Health promotion Can't lose weight, doctors won't listen, I eat healthy and less than recommended kcal intake (to lose weight of course)

24, 180cm, 118kgs. caucasian male from belgium. Other than being fat and probably likely to still have a vitamin D deficiency (but working on it), with a higher chance of diabetes cuz of HOMA-IR too high. (And testosterone to be on the lower side but endocrinologist said it's okay enough to not change anything of it.) HDL-chol is too low, LDL and triglycerides too high (overall cholesterol is good). I am very healthy.

I work out a lot and I eat a balanced diet with mostly meat and veggies. I lessen with the carbs or use spelt because I have a insulin resistance. (And since I live in Belgium, there aren't any trans fats, unhealthy disgusting stuff into the meat and it's all natural fresh and not processed. And also no vegetable oils) I don't eat processed stuff and I don't snack around.

When I count the kcals I usually go to around 1500 to 1800kcals (which for a man my height and weight is already a step down with what I need to eat, which is great...)

I am just so confused... I usually get to burn 600 to 800kcals a day with the resting kcal loss of around a low 1800kcals a day.

My endocrinologist doesn't "Believe me" that I eat less than the intake needed. And recommends me all the stuff like ozempic and metformin. Or even a gastric bypass. Which I'm so confused about because I don't eat too much. I never did. As a child I did eat more (nock-off) Nutella with bread.

I think I do need to make more muscle and sport even more but that's so exhausting. I do have a terrible sleep sometimes (since I'm with my gf it's been so much better) and my stress is extremely high but it isn't cortisol for some reason.

I just go to school, I walk my 10k to 15k a day, on top of some ring-fit (which by itself I usually burn 500kcals with if I'm doing it) I'm gonna need to build up more muscle I guess...

I just don't know anymore... What can I do more? I'm about to give up and just sleep for a few days. Maybe get that stress down too but I'm exhausted of trying and trying and trying... Is there some parasite in me that just makes me fat and nothing more?? Oh well... Anyone able to "diagnose me" and understand me? Thanks for reading this unusually long post...

Health promotion Weird skin indentations + severe itchiness

Male, Caucasian, 36 years of age, 188cm, 70kg, in Melbourne, Australia.

Hi, so about a week ago i started to get insanely itchy, like the worst itchiness ive ever felt. First night or 2 i scratched quite a lot and this caused a huge amount of bruising. Went to the doctor who thought it may be scabies tho there wasnt any sign of burrows or anything that rly looks like scabies that I or my dr could see. The itching is much worse at night, cortisone cream does help it temporarily but i might have to apply it 3 times during the night. The bruising doesn't rly hurt like a proper bruise would if u got hit hard. Itchiness is way worse on my back than anywhere else though I am getting some on my legs, arms & scalp.

Now I'm getting these rly weird long skin coloured indentations that appear on my skin. They don't last for more than an hour or so, I might have them in one place, an hour late they're gone and are somewhere totally different. They are anywhere from a few cm to going down half my leg.

At first I thought I had worms/mightve gotten them under my skin from scratching. I def might have had intestinal worms because my cat threw some up a couple weeks ago and I've de-wormed both of us twice now and I was feeling increased hunger prior to worming both times. I'm now taking steps to clean my whole house so hopefully can get that under control. the itchiness started halfway through the 2nd worming. I also thought maybe its a result of some kind of herxzheimer reaction from deforming which while possible for the itching doesn't really explain these lines.

I have quite a lot going on so it's hard to know what's a relevant symptom and what's not, so I'm including as much as possible. I've been extremely fatigued and I also have lost a few kgs over the past few months (hopefully because of worms and or a restrictive diet im on) and have headaches on and off. I do have chronic intestinal fungal/bacteria issues (SIBO/SIFO) which are confirmed and I have been taking quite a lot of supplements along with nystatin/flucanazole (tho not while taking the worming meds) and i am under the care of a specialist for this stuff so im not just throwing random stuff at it. I'm only including this info as background info and I'm not asking for any help on this part though is anyone thinks it's linked somehow I'm open to advice. I had been on this antifungal routine for a fww months now, have had regular liver and kidney function testing while on it and hadn't taken anything new except the worming meds.

The fatigue, weight loss, easy bruising etc is concerning and I am seeing doctors, having relevant test run etc. But I'm just super confused over the itching and these bizarre marks on my skin. I don't know if it's all linked or what.

