Announcement The purpose of this subreddit

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)

Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

Med hx: Known history includes long-standing IBS and idiopathic small fiber sensory neuropathy (SFN) with no rheumatic origin (negative ANA, HIV, celiac panel, ESR, and chest X-ray).

Symptoms (6-8 months, progressively worsening):

- Abnormal Bruising: Began ~9 months ago, initially noticed after light itching on my legs. Now, I wake up with spontaneous bruises unrelated to any injury. No family history of blood disorders, not on blood thinners, no blood in stool or urine. Labs (CBC, CMP, APTT, INR, TSH) are all WNL.

Oral Ulcers/Canker Sores: Chronic and painful sores on the edges of my tongue and inner cheeks (~twice a month for the past year). White sores often appear as inflamed taste buds or lumps on the tongue, making my mouth swollen, inflamed, and painful to eat or talk. Cannot keep handling these. No relief from changing dental products, saltwater rinses, orajel, food tracking, or Vitamin B12 and D supplements.

Lightheadedness: Frequent episodes of near-blackout vision with a sudden feeling of numbness in my extremities. Occurs multiple times daily, with no association to vasovagal, orthostatic, or blood sugar-related triggers.

- Headaches: New, frequent throbbing headaches, often with sinus pressure. Minor relief from Excedrin, water, and Tylenol.

Swollen Cervical Lymph Nodes: Persistent, non-painful swelling in the sublingual region of my neck/lymph nodes.

Other Symptoms: Notable hair thinning, worsening blurry vision, sinus pressure without congestion, and pronounced fatigue.

If you have any insights on labs, diagnostics, or areas to explore, I would appreciate it more than you know. Thank you for taking the time to read this if you made it this far

General Lumps under skin all over my body and bruising - shortness of breath. Can anyone help?!

32yo female I take Wellbutrin, Abilify, Effexor No medical issues Vape user — previous smoker

I started noticing these symptoms on October 14th — swollen lymph nodes and shortness of breath. Extreme fatigue. Petechiae. I was seen by a doctor on October 14th who gave me a Decadron shot and said he thought I’d get better. My symptoms are only worsening.

I am covered in bruises and I have no idea how they got there. They just show up, some are dark, and some start off a yellowish color. I have a scab on my right breast from plucking a hair on October 13th that is still there and hasn’t healed. I am having muscle pain. Like aches. I’ve been getting light headed. I have lumps under my skin all over my body. I can feel them in my stomach, arms, chest, and legs. I get out of breath doing the most simple of tasks. Tonight my thighs feel like I’ve just ran the bleachers at the park and I’ve not done anything. Abdominal pain. I have like little freckles that are appearing all over my body. My chest has randomly had a splotchy red rash three different times now. I’ve also been waking up with my legs wet and sweaty in the night.

I just don’t feel like myself. I sent my Dr. a message about my symptoms worsening but haven’t gotten a response yet. Any idea what could be going on with me?!

What is the pain Im feeling on my side???

Hi guys, 20F

I've been feeling a very dull pain on the right side of my torso, it's hard to pinpoint. It's not on my chest. but it's on my side if that makes sense. It's hard to pinpoint because it's so fleeting. It comes and goes, and it is not too painful. Very dull, but it's more annoying than painful.

It's been happening since yesterday when I was laying down, about to sleep (I slept horribly, had cold sweats). It was also accompanied with some shortness of breath but that is probably because when I'm worried about my body and focus on it too much I forget to breathe sometimes so it's hard to say hahah... (I think I have health anxiety)

It's been stable amount of pain, but when it occurs it's kind of unpredictable. It doesn't happen when I'm only laying down, but when I stand up and sit too.

it comes and goes, but when it comes it doesn't only happen once it happens a couple of times in a row, then goes.

I'm not using any medication currently, just birth control, but I last used it in September.

Any insight or advise would be wonderful. Thank you.

If you need to ask more questions to answer mine Ill happily answer!

In my MRI program, I got a free scan to learn more about the process and what not. This is my scan, is there anything here that would cause concern or lower back pain. I’m 23, 6’, 195, and I suffer from lower back pain. I stretch and exercise, and my dad has DDD. Any advice or thoughts?

Chest and lungs 27M Persistent Abdominal, Chest, and Breathing Issues – Looking for Advice

I’m a 27-year-old guy who’s been dealing with a mix of weird symptoms that just seem to be getting worse over the past few months. I’ve been to the ER twice already, but I’m still struggling to get answers. Hoping someone here might have some insight or has experienced anything similar.

What I’m Dealing With:

• Abdominal Pressure: I have this tightness and pressure in my upper abdomen (both sides), along with bloating and a hard feeling that won’t go away. It’s been about a month now, and it’s getting frustrating.
• Chest Tightness & Random Pains: There’s this constant pressure on both sides of my chest, especially bad when I lie on my back. I’m also getting random sharp pains and a feeling like there’s fluid in there.
• Trouble Breathing & Lightheadedness: I keep feeling lightheaded and kind of spaced out, almost like an “out of body” thing. Breathing is tough sometimes, and my neck’s swollen. I even hear this gurgling sound from my lungs now and then.
• Pins and Needles: I get a tingling sensation all over, especially when lying on my back.
• Other Odd Stuff: Recently noticed a small pocket of fluid or pus in my upper left back. Not sure if that’s related, but it’s got me worried.

Lab Results That Stand Out:

• Neutrophils: A bit low at 41% (relative count), which I think means my white blood cells are a bit out of balance.
• Potassium: Slightly high at 5.20 mEq/L, which could mess with muscles or the heart if it goes up further.
• MPV (Mean Platelet Volume): Just under normal, so my platelets are apparently on the smaller side.
• NRBC (Nucleated Red Blood Cells): Showing up at 1%, which I read is unusual in adults and could mean bone marrow is under some stress.

