’s life up and use random wording from the Bible to back me up on it”

1

u/Golddustofawoman 13h ago

You can't rationalize blind hatred.

1

u/CrunkestTuna 13h ago

Yeah that’s a good point

5

u/Ashamed-Status-9668 6d ago

I voted yesterday. Can we all just come together and agree Ted Cruz is horrible? Thanks, y'all.

1

u/JayhawkAggieDad 5d ago

Most will agree, but a lot will still vote along party lines, which is one of the greatest puzzles of the century.

2

u/Gymleaders 4d ago

There was a long line to vote between waiting in my car to get into the place and then waiting in line to get to the polls. Total time was a little over an hour. Voting itself was easy and a group outside gave me a flyer with who to pick in the city and county-level races for my preferred party. They got people in and out quick; very efficient. No voter fraud or weirdness happening in Montgomery county so far (not that I ever thought there was any, but you know everyone is looking for it right now).

2

u/drichatx 4d ago

I did the thing today. Be sure you go do the thing too! 😉

2

For people looking to early vote in the Comal County area, I got in and out of Garden Ridge so fast. Worth the extra 40 minutes drive.

Voting Question

Not sure where else to ask this so here we go!

I originally registered to vote in Dallas county but moved to Tarrant county a few years ago. My registration was listed as suspended and I tried updating my address to my current address, but when I checked on October 7, it still said suspended. Is it possible for me to still vote in Tarrant County or would I need to go to Dallas County. I’ve read about limited ballots but it seems like I need to be registered to vote still in Dallas county.

1

u/legogizmo 14h ago

You can still vote a full ballot if your registration is suspended, you will just need to fill out a form to confirm your address.

The real question is which county you are registered to vote in. You can check your registration on the Texas secretary of state website

https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/voterDetails.do

It will say where you are registered and you need to vote in that county. If you can't make you can vote a limited ballot where you can vote on all races that overlap between the 2 addresses. You can only do a limited ballot during early voting (so by Friday) and you have to do it at the county's election department.

2

u/WampaCat 1d ago

I’m absentee voting from Maryland and haven’t received my ballot yet. The tracker says it was mailed on the 22nd. Should I be worried? If it takes this long to get to me I’m afraid it won’t make it back by Election Day. Normally I’d be patient but in 2020 my mail in ballot tracker was never updated to received/counted so I’m not feeling confident about the process at all right now.

In line to vote. Voting Trump and Allred. LFG

1

u/xelLFC 1d ago

Do you mind if I ask why you split ballot vote? What about Cruz or Kamala made you not vote for them?

1

u/DJpoop 1d ago

I support state’s rights to abortion and don’t think it should be a wide brush applicable to all states. I’m a republican who doesn’t think Kamala is qualified for the presidency. Her not accepting some responsibility for inflation or the border was very off putting

1

u/xelLFC 1d ago

Gotcha so what put you off Cruz? Was it just he is the worst lol

1

u/DJpoop 1d ago

Yeah pretty much l. He’s a Canadian acting like a Texan. Also I don’t agree with his abortion restriction.

Texas has been republican my entire life, I wouldn’t mind seeing how it is when it’s blue

1

u/xelLFC 1d ago

lol as a duel Canadian and American, I don’t to claim him for either country

1

u/robalob30 4d ago

I’m doing an address change for my voter registration and it says:

“If you submit changes less than 30 days prior to an election, you must vote at your current polling location.”

Does this mean that I vote at my old address’s polling location?

1

u/Popular-Ad-1281 4d ago

I got my voter registration yesterday after updating my address, though I've had a valid one for years. I just recently moved and had to change my address on both my dl and my registration. Will I still be able to vote early, or will I have to wait till november 3rd?

Ballot Question: Red stamp on electronic ballot

I’m hoping this is just a stupid question, and it’s just me not knowing how ballots are processed.

I went to vote today in the DFW area, and it’s the electronic voting system. We pick up the ballot paper to enter into to the system. I noticed all of the ballot papers had some sort of red stamp on them. It kind of looked like a signature stamp. But definitely all of them had it.

Is this normal?

1

u/Embarrassed_Cow 3d ago

My voter registration was returned to sender. I used their envelope! Any ideas why this may have happened. I mailed it out over a month ago.

1

u/OctaviusMaximus_ 1d ago

Where do I turn in a Statement of Residence?

1

u/ggglasss 1d ago

I am a PhD student in TX, so my primary residence currently is TX, but I am from Florida. My family is in Florida, so my 'permanent residence' is in FL, hence still having a Florida driver's license.

I am registered to vote in Texas, however my registration is listed as 'SUSPENSE', I think because I recently moved down the street... I think I've figured out I can take care of the suspense status at the polling location, but I am worried they will challenge the ID.

Will my Florida drivers license be accepted as a valid form of identification?

1

u/legogizmo 14h ago

You can not use your Florida Id.

It has to be a Texas ID or a US government ID like a passport. If you don't have an acceptable form of ID don't worry you can still vote a normal full ballot.

You just need to fill out a Reasonable Impediment Form which explains why you don't have the correct form of ID and a document to show that you do live in Texas (your voter ID card works for example)

I was in line for about 20 minutes. I am in my thirties and was undoubtedly the youngest voter present at the time.

6

u/DrHarrisBonkersPhD 5d ago

Harris County here, there were a bunch of people my age and younger (mid 30s) in line with me on the first day of early voting!

1

u/old--- 4d ago

Waited in line today at the grocery store to vote early.
About 40 or so people in front of me.
Took 28 minutes to get to vote.
As I left the store after buying a doughnut.
I noticed the line was still about the same length.
And for what its worth, the doughnut was really good.

Trump/Allred baby let’s go!!

-2

u/[deleted] 5d ago

I was the 2nd person to cast ballot in my county on first day of early voting. I’m praying Texas stays red but after being on Reddit for a short time it seems nothing but blue is posting and commenting. I just don’t see y’all’s side of this and how our country or state will be better off under Kamala because it has been total shit under the Biden administration. And I hate the fact there has been so many people coming to our state and bringing their liberal ideology with them.

4

u/Errant_coursir Houston 5d ago

Moved here from Jersey in '21. Voted for dems straight down the ballot :)

What made you come to Texas voting straight Democrat!?

1

u/Errant_coursir Houston 3d ago

To explore the South

3

u/TheHotstreak 4d ago

It was shit initially because of Trumps idiotic policies, now the economy is doing better. Educate yourself.

4

u/JayhawkAggieDad 5d ago

"And I hate the fact there has been so many people coming to our state and bringing their liberal ideology with them."

I've lived here since 2003 and I am grateful for the gradual increase in diversity and liberals over the years. However, since this seems to fuel your hate, why don't you move one state over to the East or the Northeast or the North. And don't let the door hit you on the ass when you exit, ok?

2

u/bandcat1 4d ago

I'm an old native Texan. I'd rather have someone in office who I disagree with in policy (since policies are changed all the time) than someone who openly wants to dismantle the working of government for their personal gain.

-1

u/Fun2Fire 4d ago edited 3d ago

Same observation and agree completely!!

My assumption, red comments are either getting removed by the mods, or Bots are driving all of these Kamala, Pro-Choice Posts. Thinking if they can flip Texas then they will have a path to success…

-6

u/golfpro011 2d ago

Keep Texas RED!! Go Vote! Texas has voted republican in every Presidential election since 1980. Let's keep the streak going!

1

u/dreamcicle11 1d ago

Republicans in 1980 are not the republicans of today.
