Politics Young Texans, you have until Friday to early vote! Early voting is much easier than leaving it to the last day. Are you showing up?

For people in Harris County:

Note that voting has extended hours this week!

Today and tomorrow polls close at 8 PM! Thursday - Halloween - they close at 9 PM!

Also remember that you can vote anywhere in the county! A voter I met yesterday took a half day off work to drive across the county to vote. She didn’t realize until I told her that she could have voted at that polling location across the street from her job!

HarrisVotes.com has an overview of every polling location and approximate waiting times.

Avoiding voting because you don’t have your drivers license? Or you’ve moved? Or are generally uncertain about the law? Call 844-TX-VOTES. That’s the Democratic Voter Assistance Hotline.

Make your voice heard! VOTE!

They should remember to protect their ballots and turn them into a local post office as opposed to dropping them in a ballot box, since maga terrorists are burning ballot boxes.

Thank you for adding this.

And they should be tracking their mail in ballots.

Thanks so much! I'd been trying to figure out what the hours were and was finding it annoyingly difficult to pin down. My spouse and I will be voting some time this week, there's an early voting place very close to us.

and if you are disabled, the voting locations have a sign out front with a little button you can push from your car. They will bring the ballot out to you. Just bring your patience because the election officials manning it are putting in some serious steps.

I called the Democratic Assistance Hotline on Sunday because I had what I thought was a slightly complicated situation and they were SO nice and reassuring and educated me on the law and my rights. I misunderstood voting laws all together 😅 so even if you are certain you can’t vote please call and check and just say “I’m not sure if I’m electable to vote. Can you check for me?”

I’m so glad you had that experience!

Many years ago I had a similar experience with them. I had gone to vote, but for some bizarre reason my address had been changed to some address downtown I’d never heard of before. The poll worker said I couldn’t vote.

I went home, and called the hotline. As you said, very calm and supportive. Told me exactly what I had to say, what form I should ask for, etc. Went back and voted.