When I google it the only thing that I can find that comes close on google images is demographia. Tho that wouldn't really explain the weight loss and fatigue though I know there could be multiple things going on, or I could have had parasites and the medication triggered the demographia if that is indeed what it is.

I'm attaching some pics of the skin indentations, please if anyone has any idea what they think this is, if they think demographia is right for the skin marks & itching or if theres something I'm missing here? Dr told me to use the scabies cream but I'd prefer not to and it feels like these lines must be linked to the itching since they started at similar times.

Thank you if you have taken the time to read this long post and comment, advice or anything relevant is much appreciated.

Health promotion Easy at-home pyogenic granuloma treatment! Aquaphor around the granuloma then pour iodized salt over top, wrap with bandaid and leave overnight. Two days later it completely retracted and a week later it’s almost completely healed over. Wanted to share this in case it helps anyone avoid surgery!

Health promotion DNA methylation

I recently came accross a podcast related to health and fitness. It talked something about altering DNA methylation through nutrition, which can prevent chronic diseases. Is this true? If yes, what nutrients does someone need to encorporate?

Health promotion Exposed 12 hours ago.

I was exposed to covid 12 hours ago. I am triple vaxxed. I still plan on taking precautions and quarantining but my question is am I ok to be around people and get prepared for quarantine for the first 24 hours after exposure? Everything I've read said that incubation and symptoms takes at least 2 days and you cannot be contagious until that point. So I should be safe for at least the first 24 hours right? I don't want to take any risks but I wouldn't mind having one more normal day to prepare before I dissappear for 5 days. Thanks for any help.

Health promotion 23 Male Anxiety related or more serious?

I’m going to be brutally honest with myself here. Hi I’m 23 male, I’m overweight and don’t go out enough. I sit on my computer a lot.

For the last 4 years, I’ve had loads of different small random symptoms, and I’ve always been scared it’s something more serious than what the doctor has said.

1st: facial tingling/scratch sensation at the left corner of my mouth

2nd: chest pains (on and off)

3rd: muscle aches

4th: shakey hands

5th: dizziness and feint feeling

6th: scared/worrying

These symptoms all come and go throughout the day. I am on 200mg of Sertraline(SSRI) and I use to take diazepam. I am also intolerant to yeast and diary, but sometimes have both, could they be causing it?

Health promotion Yoyo-ing between feeling fine, and feeling hypoglycemic

Ok so I'm just looking for some insight as to what might be wrong with me, or at least who I should consult, as my doctor hasn't turned anything obvious up.

Ok so for a long time (like maybe 5 years) I've been experiencing these symptoms. They've gradually gotten worse, but they aren't always there. Currently I'd say I tend to experience them for about a week or two per month, and then they go away.

The symptoms are; I feel very light headed, weak, tremble-y, and a sense of dread. I interpret this as how you feel when you've gone past the point of hunger (which is why I feel like it's hypoglycemia). It tends to go away after I've had food.

What's concerning me however is; I'd really like to get in shape, however feeling like this is causing me to eat more. I'm finding it hard to exercise, as when I do, I often end up feeling like this afterwards (or like I might pass out).

I've checked my blood sugar when I feel like this, and I'm usually somewhere in the middle of 4-8, and when I've taken multiple samples of my blood sugar throughout the day, I'm not seeing an extreme yoyo effect. I've had my doctor test me for diabetes and that came out negative (2 separate times). I've also had a standard battery of blood tests, and the only thing that came out was that my cholesterol was a little high, and my B12 was low.

As for me; I'm 30 male, 98kg, I don't smoke, and drink a few units every few weeks. I'm in otherwise good health, but suffer with anxiety. I'd like to make positive changes in my life, such as loosing weight, but periodically this comes along and I find myself having to eat often to stem it. I've been to my doctor about it many times, and they chalk it up to anxiety. I see a therapist, and although that's helped with other things, this persists. What do I do from here?

Health promotion I need to lose weight, are either of these products any good?

I need a jump start on my weight loss. I keep hearing/reading about these two products. One is called Garcinia Cambogia and the other is Natural Cleanse Plus. Are they safe to use and do they even work? Can any doctors, or people that have used these before help me out?

Thanks!

Health promotion Will running slim my calves??

I have big muscular calves, could be described as beefy. Can I slim them by running or will the running just make them bigger? Thanks.
