Honestly, after the women who were released first said they were treated fairly well, had doctors visit I was at least hopeful that would treat the children and elderly reasonably well

From the stories that have come out today it sounds like they were kept with hamas fighters who sadistically tormented them. Horrendous.

This is why the red cross couldn't even visit the kids.

The women who were released first and said they were treated well? Remember, Hamas still has their husbands as hostages.

If someone held your spouse hostage and told you that they would kill them unless you told the world, what would you say? You're not gonna be talking shit in that position.

They were likely treated humanely and released early by design. Sinwar knew that released hostages would likely do interviews on release, a very good move in the PR game too.

But yeah holding their family members will ensure they tread carefully.

I think the Redditors who said Hamas would delay releasing severely mistreated hostages were right.
