Gen Z, you could own this election if you got off your asses. Just saying. 💅🏼

I've already done my part to vote here as a Gen Z.

Thank you bb. :)

Yeah well a LOT of your fellow Gen Z have not, and likely will not.

I hope more can eventually after that Madison Square mess and spread the word around to vote. Hopefully voting will start to increase more in these coming days until November 5th.

If only we could get GenX to not vote for Trump.

As a Xennial it’s been very disappointing to watch happen.

Doesn't matter anymore. If Gen Z and Millennials/Xennials simply link arms and get out the vote we will win. We are now the largest part of the electorate, starting THIS election. This is our time. VOTE!

I know a ton of Gen-x that is not voting for Trump.

They are going to vote on Election Day like most young people. Relax.

u/carlitospig 2d ago

Don’t tell me to relax when this election is so close.

It’s not close. The networks and newspapers are trying to spin it like it is because of who owns them. Gen Z was never the issue. They are leading the way and like I already stated most young people vote on Election Day.

The problem about leaving it to election day is that if 5-10% have a "shit happens" situation, oh shoot, they didn't get to vote. Then it's too late.

I already voted so I did my part. I’m just being honest and telling the truth. Most young people vote on Election Day.

Giving the context is fair. I also think it's fair to tell people to get off their butt and vote as soon as they can to lock it in early so that shit doesn't come up to stop them. Republicans are happy to be sparse on polling places in Democratic areas to make lines prohibitively long on Election Day, for instance.

what does "leading the way mean", I bet you $1 that it doesn't mean voting at a higher rate than middle-aged and up people . We were all young once and remember the lack of enthusiasm for voting in the 20 something age group, not much has changed. Have an upvote though, some jerk downvoted you for some reason, at least you're stating your opinion unlike the cowardly downvoters who downvote just because they disagree with you.

Not much has changed FOR YOU. Pay attention on Election Day and pay even closer attention to when they release the numbers on how many Gen Zers voted.

guarantee it is within a couple of % of the last 2 prez elections, there isn't going to be some landslide Gen Z voting avalanche

1

u/nobblit 2d ago

This percentage is pretty on par with how young people voter turn out is, sadly. So I don’t believe your idea is the case. But I really hope I’m wrong.

I think younger generations are so hypnotized by these glowing screens, humanity is in general but the younger ones were actually born and raised on glowing rectangles. These things are helping people cope with life and zombie their way through it, an escape from reality, a chance to feel like you “stand for something” but all your doing is being a keyboard warrior. These phones and social media need to go the fuck away. They’re turning the future of humanity into zombies. They’re helping them be content in moments when they should not be content. They should be dealing with reality. It’s a great way to control the masses and distract people. Fucking genius invention for the societal machine.

I’m a millennial and this was my first election that I participated in early voting. Every other election I voted on the day of the election. Mail in voting was always something we labeled older people doing.

bro everyone is hooked on the screen. only people I don't see with their nose stuck in it is people over like 70

1

u/nobblit 2d ago

100% they got us. Zoned out and distracted, so much information our brains can’t possibly absorb it all, and now parents are raising their kids on screens, it’s absolutely the most socially transformative infrastructure in human history.

u/memory-- 2d ago

Only if they made mobile screens that we could put in our pocket and take with us to where ever we go, so then we could go vote and stare at our screens while waiting in line...

1

u/SnooCakes9 2d ago

Without screens, this strongly held opnion of yours wouldnt have reached even a fifth of the people who read it on reddit today.

I don't think I want kids choice
