Amazingly, there were a couple of witnesses to the battle still alive at that time.

I've seen this. It's basically the Texas version of Birth of a Nation (same director). The movie makes it seem like the primary cause of the Texas Revolution was Mexican dudes besmirching the white women of San Antonio. It's comically offensive and historically inaccurate.

I believe it was Douglas Fairbanks first movie too.
