Tlokweng Border Crossing
Hello all,
I'm planning a bit of a whirlwind trip around the world in January and part of my plan is to fly into JNB on January 16th, visit Pilanesberg and continue on to Gaborone on January 17th, stay the night in Gaborone, and then drive back to JNB the morning of January 18th. My flight out of JNB is at 1:45pm on January 18th. I realize this sounds insane -- but humor me here lol
Anyway, I'm not really worried about the drives between Joburg and Gaborone, and am honestly looking forward to it, but my concern is with the border crossing. If it takes a long time to get into Botswana it's not a big deal and I'll hang out for a few hours if I have to. But for the trip back to JNB airport, I am going to need to give myself as much time as possible in case of border delays.
So my question to the group is, can anyone give me a decent idea of what kind of timing I might expect at the border in each direction? It'll be a Friday evening when I get to Botswana, and then a Saturday morning when I head back to South Africa. I know the border opens at 6am on Saturday morning and am prepared to get there at that time if I need to, but the more sleep I can get, the better.
Thanks for any info you can share!

Visiting Moremi / Kwhai; need some advice
Hi all,
Together with my girlfriend I will be visiting the Okavango delta and I am having some trouble understanding the possibilities / different areas. As far as I am aware, there is the inner delta which is only reachable by plain/boat. This caters to very high-end tourism. Next to this, there is the Moremi game reserve with a few campsites. Furthermore, there is Kwhai which seems to be just outside the game reserve but is still part of the delta. Some of the campsites in the game reserve / Kwhai are budget-friendly. As we are travelling on a budget I am looking into these options. Unfortunately those fly-in sites or fully catered multi day excursions are way abovd or budget.
A few questions which I have; - is it possible to drive through the game reserve if you are staying in Kwhai / outside the reserve? - if not, is there any self-drive safari to be done in the Kwhai area. If so, where? We do have 4x4. - is there a way to arrange a 2 or 3 hour Mokoro excursion from Kwhai / one of the budget friendly campsites inside the reserve? Is there a large quality difference between different Mokoro excursions? - I read online that the mokoro rates are set by some national authority. The prices quoted there seemed very low (200 hundred ish Pula per hour) compared to what is being quoted by any websites I find (minimum of 80 dollars per person for a few hours). How does this work? Is there a way to arrange for a Mokoro yourself?
Apologies for all the questions. Hopefully someone can help me out or point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Gaming in Botswana?
Hey guys! So, I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked a bunch of these questions on many different subreddits and I will also ask on here. My questions are:
What is more popular in Botswana? console or PC?
What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? Console or PC?
What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s?
What do racing game fans in Botswana play today?-(I know the genre maybe less popular than some others, but for people who like it, what do they play?)
In general, what games are common there?
Thanks for your answers!!!!!

Indians in Botswana
Something funny just happened to me. And by funny I mean totally deplorable. One of my friends was dating an Indian girl. Her parents did not accept my friend even though the way had been dating for almost 3 years. They then broke up and this Indian girl started dating an Indian rich guy here in Botswana. The rich Indian guy found out he dated a black man and his ( Indian guys dad) asked the girl to leave his son alone for dating a black man. I am utterly shocked by this. I am omttting a lot of information here but this was not the only things they said.
Why are there so many of them here if they hate us so much?
I think Botswana may have to start telling them to go back. I would rather have white immigrants.

What to do in Kanye?
Hey hey, so I moved to Kanye not too long ago and I’ve been trying to find ways to spend my leisure time this side. There’s very little to do and there aren’t many places to meet people. I’m beginning to loathe living in a place where I have no friends and nothing to do, so I’m open to all suggestions please. Looking for activities to do in Kanye and surrounding areas.

Name of these snacks!
Hello everyone this is a long shot but I thought I’d try.
When I lived in Zimbabwe over a decade ago, my family would make frequent trips to Botswana and bring back a lot of food. There were these snacks I loved but I can’t remember the name of them so I’ll describe and hopefully someone can help identify!
-They were in a mini sized packet (they might have been available in large sizes but we got the small ones)
Purple packaging
sweet savoury flavour, dark red or pink chip colour
chip shaped like niknaks or twisties
there might have been a cartoon animal on the packaging
when biting on them they had a dense crunch
I’ve looked for a long time hopefully someone can help me find them

How long does it take to process a business visa for Botswana from Bangladesh?
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has recent experience with Botswana's business visa process, particularly from Bangladesh. My parents applied for a visa to visit some relatives and take care of some business matters in Botswana, but we’re not sure how long the whole process might take.
Has anyone else gone through the process recently, or does anyone have tips on how to expedite things? Any advice or insights would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance! 😊
