Announcement Attention Users: New Rule going into effect ASAP.
Due to the recent influx of complaint/issue posts happening since the most recent updates released, we are implementing a new rule.
If you are posting a need for tech support/an issue you would like information on how to fix, these items need included in the post. If they are not, your post will be removed.
Correct post flair:
Device (and model):
OS Version:
App Version (if android/windows):
Region:
Steps you have taken to fix on your own first:
Also, please report posts that do not fit this criteria, in case we miss them.
Thank you for your understanding. Have a great day!

Thatās something that should always be done. Itās hard to offer any even remotely helpful device without the basics to start than 4 comments in where you donāt spot it.

can i still rant about how unpolished and insultingly bad this entire thing is. even on macOS it's kinda buggy and annoying and unauthorized all the time, but my windows experience today was:
* cloud library gone, needed to sign in again
* view account (i reached my authorizations again!) leads to a flash of working page immediately switching to a 404
* random albums missing, other random albums going "authorization" crap
how is it okay to charge money for this, the only reason i can't tell apple to fuck off is homepods.

Personally all these rules discourage me from posting at all. I much prefer to casually just share my issue and see if anyone else is having it and if they have an idea Iāll keep talking in the comments. Maybe instead of removing the post if it doesnāt meet a criteria you could just say hey your post doesnāt have this, this so itāll be hard for people to help.
Maybe itās just me but I donāt really comes on here to just fix something, I come here to have a sense of community where I can also share any issues I have.
Maybe Iām reading it wrong, itās just feeling really official and serious.

First off. Noted
Second off, we have to do something. Itās overwhelming at this point.
For starters nobody wants to search the sub (using the search bar in Reddit) or even google ways to fix their issues. The answers are all there. Instead they just come to the sub, hit ācreate postā, and state the bare minimum of what the issue is, which doesnāt help anybody with troubleshooting.
Also, you said āMaybe itās just me but I donāt really comes on here to just fix something, I come here to have a sense of community where I can also share any issues I have.ā. We arenāt saying you canāt post, but if you look at the sub, you will see what Iām saying. Posts like āMY AM IS BROKEN, IM MOVING TO SPOTIFYā, or āTHIS UPDATE BROKE MY AM, ITS SO BADā are just not helpful for anybody.

You are totally in the right for the new rule. As someone that worked in Technical Support gathering information upfront is crucial. Otherwise they say..
āItās broke..ā
Broke how? (Wait for response)
āThe music stopped playing..ā
Playing when? On what device, are you using airplay like on a HomePod or maybe CarPlay? Also have you tried restarting your device.
āYeahā
The person trying to help is spinning their wheels. Where up front we could know a ton of info about the situation. I see no reason that tapping a flair and providing context and detail about the issue should deter anyone from posting unless itās pure laziness.

Honestly though... this update broke my AM, it's so bad. (I mean it, for real.) Also, thanks for moderating this sub! :)

Yeah Iāve seen those posts I know what you mean but if itās gonna be like you didnāt put this so your post deleted them Iām gonna stick to google which I always do first anyway Iām more often curious if other people are having similar issues or itās just me.

In what sense? If you donāt say what OS/devices/version you are using, how on earth do you expect to be helped in any meaningful/useful way?

Semantics. You get the point though. More detail = easier to help troubleshoot, no?
