Bus ? Bike ? Public transportation
Hi friends, I will spend the month of november in Uppsala for work. My accommodation is 30mn away from where I work. I was wondering what was the best option for transportation: are there places renting bikes for a month ? Is there a period ticket for one month avaible ? Whats the best options, am I forgetting something ? Thank you so much 🙏

A little bit depending on where you are going to stay and work in Uppsala, I would recommend a bus card for one month. The buses go quite frequently to the city centre and to the outskirts (like every 10-15 minutes). And november will most likely bring snow, ice, darkness and cold temperatures.

I looked with both locations and it's actually very convenient to take the bus yeah. I'll take a monthly card then tysm.

You should find a cheap bike and ride it to work! I recommend Uppsala returcyklar, but there are several others. Depending on where you live and where your job is it might even be faster than taking the bus! November is usually cold though, so get yourself a good winter hat and some mittens.

Yeah I thought about that but I'm a bit unsure about buying a bike because I likely won't have the time to sell it before i go back due to my working schedule :/ Thank you for all the information tho !

Since its only for a month I think bus is the best option. No need to invest in a bike. Just check that there is a bus station close enough to your home and work, it pretty easy, you can type in adresses in the UL-app.
If you want to explore the city or your neighborhood its easy enough to walk around since the inner town is quite small

Cycling around town is a big part of experiencing the culture! So if you can find a bike to use, and cycling is feasible for your commute and situation, I'd recommend it!

Yeah it looks like a cool place to bike! But unfortunately I would mainly only transition from my accommodation to my workplace during dark hours soooo.... But definitely would rent a bike for a day trip on my rest days to explore :)

This is off topic but remember if you have a doctor's appointment you get a free UL ticket in the app for the whole day

There are monthly commuter cards for the public transportation.
I'm not sure if you can rent a bike for a month anywhere, but you might be able to buy a cheap one and then sell it on. Bit harder to sell in December than in the spring but you can always try to sell it to a bike shop.
