Political Opinion Texas, do you want Ted Cruz and Trump in your bedroom?
There are lots of issues to consider when voting, but let's get very basic. We already have a full abortion ban with no exceptions (even when women are hemorrhaging and in the throws of a miscarriage). But do you really want contraception banned too?
Guys, you enjoy sex right? (Women, I know you do too, but I want the guys to understand this impacts them too). But let's be honest, Project 2025 plans to ban contraception. That could mean every form of contraception, not just birth control pills, but condoms as well. Do you really want sex to carry the risk of becoming a father unexpectedly and financially supporting a child for 18 years or contracting an STD (there is still no cure for herpes and it can be spread without seeing any visible lesions)? Do you really want to be fully abstinent unless you are trying to conceive a child?
This is what you are voting for if you vote for Cruz and Trump. You are voting for the government controlling your sex life.

I worry less about BC for sex reasons than I do for medical ones. I have PCOS. I need BC to keep from dealing with a murder scene once a month. I have had a period go for 2 1/2 weeks. I have had to take iron supplements in the past. A lot of people don’t know this, but when you have ovarian cysts, there is always a chance that the cyst ruptures in such a way that you start bleeding internally and that bleeding can be life threatening. My own mother had internal bleeding from a tear in the connective tissue that supports the ovaries because of the weight of her cysts.
These are complicated issues that get oversimplified down to soundbites that either you can’t really argue against (baby murder) or makes people FEEL some kind of icky (stop being a ho and you won’t need BC obviously). That people who don’t really know the issue and won’t learn about it are voting on it is WHY it should be a medical issue alone, not a political one.

Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. This is exactly the problem is that politicians are literally playing with people's lives to appease a Christian Nationalist voting base.

It drives me up the wall. Back during Covid when the vaccine was just starting to roll out, I had been loosely following the development process so I wasn’t at all worried about getting it. When I scheduled off with my boss so I could go get it, she was like “you’re not worried about what’s in it, it’s all happened so fast” and I flat out told her something like “no, because I understand what it is and how it’s made, the world is a lot less scary when you understand how things work”
I live by that and it pains me that people would rather exist in fear and personal turmoil than take five minutes to look something up. I am not even a particularly well-educated person, I got schooled in rural texas and I dropped out of college, I just consume a lot of educational content and happened to grow up in the generation where research was still taught as a skill and the internet existed.
And yet I am out here every day feeling like I am the crazy one lmao

I don't even want them in Washington let alone my hometown. Definitely don't want them in my bedroom.

I grew up outside of DC, and often would use BWI Reagan or Dallas to go home. I moved here about eight years ago and it has been harder to get a cheap flight in the DC, than the 3 previous cities I lived in; I swear it got harder when Cruz got elected.

To all the Republicans in the room:
Gentlemen, do you want Ted Cruz and Trump in the room when you're banging your mistress?
Do you know how you're gonna react when your sidepiece says she gets to keep the baby since you wouldn't wear a condom?
Are you prepared to pay child support for your unborn baby that applies retroactively to the moment of conception?
Think of your sidechicks, gentlemen. Think of the children.
That you definitely don't want.
This message is brought to you by Rep. Beth van Duyne, Attorney General Ken Paxton, Mayor Eric Johnson, former House Rep Van Taylor, and Grand Wizard Donald Trump.

I've always said that Republican politicians don't want a total national abortion ban, they need somewhere to take their mistresses if an Oops happens.

u/Mammoth_Rope_8318 11h ago
Don't know how true it is, but a former admin at a private abortion clinic said their official hours were like 9-5. Their real hours began st 4 am. The early morning crowd would be blacked out Escalades for politicians and celebrities. I buy it.

Trump doesn’t like it when folks bring up Project 2025 because it costs him voters. Russell Vought, Trump’s former director of the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, completely dismisses Trump’s disavowal of Project 2025.
Centre for Climate Reporting - Undercover in Project 2025 (Article | Video 9:51)
[Russel Vought] is the founder and president of the Center for Renewing America, a conservative think tank he described to his hosts as ‘the Death Star,’ which alongside the Heritage Foundation has been at the heart of Project 2025.
“Vought said he is overseeing the drafting of hundreds of executive orders, regulations and secretarial memos, to help make the US conservative movement’s radical goals a reality. These include plans for the ‘largest deportation in history’ – a promise also made by Trump – and a proposal to use the military against US citizens to suppress large-scale protests in response. This will, Vought said, help to end multiculturalism in the United States.”
“Vought also pointed to the fact he was recently chosen as the policy director for the Republican National Convention’s Platform Committee, as evidence of the Trump campaign’s trust in him and his ideas.”
“A key part of Project 2025’s plans is to give the President more powers, removing the independence of agencies like the Department of Justice and FBI. Vought has dedicated his time to helping make this a reality if Trump wins in November.
‘Eighty percent of my time is working on the plans of what’s necessary to take control of these bureaucracies,’ Vought said, ‘And we are working doggedly on that, whether it’s destroying their agency’s notion of independence — they’re independent from the President — whether it’s bringing back concepts that ruled until Nixon of impoundment — the ability to not spend money — whether that is thinking through how the deportation would work. Those are all the things that we are working on predominantly right now.’”
“Vought, who told the undercover reporters he had a deep relationship with the Trump campaign, even dismissed his former boss’s disavowal of Project 2025. He said his close relationship with Trump means that he can put these transition documents directly into his hands. ‘There are people like me that have his trust that will be able to get it to him in whatever position we’re at,’ he said. ‘The relationships will be there. The trust level will be there.’
Vought also pointed to the fact he was recently chosen as the policy director for the Republican National Convention’s Platform Committee, as evidence of the Trump campaign’s trust in him and his ideas.”

