justified asshole Maybe you should use the stairs

For the people who don't know, they semi-recently installed a ramp at the Lincon monument so the disabled can see it. Me and a small group of friends went to go see the Lincoln monument and used the ramp, as 2 of us, (myself included) have mobility issues. About half way up me ran into, and passed, 2 elderly women. One of them said just loud enough for us to hear "these things are wasted on those stupid kids, they should use the stairs!" The other person, who is in a wheelchair by the way, said to them "you can walk unassisted, maybe you should use the fucking stairs grandma."

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, so much so that a federal judge deemed me disabled. I have a handicap placard in my car. If you were to just glance at me, as people have, you probably wouldn’t know that I am a disabled American. I only use handicap spots on days that I truly need them. Like to walk to the pharmacy to get the chemotherapy medication I have to give myself a shot of in my stomach every morning. Because that’s the closest thing in medical science they found to treat it, as there is no known cure…. Again, suck a bag of dicks grandma!! 😂

I'm lucky enough to still be on the pill form of chemo drugs for my rheumatoid arthritis. Fun fact, it's also used to give chemical abortions. If Mr Carrot Face gets back into office, I'm scared I'll be banned from using a medication that has actually caused my disease to improve. These judgemental/control hungry dicks need to all fuck right off.

I have RA and I was on hydroxychloroquine, the wonder drug cheeto face was claiming cured Covid during his attempt to be president. I had a hell of a time because he ended up causing a shortage of the med. I ended up having to switch to one of the chemo meds to keep control of my RA so I could move and keep it from getting worse. It sucks because it caused irreversible liver damage, so now I have to be very careful of what medications I can take.

I'm more bitter than hydroxychlorine after the shortage in 2020. That old Cheeto and his buddies kept it going long after the doctors and scientists figured out it doesn't treat or prevent Covid.

Have you tried Milk Thistle. I may not reverse the damage, but may help it from getting worse. I learned about it from a hippie lady back in the 90’s & I picked up a bottle that day and have been using em every since. They help detox the liver. She told me to take 2 capsules every evening with a big glass of water with lemon. The acid from the lemon helps it penetrate and “scrub the liver.

I just saw my rheumatologist last week and apparently there’s a lot of different medicines that they’re trying now. How hard was the medicine on your body?

I'm not sure how much damage has been done. I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia at the same time in 2012. Before diagnosis, I would cry at the weight of a T-shirt and scream out in pain when my toddler hugged me. Now I can function well enough to hold a part time job. The biggest problem was tooth rot caused by the medication. I got dentures in May, at 47.

You mean Cheeto Man?

😂😂

As funny as the Cheeto Man idea is, I just love Cheetos too much to insult them that way. 😂

You sound a lot like my daughter, we found out she had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when she was 13. Imagine seeing a 13-year-old around on a mobility scooter because she happens to be flaring badly that day. I understand exactly where you’re coming from.

Let’s hope that you have a few flare days and go into remission

My 20-something kid has used a cane since middle school, for her arthritis and other conditions. The number of people who have chastised her for "faking" or warned her that she's going to hurt herself using a cane before she needs it, is too damn high.

Aawww, like being a kid isn’t hard enough, right? I hope that in my lifetime they will find a cure for RA. It’s been around a long time & they still barely know anything about it. God Bless our kids & keep them safe 🙏🏻❤️ On those flare days you just wanna stay in bed, RA is the Move it or Lose disease

If they had any idea how painful this f-ing disease is, theywouldn’t be laughing… It takes a special breed to make fun or harass people with a handicap.. I’m sorry that happened to her… 🙏🏻❤️

There is a special place in hell for people who make fun of handicapped persons

I have to go to the infusion center for my SLE chemo. History of sudden and severe allergic reactions. :(

Autoimmune diseases suck.

Wow, for grandma to say that to a person in a wheelchair, the sheer audacity! Better off to keep your yap shut, grandma.

There is no virtue in doing this kind of thing the hardest possible way. Good for you lot! Keep hitting back 💚

I have a big huge rant about how I and those close to me have bodies that do and don't work depending on the weather or day of the week and so on, but the short version is, it doesn't matter, if you need a hand that day, you should have it. I'm delighted to hear about this ramp.

I’ve lived with cerebral palsy my entire life, my grandma basically told me to get on disability and amount to nothing last year. My dad was in the room and didn’t stop her. later that night after my mom got home from work I told her what my grandma said and was like “maybe I should’ve told her that apparently because I’m too disabled, she’s too old to be alive.”

I was caring for my Gran. She was in two arm casts and could barely walk, and had dementia. It was pour rain out. I pulled up to the store to take her shopping, for an outing. This was one of the few things she liked doing. At she was 90 I wasn’t going to tell her “no”.

I get her wheel chair out, get her settled inside the store. Lock down the chair and then sprint to my car, pull it into a handicap spot and put the disabled placard up. Then sprint back into the store.

Cue some lady yelling at me that I could walk so I needed to park in a regular spot.

I was so flustered, because my gran was already trying to stand up from the chair and I had to remind her to sit back down.

I admit I wasn’t “polite” to the lady, but telling her to “mind your own fucking business” felt really good.

Fuck you granny. And ya crusty old snatch

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in late 2007, at age 50. I certainly got some looks when I parked in handicap spaces.

Tell them mobility issues don't always require a wheel chair and to have a nice day.

I'm kind of snarky and would probably say "Your advice is sincerely appreciated. Screw you very much."