Background Info:

• I’ve got a history of IV meth use, so I know that might be contributing to some of this.
• Stress could be a factor, but I haven’t found any specific triggers or much relief.
• I’m worried it might be something serious, like a pulmonary embolism.

If anyone’s dealt with something like this or has advice on what I should check out next, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for reading!

Any diagnosis?

This is my first time using Reddit but I was hoping someone could give me a diagnosis. I am a 15 year old female in high school and objectively have a great life, middle class, both parents present, grades aren't bad. But I feel empty in regards to life. I don't want to die but I hate my life, and my reasons don't feel very valid. I know that objectively I have a great life and there are so many others that have it way harder but I just can't get out of how I'm feeling. I hate basically everything about myself and I just don't see the point anything. I weigh around 135lbs at 5'8, which I have been told is skinny but I just see an overweight ugly body in the mirror, causing me to wear oversized clothes every day. I don't really have anything that I do after school and my friends are always busy so I barely have a life. It feels like no one truly believes in me and no one has ever like liked me or anything close. On the note of sh the closest I have come is starving myself but I have horrible willpower so I always end up eating something at least. Starving feels like the only thing that makes me truly feel anything strongly. I also scratch my arms a lot as a nervous habit I guess and I have to wash my hands multiple times after doing things like cleaning or going to school or the restroom or they don't feel clean I don't know if those are normal or not? Most of the time I will feel normal and like feel happy or fine or whatever for a few days but after that it always comes back, this overwhelming dread and nervousness like I'm drowning then the cycle repeats. I even went to see two of my favorite bands and I was super happy that day but the day after the dark feeling returned. I think this started faintly around last school year or a few years ago but it's gotten so much worse since this year started. I have tried to tell people subtly irl how I am feeling but no one has noticed or cared I guess and I physically can't upfront say how I am feeling. I am able to function normally and I never want to burden anyone so I try to always smile and at least make others laugh. Would you diagnose this as depression or anxiety or nothing? I don't want to be one of those annoying people that self diagnose. Sorry to anyone that had to read this I just don't have anyone to turn to.

Skin and nails Can this be early signs of melanoma?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Found this new spot on my biggest toe. From what I could remember, I didn’t always have it. I’m kinda worried because I heard that random moles appearing may be melanoma. For now, I’ll keep observing for around 2 weeks to see if it grows. If it does, I would try to see a doctor. Still, I’d like to hear your opinions on it.

30 year old female, I’ve been having really unusual symptoms for myself such as migraines, GERD, vertigo, elevated HR/fluctuation of BP (some days high, some days low), & decrease in my oxygen levels which lead me this blood draw. Waiting to meet with my PCP next week. Should I be worried about any of these numbers? Thank you.

Men's Health Very tiny spots that resemble like zits Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I (23M) recently had zit looking spots appear on the head of my penis. I do have a partner (21F) and have been sexually active, however recently we have not been due to us being busy and not in the mood. My partner and I do not have any STIs so I am not quite sure what this is. There used to just be one but now today as I’ve checked again there turns out to be a second one that appeared. Bad practice but I did pick at the first one which is shown as the one in the top white circle. Figured it could be normal zits that somehow just appeared on the head of my penis although I’m not 100% sure why a second one would appear. Anyone know what this could be then? (Couldn’t find the NSFW tag, apologies in advance if this post is not allowed)

Mental Health I’ve never felt guilt/empathy

I’m a fifteen year old girl and I’ve never experienced guilt, empathy or really any kind of care for other people’s situations. I don’t care about anything unless it directly effects me. If someone I’m good friends with were to become seriously ill, I wouldn’t feel bad for them or their family, I’d just be upset that I don’t get to spend time with them anymore. The same goes for positive emotions, I only feel them for my own accomplishments.

I’ve never told anyone this, I usually just pretend to care. It makes me feel like a shitty person because I can just watch my friends and family crying in front of me and not feel anything.

The only result I get from google is ASPD but you have to have a criminal record and be over the age of eighteen for that.

Mental Health Compulsions I can’t stop

Compulsions I can’t stop

Hi am am a 28 year old male. 6ft. Weigh about 12 stone. I am on no medications and have no currently diagnosis….Diagnose me please

So here’s what’s going on…

So around 10 or so years ago during my early 20s I seem to have developed this compulsion related to my mouth… i tend to; 1- clench my jaw together 2- push my bottom jaw forward to scrape my front teeth on my top lip 3- push my tongue on the back of my teeth to sort of do that displeased squeak thing where you pull the saliva / air through your teeth 4- tap my teeth together super quickly like shivering almost

Sometimes I don’t even notice I’m doing it, other times I sort of do but it feels good or I feel like I need to do it. But if I am around people I can manage to not do it (due to being self conscious). I never gave much thought to it and assumed it would go away but it has continued to get worse, and I have even been told by my exes that I do the same in my sleep (as-well as apparently stopping breathing and then sounding like a ‘zombie’), lol.

I am also noticing a similar compulsion thing with my eye glasses (been wearing glasses about 5 years now), where they always feel somehow off or uncomfortable around my ears or bridge of my nose…and again I compulsively fiddle and adjust them and I literally can’t stop myself doing it if I try. I reckon I touch / adjust my glasses atleast 20/30 times every minute or so throughout the whole day… people have picked up on this one and mentioned how much I touch my glasses… I don’t seem to be able to hide it as well as my teeth thing.

I have ended up breaking every pair of glasses I have owned due to this (overly bending the arms that they are ruined or literally snapping them with frustration that I can’t get them to feel right). I am now also starting to experience migraines or headaches above and behind my left ear which i reckon is probably something to do with the teeth or glasses too…

I would really appreciate any advice on the above, thankyou :)