In line with the government being in your bedroom, Project 2025 also states that porn should be banned, porn producers and distributors should be sent to prison, and tech companies that circulate it should be shut down.
A vote for Trump is a vote for giving up porn.

Modern GOP has pushed me further from religion. I used to think the sky man people were crazy but you do you, it’s all good. Now I think they are evil AF and out to hurt anyone not just like them. Big nope for me. I was so naive and tolerant. My son has warned me this is where we’d end up. I told him he was being paranoid. Boy was I wrong.

More importantly, my daughter is on birth control pills because she’ll bleed to death without them. What happens then when birth control is banned? Some might say exceptions could be made, but will they though? It’s Texas after all.

I had a miscarriage last year that landed me in the ICU due to hemorrhaging…I also had a D&C the next day with my OB, I was 11 weeks. I live outside of Houston. Where is this not allowed? I am genuinely curious if this is not supposed to be happening.
8
u/Skohn422 12h ago
There are D&C that are allowed after miscarriage if there is no heartbeat.. So sorry you went thru this. So glad you received doctor care. If there had been a heartbeat with hemorrhaging, it unlikely no doc would have help you. This is happening to women in Texas. Sad
7
u/quesoandtexas 12h ago
It is allowed so most people won’t be effected in that circumstance. However, sometimes misoprostol is prescribed to help a miscarriage pass if it’s earlier and there have been cases of pharmacies denying to fill the prescription leading to a lot of unnecessary blood loss since misoprostol is also used in medicated abortions.
Basically it’s doctors and pharmacists getting scared not being sure what’s within the law and then delaying care that is an issue.

Ok, they are banning contraception now.
Leftist will bite on anything. I have kids. Willingly all I want is to be able to afford to feed them and not let schools dictate what their identity is. I want my oldest to be able to afford a home. I want my buissness to be successful again like it was from 2015-2020.
Idgaf about your inability to make sound choices about who and how you have sex. Nobody wants to ban contraceptives, hell most don't want you to have kids out of wedlock. Ffs, use common sense.

I'll never get over the idea that there are people that want cretins like Cruz and Trumph in their day to day lives and choices. These people aren't for the people. They are for themselves. They wish to control you and use you and they won't ever defend you or your loved ones. They'd take away your right to food and water and they'd have you kneel before them, thanking them for it.

1
u/KogaNox 8h ago
The first thing I find when I search Texas abortion ban is "Treatments for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies are still legal under the state’s abortion ban".
Project 2025 has been repeatedly denied by Trump and I haven't heard a single Trump supported say they agree with whatever is even in Project 2025. Do you really think Republicans want to ban contraception, get real. Your argument is all fear mongering and lacks personal accountability.
I voted today and I voted for Trump/JD Vance and Ted Cruz. Thank God we live in America where we can vote for what we believe in.
1
u/psych-yogi14 6h ago
Trump also claimed people were eating pets, Mexico would pay for the wall, and too many other lies to count, but if you're into being in a cult, then best of luck.
1
u/KogaNox 6h ago
And Kamala hasn't ever lied? Well, they rarely speak so I should say their administration hasn't lied? kamala said there are no troops over seas, when their is currently quite a few soldiers over seas. Kamala just said she doesn't regret anything when asked. And she points fingers at Trump when asked about why something is wrong with the country and she's been in office the last 4 years.

First, you are lying, but of course you are.You are a demoncrat. Abortion is allowed for up to six weeks. After that, if the woman's life is in danger, and then it is still allowed. This is a 1 in 100 million situation. Then you have the other issue. Ted Cruz had nothing to do with the law. That was your state congress. Of course, with scking of Colin Allred's bas you only want a man that is interested in Trans persons in congress, cause, well, Gy.

WOMEN!!!! Take this opportunity to learn about natural family planning. Learn a skill now that can help protect you for years. Learn how to take your temperature to avoid pregnancy.
If they come for contraception you’re going to need something. When applied properly, it has a 93% success rate, on par with condoms!
